This series makes me wildly happy. It's very difficult to find - though probably not anymore on the Internet. Friesner has an easy-to-read, fun style that trips merrily along, and her books are filled with wacky, memorable characters. But there is also always an undercurrent of a deeper, more meaningful story as well, like the Desmonds' father-son relationship in this series. I've read these books multiple times, and I always enjoy them. They're great for young teens, too.
