Ordinarily I’m not the person to write a review of a young adults fantasy novel. I didn’t read YA novels when I was a kid, and fantasy novels that create new lands and languages usually need (and have) a glossary. But for The Diary of a Teenage Faerie Princess by C.B. Smith, I found myself so rapt into the world that it disarmed me from my usual predilections and I’m glad to have found the book.

As far back as Jaynie can remember it has always been just her and her dad. Her mother left her when she was really little. One day Jaynie finds a big, old chest. Hidden within the chest is a letter made out to Jaynie, written by her mother. The old part is that the letter is address as Princess Jaynie. Jaynie’s father tells Jaynie that her mother Anahit is actually a real life faerie.
Jaynie decides to research more on the topic of faeries. In the middle of Jaynie’s learning, a faerie b...more

Meet Jaynie the teenage faerie Princess in this one-of-a-kind Novel by C.B. SMITH. Jaynie, who is told from a young age by her father, that her mother is dead, is raised by him to teenage years. She is raised in the haunts of a non-typical world, that rises from a not-so-typical teenage girl. But, as years pass, of course they do, she happens upon a cellar with Leo, her new-found Koala-boy friend. They soon discover a letter. It more than leads them to Jaynie's new destiny. Finding that her moth...more

A novel only CB SMITH could or would dare to procure! I loved Jaynie in this book. A one of a kind teenager. She seemed somewhat younger than I expected at first. There are many surprises, and no unsolved mysteries. Very well done. The language was rough, but, then again, so is Jaynie...a tough cookie, and deserves her crown! On to the next "dawn"ing adventure!

Loaded with Faerie Juju!
A fantasy maybe. Sprinkles and squirts of the erotic to be found on many pages. The use of language and characters without a doubt entertaining. Absurd and surreal for sure. Disturbingly humorous for certain.

Loved this teenage novel that took me a ride through faerie land with little Jaynie and her freinds, where she struggles to find her self worth, in order to gain respect in a world unseen reality.
Great job CB!
