Pucks are flying in this forbidden, dating-the-boss, office romance at Vegas Crush headquarters bringing the new GM and the team's nutritionist together after a one-night puck with surprising consequences. But first, they'll have to shoot around that pesky no-fraternization policy in this steamy hockey love story.
"Lucky Las Vegas. It’s true I’ve had some major puck luck in this city. In ways I could never imagine." -Grant Gerard, VEGAS CRUSH
General Manager of the Vegas Crush, the sharpest skates on NHL ice. Also, the dream job of a lifetime. On the day I accepted their offer, I met Devon in the bar at my hotel where she was attending a conference. We made a pact not to mention jobs or exes, so we talked about other things instead. In fact, we did lots of talking that night. Talking before and after the sexy naked things we also did in her hotel room that night. Devon and I had a magical kind of “puck” luck going on between us. All. Night. Long. But our scorching night eventually turned to morning, and we said our goodbyes, returning to busy lives in different cities far away from each other. I put our one-night-puck firmly in the past as an unforgettable encounter with a gorgeous woman I never dreamed I’d ever be lucky enough to see again. But it turns out I am that lucky. Because I did see her again. Right here in Vegas, working for the Vegas Crush Organization—the nutritionist for the team. The same gorgeous Devon I can't stop thinking about is working in an office just a few floors below me. I am the new GM, so…we’ll need to get around the corporate non-fraternization policy we’ve both now signed. A policy I wish would PUCK right off into the flames of a Vegas desert sunset. Because Devon Pearson is here…and I can't possibly stay away from her. She's my lucky puck.
**LUCKY PUCK can be read as a complete standalone sports romance. Each book in the Vegas Crush series is about a different couple.
Raine Miller has been reading romance novels since she picked up that first Barbara Cartland book at the tender age of thirteen. And it's a safe bet she'll never stop, because now she writes them too! Granted Raine's stories are edgy enough to turn Ms. Cartland in her grave, but to her way of thinking, a hot, sexy hero never goes out of fashion. A former teacher, she's now writing sexy romance stories full time. She has a handsome prince of a husband, two brilliant sons, and two bouncy Italian Greyhounds to pull her back into the real world if the writing takes her too far away. Her sons know she likes to write stories, but gratefully have never asked to read any, thank God! Raine loves to hear from readers and to chat about the characters in her books. I devoured this book!!!! I could NOT put it down!!! My eyes were getting blurry and I had to soldier on!! ;) The cover had the perfect muse!!! xo
I think I LOVED this story SO much due to the hero and heroine!!! There were no games played!! They were real and honest with themselves and each other!! The story progressed perfectly with the right amount of time focused on them building their relationship! Loved the surprises that were dropped along the way!!
I have read the other books in the series, and it was GREAT to get glimpses of the past characters, but even if I hadn’t read them, it wasn’t necessary to understand the story!
Raine Miller is one of my FAVORITE authors, and I will read anything she writes—-under any pen name!! I get swept away by the connection you feel to the characters and all of the stories’ settings!
Definitely read this for an AMAZING story of a one night stand turned relationship, consisting of an independent man & woman who know how to come together (in more than one way ;), set in the world of hockey!!
Thank you to Raine Miller for an ARC ebook in exchange for an honest review. xoxo
FAV QUOTES: “The beating of my heart just definitely stuttered, went offline for a second before sputtering back into normal rhythm.” Grant
“Sometimes we think things are best for us, but really they are not”. Cabbie :)
“You think you’re over a situation, that it’s in the past and can’t hurt you anymore. And then….” Grant
“She’s exactly what I want, and everything I never knew I needed.” Grant
“I didn’t consider myself lonely until I met you.” Devon
The dirty talking Vegas Crush GM Grant is hot as Sin, sweet, and so darn swoon worthy. Grant and Devon have both been burned in their past, but one fateful night is all it takes for the stars to align on this couple. Both seek escape in Vegas and find their “home” with each other after some bumps and cliffs. Devon, the reserved nutritionist finds her safe spot in the sweet and caring Grant. I couldn’t put this book down until they got their HEA
I am a sucker for age-gap romances, and the bonus of this being set in the backdrop of the NHL made my heart happy.
This is book #7 in this glorious series following the Las Vegas Crush.
We first meet the dreamy Grant Gerard and the lovely Devon Pearson in a Vegas hotel, and the attraction is immediate. After a steamy night together they part... but there is a fateful consequence in the wings!!
Grant takes over as the new GM at the Crush and is shocked to discover that Devon is employed there as a nutritionist.
• Grant is still stung over his recent divorce and is not ready to move on. • Devon, too, has trust and self-worth issues that she is working through.
There is so much to love about these characters, they are honest and upfront about their feelings, and it was heart-warming to see their relationship develop despite the odds
It was fascinating watching them trying to resist their attraction, but it was too powerful - their chemistry was sizzling off the page hot.
