A great number of writers have written under the pen-name over the years, beginning in September 1886 when Nick Carter first appeared in the 'New York Weekly' in a 13-week serial, entitled 'The Old Detective's Pupil; or, The Mysterious Crime of Madison Square'.
The Nick Carter character was originally conceived by Ormond G. Smith, the son of one of the founders of Street & Smith, and realized by John R. Coryell.

Tja, slordig Nick. Je hebt je wel heel eenvoudig gevangen laten nemen. Ik snap ook wel dat ook jij niet altijd superscherp kunt zijn, maar kom op hey!! Je tegenstanders waren van een kinderlijk niveau. Ik bedoel...welke villain besluit nu om juist jou na je gevangen te hebben genomen, mee te nemen op diezelfde boot waar het goud zich bevindt! En je hebt slechts een keer geneukt Nick...kom op hey! Ik ben ontzettend blij dat het goed gekomen is allemaal, maar pak effe die welverdiende vakantie in het zuiden van Frankrijk. Je hebt het nodig maat.

A nice rewrite of an old Pulp character. Recast more in the James Bond spy mode. Good quick men's adventure read. If you are looking for some fast paced action and adventure then this is a recommended read.

This Nick Carter novel started off a bit slow and uninteresting, but after 30-40% it got some speed. A classic story about a madman from world war 2 Germany sees the opportunity to make the USA bankrupt in coordination with the Chinese and the Mafia. Great entertainment if you are into Nick Carter novels.
