I'm not always fond of books that talk about kids going through really tough times like this girl (mom's a drug addict and she's in foster care), but Mette does a good job of keeping the main character from being too angry. I loved the author's other books and just looked this first one up. It is a short story about a girl in foster care learning to trust people again. It was a fine story, with an ending that seemed a bit abrupt. I only gave it 3 stars because I would have enjoyed reading more about the characters. I know it is just a short story, but it left me hanging a bit too much.

Ryan checked this book out, but since I didn't have any books in the house to read I got to it first. It is set in Heber, UT and details the experience of a teenage girl in her first foster home. I just never really understood how she could love running so much, to me, running is pain. Pain in my side, my lungs, my legs. I think I need to get in shape...
