NGL I’m super disappointed with this epilogue. WICKED BEAUTY ends so abruptly with the tournament ending and Helen being thrust into her new role that we barely have time to figure out what’s happening. And then her relationship with the boys gets wrapped up so quickly too with Achilles doing a complete 180 in a few pages. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy he grew the fuck up to support Helen, even though it mostly only happened because Patroclus refused to choose sides, and the trio could stay together as they clearly want to do. But I would’ve loved this epilogue to show them actually communicating about their arrangement and her new position and show how they’re not only her lovers but will work for her (as we see in RADIANT SIN).
But no. All we see here is that Helen agreed to keep their polyamorous relationship open, but what pisses me off about that is it doesn’t seem to be what anyone wants except Achilles. Achilles already pisses me off, he just wants to be able to fuck anyone he wants but then have Patroclus waiting around for him at his beck and call and now he has Helen doing the same. They play this off as if they’ve discussed this or it makes their relationship stronger or these are pitfalls of a poly relationship she has to get used to, but that’s bullshit. Poly does not mean open and it just makes Achilles seem super greedy which annoys me. It just makes me dislike him even more. Ugh, so frustrating.
Open relationships are just so very much not for me. I’m not into poly either, but at least I can understand the dynamic, but I do not love the open factor and frustrates me for Helen and Patroclus who deserve better. Not a fan. And their sex wasn’t even hot enough to make up for it…
I LOVED Wicked Beauty. My favorite so far in the Dark Olympus series. HOWEVER, this I did not expect. Personal preference but like it just wasn’t for me and it would’ve been way better if I ignored this and never read it so I can forget about it and just stick to what I myself envision their HEA to be. Cause I love Kate but this epilogue ruined their story for me.
Now you might ask yourself Gwen did you only read this to get back on track and that answer is yes and also I wanted to read it so shut up. It was cute just a quick check in with how Achilles, Patroclus, and Helen were doing so what more could you want.
Heather's Notes This epilogue killed the story for me. I really liked Wicked Beauty and was very excited that there was an epilogue because the ending felt kind of rushed. This was not the epilogue I wanted. I wanted to see them together working things out and cementing their relationship. Instead I got we can screw whoever we want as long as we tell each other about it. What a crock and it seems like Achilles is the only one doing it. This killed their HEA or HFN. I no longer believe in their relationship and wish I could un read it.
Honestly it pissed me off. Not my favorite at all. I was hoping for it to be the three of them extremely happy and that kind of thing. What I didn’t expect was it to still be an open relationship.
It was good and I’m glad all of them are still happy with one another.

I love that they’re happy with their openness and that they’re learning to grow together but this made me realize that I could never be in an open relationship cause MY feelings were getting hurt at the lipstick mark and I’m not even in that relationship lol 😂
I do wish we got more expansion on their actual relationship beyond what little we got at the end of Wicked Beauty. And I especially wish we could have seen more of Helen in her role as Zeus because we barely got a sliver in the book and I really needed more.
Really wish this was more of an update on how Ares position has been going and the relationship between the trio was talked about more in detail. Also really didn’t expect the relationship to be kept open 😬
I am seriously such a sucker for MMF romances and of all Katee has written (which is a lot given she’s the MMF queen) this trio is my second favorite 🫶🏻
This epilogue on its own would have been fine if Wicked Beauty had not ended on an HFN. They get back together in the final pages of that book, so I really wish this epilogue had been split into two parts: first the missing HEA, then opening the relationship to other people.
It also did not help that Achilles came across as selfish in Wicked Beauty when it came to his relationship with Patroclus. He did not want Patroclus to sleep with Helen, then slept with her himself and banned Patroclus from doing the same. It gave the impression that the open relationship was something Patroclus tolerated to keep Achilles, rather than something he genuinely wanted. With that context, this epilogue makes it feel like the same dynamic is now happening with Helen as well.
I enjoy reading about open relationships, but not when it feels like it only benefits one person.
I just don’t get the point of this epilogue, I thought it was going to explore their relationship a little more with them actually talking about things since the book ended so abruptly. But no it’s just to say they are still in an open relationship, to each their own but that’s just not my cup of tea.