So, go ahead and read this delicious story, you will not be disappointed. ***********************************
I have gone back and started this series at the beginning with Crushed, and I'm planning to read books #2-6.
Grant and Devon’s story was my favorite in this series thus far! A second chance at love for two well-deserving burned people. Grant and his dirty-talking, hot self drawing in sweet Devon and her shy, unconfident ways.
It was a match made in heaven.
Everything about them just came together. I love how they complimented each other and brought out the best in one another. The story just made me smile, and believe that true love just might exist!
Swoon!! I fell in love with Grant and Devon. Raine Miller has written a wonderful book that is easy to read and fun! Grant is the new GM for the Vegas Crush and Devon is the team’s nutritionist. They meet as strangers in a hotel bar and have a one night stand. They agreed not to talk about work or exes. Imagine they’re surprise when they are introduced to each other on Grant’s first day.
Both were betrayed. Both had unfaithful partners. Can they trust again? The newest book about Vegas Crush is about Devon, the nutritionist, and new general manager Grant. Can they relationship survive the not fraternising policy? Will they find their happiness? You will find out in this steamy romance.
Insta love, he falls first, surprise pregnancy, boss employee, hockey romance. If you love any of these tropes carry on. If it starts with a bang it sometimes just go downhill from there but this just gets better.
Grantham and Devon has great chemistry but it’s not just lust. They connect instantly and easily falls into love. Deciding to not talk about jobs and where they are from when they meet is just a small obstacle.
Meeting again as boss employee with a non fraternization agreement is a huge obstacle but it’s not the only surprise. I loved it so much I couldn’t stop reading and now I’m sorry I devoured it so fast.
From One-Night Puck to Office Romance | LUCKY PUCK
For all the Puck Bunnies: Lucky Puck is a juicy romance with everything you want: love after divorce, hockey hottie and of course , hotel sex.
Grant Gerald, a 39 year old retired hockey player and divorcee is a total hottie . He is also the new GM of the hottest team in Las Vegas - Vegas Crush . And how does he celebrate his new job? He meets sexy Devon, the team’s nutritionist , by accident of course [ fate I’m giving you a side eye] Talk about a workplace hazard, am I right? Sparks fly and before you know it, they are getting hot and heavy in her hotel room.
You know the kind - that makes the walls shake and the neighbors complain. Let’s just say, Devon got her money’s worth out of that hotel room.
The dialogue in this book is top notch. It’s witty and it’s sure to make you laugh out loud. You will feel like you’re there with Grant, Devon and their coworkers and friends.
The storytelling is like a slap shot to the face . it moves quickly, with plenty of scenes to keep you hooked from start to finish. There’s no time for boredom or unnecessary angst. This book is all about the romance and hockey .
There you have it, folks : Love, Hockey and Hotel Sex everything you need for a book set in Sin City.
3 star read: Pink Pussy Alert. This POC reader always find the term exclusionary and problematic. It’s not inclusive and reinforces the idea one type of body or genitalia is superior or inferior to another. I prefer language that is more neutral. Genitalia should not have a color . Otherwise the story would have been a 4 star read.
After reading the first chapter of Lucky Puck that was included at the end of The Keeper I couldn't wait to read the whole book . And I have to tell you that I read it for a day . Lucky Puck is definitely a five star read and I absolutely loved it . I loved Devon and Grant's story. Grant was genuinely good guy , honest and sincere . Devon was smart , fun and honest in her relationship with Grant . They were a great match from the start and have such insane chemistry between them . They knew what they wanted and what they expected of their meet cute - a one - night stand that was out of the ordinary for the both of them . The attraction between them is so strong to ignore it or deny it. Weeks after their meeting they continue to think about it . And then they meet again and this time it's work related because they both work for the Vegas Crush. For two people with a strong work ethic and rule followers it's a little bit inconvenient that they are so strong attracted to each other . After a little twists and turns and some minor drama they find a solution to their situation and their happily ever after. And there was a little big surprise for Grant and the trade mark grand gesture like in the other books from the Vegas Crush series. Lucky Puck is fun sexy story with a lot of feelings that will melt your heart .
I received an ARC copy of this book by the author in exchange of an honest review.
Devon & Grant meet on a night out in Las Vegas and it’s the perfect one steamy night. But they decide to leave it at that until things start to get complicated… and then more complicated.
