In 1994, the book Surprised by Truth was released as the latest effort by the new school of Roman Catholic apologists to offer "Catholic answers" to the many doctrinal issues that separate Rome from Protestantism. Containing a total of eleven testimonial essays from former "anti-Catholics," this book was said to "give all the reasons for becoming Catholic."
In this response to Surprised by Truth, the author gives a brief defense of the historic Protestant faith and demonstrates that Scot Haun, patrick Madrid, and others, have borrowed from the Protestant position in order to promote a Protestantized Roman Catholicism.
Greg Loren Durand has been involved in biblical apologetics since 1986 and has authored several books and articles on both theological and historical subjects.
