I was expecting more of a travel-log, based on Grescoe's later books. This is really a look at the culture of Quebec. It was fascinating, and interesting. I didn't know anything about Quebec before reading this book. Now I know a lot about Quebec. Did you know that practically everyone (well, a whole lot of people, at least) in Quebec moves to a new house on July 1? It's true. Now every time I hear about something happening in Quebec, I'm going to shake my head knowingly and say, "Ah, Quebec."
