Here's the honest truth about this series: the writing is amateurish (and at times simply AWFUL), the characters are essentially one-dimensional, the plot is the epitome of formulaic... it's predictable, unoriginal, hokey and juvenile. And I positively couldn't put it down. I LOVED it--it does for women what porn does for men. But why is everyone in love with Edward??? Jacob could have me any day. Wow... I'm so embarrassed. ADMIT IT!!! YOU LOVED IT, TOO!!!!!!! Liar.

This book was by far the best book i have ever read. Usually i dont find any interest in reading, but when i started Twilight i couldn't put it down. Ever since i read the Twilight series i've started reading on a regular basis. Even though i've read all the Twilight books i know that i will continue reading them over and over again and never get tired of them. I've told all of my friends about this book and they have read it and enjoyed it just as much as i did.

I am going to clump all the books into one review even though I preferred the first and 3rd books to the other 2. I enjoyed Breaking Dawn until I read the reviews about how dissapointed everyone was with the book...saying it was too perfect. I heard in Utah there is a group of ladies who have thought less of their husbands after reading about Edward and how perfect he is...a gentleman and handsome etc. Please! He's a vampire. I thought Breaking Dawn ended just how I wanted it too. Yes, the...more

so I love these books, so we borrowed the cds for a roadtrip because I wanted my husband to listen to them. Well, the narrator makes the whole thing sound overly sappy and just too mushy that it was a lost cause. Better to read them then to listen.

I loved reading this book, but listening to it on c.d. was horrible. It seemed way more boring than reading it. And I hated the voice.

Meyer's sequel to Twilight was a bit of a disappointment. While I found Twilight to be magical, I found New Moon to be disjointed. I realize Meyer may be going somewhere with the plot she has set up, but what I enjoyed in the first book - Bella and Edward's relationship was missing for the majority of New Moon. The introduction of Jacob as a major character was not very appealing and Meyer seemed to drop it all of a sudden toward the end. [return:][return:]I do think the book wrapped up fairl...more

These four books aren't part of any of the listings on our syllabus (i.e. ALA Best Books, Printz Award winners etc), but when I read Twilight for our class, I was immediately hooked! I finished all four in about three weeks. All the books have classical influences and can be used to reinforce classic, canonical works, but in my opinion, the texts can't stand alone outside the series. However, Twilight could be utilized independently in this way, because it is the first in the series. I think it...more

WOW!!
It is without question in my mind that these are the most emotionally moving books of all time.
Totally in love with the characters especially Edward (of course) but Twilight is by far the best of the series- Bring on the movie!
For more details have a look at my reviews on all 4 separate books.
Thanks

It was "ok" but horredously repetetive, badly written and dull.
Bella was possibly one of the most INSUFFERABLE characters I have ever come across in a book. Three words: selfish, whiny, boring.
There are so many things that I could slam this book for, but to tell you the truth: it really isn't worth it.

OK all these books are good, but extremely frustrating at the same time.... He's like 150years old and has never had sex?!! Drives me crazy!! Just do it already!!! BY the end of the third one I'm so angry I can't see straight. The author does a really great job getting you to keep turning the pages, and just when you think there's gonna be awesome sex...None!! Oh the morals you can learn from this book. Maybe Bella wouldn't be so sad all the time if her cold, bloodsucking, boyfriend wasn'...more

ok, i don't necessarily recommend the audio pack and breaking dawn isn't even out until august, but this is the only thing that came up when i typed in new moon. I really liked new moon, but it was probably my least favorite in the series. The first half isn't as exciting as the second, plus I was slightly annoyed by a certain character...for those who've read it you know who I mean. Eclipse was really good, I loved it. I think the character's personality's were hiliarious. Of course I was ...more

Im almost done! It was so good that I will probably be depressed to a certain degree. Can a book really do that to someone? Can people really have a relationship like Edward and Bella have in this book? doubt it!

well... listening to the first book on CD on my commute to work, and I am really enjoying it. I actually WANT to get into my car and don't want to get out after I park the car. I am finding it highly enjoyable/ fun fluff to listen to. Young love with an interesting twist!
I finished listening to all four books on Cd and couldn't wait for the next one each time.

So I jumped on the bandwagon last summer and read the first 3 books in a few weeks. I can't believe how much I really enjoyed them. First of all, I was really fascinated with the fact that a mother of 3 with a similar background as my own actually came up with this story and the other things is that I guess I was interested in the passion that Edward has for Bella and secretly wish someone loved me that much? I don't know. It was an interesting ride and I am glad I read the books. My mother...more