THEYRE JUST CHEATING ON EACH OTHER!!!!!!! WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!! oh and NOW Briseis comes into the story??? When any classics fan worth their salt knows it shouldve been her in the threeway instead of helen in the first place. whatever. I JUST HATE THAT THEYRE CHEATING ON EACH OTHER!!!! AND THE MF "HE KNOWS WHERE HOME IS" OMGGGG ARE YOU SERIOUS😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I do not know what just happened here. I thought this was a closed triad and was eagerly awaiting to see a smexy epilogue. Whilst there was a little sex, it actually seemed to be more heart breaking than loving. Not a fan of this short
After Wicked Beauty, I was expecting something cute and cozy that would blow my mind from how good it was. However this was quite the opposite, i'm still disappointed. I thought It would provide the redemption I needed, but oh well, not everything that shimmers is gold. Okay so I was expecting that we'd see Helen as the Ares, and Patroclus and Achilles supporting her, and maybe them having a closed off relationship, with communication. But no. Helen and Patroclus seem like they are not okay with what Achilles is doing, but since they love him so much, they let him do whatever he wants, which is valid, but I just feel like they're just not happy. Achilles really annoys me, I thought that I'd grow to like him, but his character just pisses me off. He seems so greedy, like he just can't settle, which is unsettling to me. Don't get me wrong, I respect everyone withopen relationships, but it's just not for me!
Meh. "WICKED BEAUTY" ended rather abruptly for my taste, so when I saw that there was a free short epilogue, I immediately jumped into it. Short is definitely the correct word for this, as it was shorter than almost every chapter in each book that I have read by the author. It didn't add much to the short. I was hoping it would be long enough for Achilles to whip Helen and Patroclus into a lusty frenzy with dirty talk about his night. What I really wanted was a one on one with Patroclus and Helen while Achilles was out. I don't care for them sitting around, simply waiting on the least interesting of their throuple to come home.
On one hand, I appreciate the 'realistic' portrayal of polyamory, complete with jealousy and insecurity, even if it's not the neat and tidy closed triad. On the other, this was not the epilogue I was wanting, and it honestly leaves a bitter taste that this is apparently the epilogue we get, especially compared to some of the happier, more simple ones we've gotten. Mostly it doesn't seem right, even with her insecurity and jealousy, for Helen to wait at home for Achilles. Plus it would have been nicer, happier, if this had been set maybe a couple of months later (fuck the invasion timeline) and Helen was more comfortable in the open relationship.
I love Helen & Patroclus, Achilles is okay. I don’t hate him but he does get on my nerves more often than not lol. I really hoped this epilogue would be a look into what’s going on after the Ares tournament & their new relationship dynamic. I was kind of expecting a HEA scenario with the trio being exclusive to each other, I was not expecting it to still be an open relationship. It seems like the only one who wants to continue seeing other people is Achilles which makes me like his character a little less.

This was a fun, quick look into the relationship of Achilles, Patroclus, and Helen after the events of Wicked Beauty. They are learning to navigate their poly relationship and it's cute.
One of my favorite couples from the series so it was fun to read an extra chapter of their story. It just makes me want to know more about those 3. I love how Katee still sticks with the myths and legends vaguely by mentioning Achilles and Briseis little relationship. She does her research and I love it.
Initially I didn't think I'd like this pairing at all, but after reading Wicked Beauty, I think they're my favourite dynamic. I loved all three of them and I'd love to see more of them in the following books.
A cute, short little epilogue which is exactly what I needed since there wasn't one in the book itself. I'm sure there's going to be a lot more hints of them in the books to come but it was nice getting one more look at them before we move on to the next.
