With the publication of The Surreal Adventures of Edgar Allan Poo this creative team has redefined humor literature, while retaining all the much loved characteristics of a vintage comic book! From the opening scene, the reader is treated to a visually stimulating array of high gloss, celestial dream-scape styled illustrations that captivate the senses and bring the dialogue to life. A fun adventure serial as these things go, but due to its original serialization online, the page-a-day cracks were really obvious when it was all put together. Abrupt transitions, repetitive panels, and unnecessary captions could have used with some smoothing, as well as some padding to give some variety to the breakneck pace. Some funny moments, really pretty artwork, and the nature of the story keep it light and fast, though, which is a plus.