But I loved every second of this form the first chapter to the third act break up and the epilogue was so sweet. This was absolutely amazing I couldn’t put it down. This was also the first book I read by Raine Miller and now I have to go read the another’s backlist because it was chefs kiss 💋
I want to thank the author, Raine Miller so much for giving me an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tropes: Age Gap Office Romance Hockey Surprise Pregnancy
This one was cute from the start. I liked the chemistry that Grant and Devon had from the start and how each of them went with it. I also liked how both of them were stunned later when they realized they had to work together and despite trying really hard they just couldn't stay away from each other. While I hated that that they thought they had to keep things secret, I'm glad that things didn't work out that way. It was so funny when they both hyped themselves up to "out" themselves and it ended up being nothing. The ending to this one was great! Loved to see the marriage and babies named after important people in their lives.

What’s not to love about Lucky Puck. We get to meet the newest GM for the Vegas Crush, Grant Gerard, coming off a divorce and looking for a brand new start but what he never expects is to meet a gorgeous woman on one of his first nights in town and meeting Devon Pearson is a game changer. Devon Pearson is the nutritionist for the Vegas Crush, and a woman looking to launch her own business, but she also is a woman who never just picks up a man but when Grant approaches she can’t look away. The chemistry between these two people is undeniably off the charts and you know that if they can overcome some obstacles that they would be perfect in every way.
I love a sports romance and even better if a hockey story 🏒.
Grant Gerard is bouncing back from a divorce and riding high in his job as the new GM of the Vegas Crush. It’s a new life. But in walks Devon Pearson, beautiful and successful. They agree to one night, no questions.
But then Grant realizes she’s the new nutritionist for his Team. And there’s a no-fraternization rule. However Devon is the game changing play for his new life. He’ll take his penalties as long as he scores her at the end.
Raine Miller writing as Brit DeMille has done it again! Grant is so charming and ready for the surprise Devon delivers! Nothing better than hearing something and being happy about it, no questions asked! My kind of guy!
Being an ardent college football fan, Raine makes me want to go see a hockey game, at least sit in the owner's box with the GM close by...
Congratulations on another great hockey romance! Do not miss this one!
Amazing addition to the series. Grant didn’t expect his one night start to be the Nutrionist for the hockey team he is taking over. Devon isn’t one to have one night stands either and Grant made her throw that out the window. To their surprise when they find out they both work for the Crush team they cannot keep their hands off each other. Cannot wait to read more of the Crush team.
I’ve been loving this series so much and couldn’t wait for Grant and Devon. This book has everything I love: age gap, one night stand turns forbidden office romance, surprise pregnant and a dirty talking hero! You can’t ask for more.
This book was a fast paced easy read and you can’t go wrong with the steam and emotion that goes with it. Plus you get to visit with some familiar faces from the Vegas Crush family!
I love all the Vegas Crush books, but Lucky Puck, and Devon and Grant, may just be my new favorite! Their first meeting is left at a one night stand! However, Fate insists on throwing them together! A heartwarming, beautifully written love story! Definitely a MUST READ!
A wonderfully ENGAGING, ENTICING and ENTERTAINING sports romance. Triple E= Hat Trick🏒 Lucky Puck met all my expectations and more! From start to finish this book was delightfully beautiful and passionate. Grant and Devon story is heart-gripping and heartwarming. These characters will capture your heart!! A deeply touching, steamy and joyful book. This series just get better and better with each book. Simply REMARKABLE!!! Congratulations Raine🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻Grant and Devon story is MEMORABLE 💗
This is soo cute! Grant and Devon meet and agree to not talk work and exes. Then they have a unexpected encounter. Ooohhhh!!! They are fire together and they have great chemistry. Loved it!! Thank you Raine for the review copy.

English: I have said it many times, but I repeat it, I LOVE THIS SERIES!!! Every book that comes out makes me question if it's my new favorite, the story started very well, when Devon and Grant meet one night, they get attracted and decide to meet anonymously (you know what I mean) thinking that it will be one night thing, they don't talk about anything personal, the next morning they goes their own way and that's it, but fate decides that there must be more, so when they meet again it's a surprise, in more ways than one. With this book I feel that we are moving away from Vegas Crush a bit while we see new elements that will bring more characters. Even so, it’s a very complete story, since the characters, both their personalities and the story behind them are very well built. What I liked MOST of the whole book was Grant's dirty talking and, although I don't like say it, I must admit that there were times when Devon's attitude seemed irrational to me, that is, I understand that the decisions she made were for the story would continue, but she could have made better decisions. It’s a book that has everything, and while I was reading it I remembered that rule that they made us know in Crushed (book #1 of the series) the one that said "Do not fraternize with team members" whoever set it up must be wanting to tear their hair out at what these guys are doing with that rule. No matter which trope is your favorite, you will like this book because you will surely find it in it.
After finalizing his divorce from his cheating ex-wife who decided one of his best friends was an upgrade, Grant is not looking forward to sticking around Alberta where everyone knows the story. An out of the blue call from Max Terry in Las Vegas turns out to be the change and big new opportunity that he needs. While he is celebrating his new job offer, he spots a gorgeous woman in the bar attending a conference mixer. He is not looking for a hookup but he is drawn to her and takes a chance on approaching her.
