I read this series because it's my friends favourite vampire series and she read mine, "House of Night". One of the things I like about this series is that it's different, nothing like the second most pathetic vampire book that is twilight (yeah I have actually read worse) or the awesomeness that is Vampire academy or House of Night. It's a totally new idea and there is no love triangle yay! However Claire annoyed me, she was kind of to, I dunno, I'm-gonna-do-this-cause-you-told-me-not-to kinda person. Shane annoyed me as well, all my friends are like Shane's awesome, he's so hot, he's so right for Claire. But I kind of think he's to generic and mean. His best friend basically dies everyday, goes through huge amounts of pain and can't leave the house and the only way he can stop that is by becoming a vampire but for Shane that's like Michael killed his Mum and is completely horrible to him for the rest of the series. On the plus side I do like Michael, I think Eves a great friend and that Myrnin is just plain awesome. So I think you should read it but it isn't the best vampire book out there
these books give a different meaning to vampire's and i love how Rachel saw them, The old ones can go out during the day but not for long to me that's how vampire's should be. It's starts with Claire Danvers who is smart and ahead for her age. she want's to go off to MIT but her parent think it's too soon, so she agrees to go to morganville for a year but when she get there thing's change. i think this is such a great book series and would say please give it a read you might be surprised a love it like i do.
This was an amazing read, it kept me hooked for weeks. I couldn't stop talking about it. They give such a different story towards vampires. I loved Claire and Shane they just seemed so great together. I loved their love story. He was always so protective of her. Michael and eves love story was outstanding, it was actually like a fairy tale where eve actually got the guy of her dreams. However Myrnin was my favourite, he was wacky and crazy and completely bonkers at times but his love for claire made me sad, knowing she would never take him and he knowing that she would never change for him or fall in love with him, that was hard and so sad. There were a few moments where she enjoyed him but she loved Shane too much. You could say Myrnin was her protector and shane was looking out for her as a boyfriend, as he should. The action within the books was remarkable, you just knew there was something going to happen, something new and exciting. 5 stars all the way.

Great series I read them as each book came out. I think it's great now made into a box set. I purchased them for a gift for my teenage daughter. Loved the storyline and every single one of the characters(even the bad guys). I was upset that the TV/movie series was never finished. Many didn't care for reading it in 10 minute short bites or episodes online. At first I thought they were trailers for the books. I feel it would of been a great CW or Netflix TV show. Very good story loved every minute of it
I love this series!!! I couldn’t put the books down it was so exciting, heartbreaking, funny, dark I was only a teenager reading this and I loved it I didn’t want it to end I tried so hard to put the last book off but I needed to know what happened. It’s definitely one I would consider reading again
Strangely compulsive reading, teen fiction but excellent writing and plot constantly develops. The heroes and villains keep you interested, the main characters are quite diverse and setting/conversations done very well.
By far my Favourite YA PNR series! Cant praise this series enough!
I LOVE these books!! I read the first 9 in a couple of months because i couldn't put them down! I love all the main characters and the fact that they are all misfits which makes them even more endearing because they're not your typical heroes!
I love the relationship between Shane and Claire and love how that develops. It feels like how a real relationship of that age in your life would play out and doesn't shy away from a bit of groping without too much erotic reading.
I have the next 2 in the series but i know i wont be able to put those down once i start reading so going to get the next one after those and read them back to back!
Binge read these novels one weekend, and I guarantee you, you'll feel like a day hadn't passed. Rachel absorbs you into the troubles a quiet deserted and faraway town experiences. A town unlike others, with problems unheard of, and creature thought to be nonexistent. Vampire run this town, and they're no companions to the humans. Clary needs to learn how to persevere in the ravaged land where humans are livestock, and in all 9 books, she has not only mastered those arts, but has become crucial to the survival of vampires.
This is my favourite vampire series (bar the sookie stackhouse novels) I love all of the characters even Oliver! I often wonder how it would have been if Claire had been with Mike or Myrnin. I need some of those fanged bunny slippers! Claire is a great mc and I love that we get to watch her grow from this naive girl to a kick ass, take no nonsense woman. She knows what she wants and she'll do anything to protect her friends and family. This is a great series and I was sad when it ended :( Now I need to find another series for my vampire fix.
Ok this is going to be brief I think. The books are ok, I did enjoy them. But I started to get bored. I mean these books are about vampires that are more or less trapped in a town and no one can really get out. Well unless they have permission from the head Vamp in charge. And then when they do get to leave they cant seem to remember the town or the folks that are within the city. If they do remember they are killed in some type a Vamp manufacture accident. It was just to damn long and drawn out. But again it was a semi-good read.
Ah, Morganville. Probably one of the best young adult vampire series out there.
Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t perfect. There are many things I disliked about this series, yet when I compare it to other books in this category it ranks rather high. Throughout the series, we have a continuous story and individual book stories to keep you engaged, without things growing repetitive.
If you’re into young adult vampire stories then I suggest you give this series a go.
i am completely obbsessed with the morganville series!! i was engrossed after only a few pages, and disappeared into the moranville world! i love the characters and think some of the lives they have our brilliant!!!
