Judy's review of Annals of the Former World
Annals of the Former World by John McPhee
So, this book is pretty big! It looks good on the shelf, cause it has like a Pulitzer award shiny doda on it. So, when people come over, they are like...."wow, Judy, you read some heavy good shit." And I'm like "Oh, I know, h'orderves anyone?"
However, this is not an easy book, so I think the judges may have been peer-pressured into voting for it. A short reenactment:
Judge 1 "Good sir, I declare this John McPhee chap, knows how to write jolly-good non-fiction, perhaps the Pulitzer shall be awarded to this fine young American govna."
Judge 2 "Uhhhhh, yeah, that was like, um, good stuff, Todd. I uhhh, think that uuhhhh, you know, like it was real....uhhhhh...good. So you know, um, like it gets my vote."
Judge 3 (Just arrived) "What are we talking about?"
Judge 2 "Uhhh, you know like the, um , um, best, uh, non-fiction."
Judge 3 "Uh, great! It's got my vote."
Judge 1 "Jolly good."
End....more
