About the author

Austrian writer.

He graduated military boarding school at Eisenstadt (1892-1894) and then Hranice, in that time also known as Mährisch Weißkirchen, (1894-1897). These school experiences are reflected in his first novel, The Confusions of Young Törless.

He served in the army during The First World War. When Austria became a part of the Third Reich in 1938, Musil left for exile in Switzerland, where he died of a stroke on April 15, 1942. Musil collapsed in the middle of his gymnastic exercises and is rumoured to have died with an expression of ironic amusement on his face. He was 61 years old.

Το Μαγεμένο Σπίτι με μάγεψε με τη γραφή, όχι τόσο με την ιστορία ενώ η Γκρίτζα κάπως λιγότερο. Σ' αυτήν την πρώτη μου γνωριμία με το σπουδαίο Αυστριακό λογοτέχνη, είναι νομίζω εμφανή τα δείγματα της γραφής που τον έκαναν έναν από τους σημαντικότερους δημιουργούς στη γερμανική γλώσσα.

3.5/5, κυρίως λόγω μεγέθους - οι νουβέλες δεν είναι το αγαπημένο μου είδος.

Εξαιρετικά διαφωτιστικό το επίμετρο από τον Αλέξανδρο Ίσαρη Θεωρώ αυτό το μίνι βιβλίο σφηνάκι μια πολύ καλή πρώτη επαφή με τον Μουζιλ

Εντάξει, ο Μούζιλ ήξερε να γράφει (αν και στην πρώτη από τις δύο νουβέλες το παρακάνει με τις παρομοιώσεις· υπάρχουν ολόκληρες παράγραφοι στις οποίες κάθε περίοδος έχει τουλάχιστον μία παρομοίωση), αλλά με αυτό το βιβλιαράκι θυμήθηκα γιατί δεν με τραβάει η γερμανόφωνη λογοτεχνία, ιδίως της εποχής εκείνης: εσωστρέφεια, συμβολισμός, φιλοσοφική και στοχαστική διάθεση, ανύπαρκτη πλοκή.

No nos explica mucho sobre la historia en sí, hay muchas referencias. Pero eso es normal de escritores como Musil. El final es inesperado. Como debe ser.