Devon married a professional basketball player at a very young age, and even years after her divorce, the lessons learned about the perils of famous partners stick with her. She may work for a professional sports team, but she stays far away from anything other than professional relationships with them. She has her sights set on launching her own nutrition business in the next few years, so she decides to take advantage of the full conference experience despite living in Vegas. One-night stands are nowhere near her thing, but after spending the evening talking with the extremely handsome Grant, she decides to take an out of character chance at a little no strings fun. Their "no discussion of jobs or exes" rule to their night is going to lead to one helluva surprise very soon though!
Needless to say both are shocked to meet each other again as Max is giving Grant a tour of the team facilities and introducing him to the various staff members, but they manage to get through a very awkward intro without Max realizing they have met before (to say the least). Then the dance of "we shouldn't, but I want you again" takes over, and they realize they are still just as drawn to each other now as they were the first night they met. There is a lot of push and pull until their one-night stand gift is revealed.
Full disclosure: I am pretty much over that whole trope, but after reading an early excerpt of this book in the author's newsletter, I knew I was going to take a chance and dive into it as soon as I got it. Grant Gerard is one yummy hunk of man, and Devon suits him in every way. I enjoyed the build up of their relationship before they realize what the future holds for them, and I am definitely glad I took the chance on reading their story!
Love at first sight is the overwhelming theme throughout this sexy sweet hockey romance. It was such a pleasure to read a romance that doesn’t drag you down with unnecessary drama. Grant and Devon are a perfect match = even with the age-gap, forbidden office romance, and cheating exes. Their crazy chemistry is so strong they just can’t resist.
Grant has just accepted the new General Manager position at the Vegas Crush. Moving from Canada for a new start and away from his failed marriage. Just accepting the job and in town for one night, he is drawn to the lovely Devon at the hotel bar. She is staying there for a convention even though she lives in Las Vegas. Their one-night stand comes with conditions of no talking about jobs or exes. So they don’t even exchange last names or even know where each lives. Of course, they are blown away by that sexy night and can’t stop thinking about each other. They simply both chalk it up to a “memorable” night.
Time to meet the employees as Grant takes a tour of the Vegas Crush facility only to find out that Devon is the team’s nutritionist. After an awkward re-introduction by the team’s owner, they are both drawn together (again, and again, and again). With the team’s non-fraternization policy hanging over them and both avid rule-followers they are stuck trying to be "just friends." Devon has a side gig teaching cooking classes that she hopes to eventually commit to full-time. Maybe they should wait until the season is over and she moves on from the team.
Nope. Grant just can’t stay away, and neither can Devon – so sneak around they do. There are other “inter-office romances” that have been blessed in the previous Vegas Crush stories, but this is the first actual “Boss/Subordinate” situation. All of the other couples make cameo appearances, but this is absolutely a fabulous stand-alone story. Finishing out the story with a little ex-spouse deceit and a happy surprise brings Grant and Devon their HEA.
Lucky Puck is a fantastic story about two people who genuinely fell in love that first hook up night. It was so delightful to have two genuinely nice people fit together perfectly. Ms. Miller certainly scored a goal – maybe even the perfect “hat trick” with this hockey love story.
I was given an ARC from the author for an honest review.
Grant and Devon were such a perfect match! Raine Miller, writing as Brit DeMille has scored another winner with Lucky Puck. I very much enjoyed this age-gap, surprise pregnancy hockey romance.
First I have to say because I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned it before in previous reviews in this series, but as a die-hard Vegas Golden Knights fan, I am absolutely loving and laughing at the little nods and easter eggs that are hidden all throughout these books. Not to mention the dedications!
I loved the chemistry between Grant and Devon right from the start. The attraction they felt for each other was amazing, but it wasn’t just a sexual one. Oftentimes a one night stand never gets past the sex part of it, but these two had just as much connection, and fun, with just talking to each other as they did when they got down to the sexy parts.
I was impressed with how Raine expressed their connection across the pages. Both characters experienced betrayals and divorce and had come out the other side not wanting to feel that way again or subject anyone else to that type of pain. The mutual respect they felt for each other meant they weren’t going to play any stupid games with each other or their feelings.
Now, finding out they actually worked together was something else! How do you navigate that political minefield without employees feeling like the brand new GM isn’t a creeper using his position to score with the female employees. And what happens when they all find out Devon is pregnant with Grant’s child?
Speaking of children, it really tugged at my heartstrings what Grant went through with his ex-wife when it came to children. And after all that time, he was just resigned to the fact it wasn’t in the cards for him. Until Devon.
Another emotionally charged story from Raine! And oh, so schmexy too. Very, very schmexy! As with all the previous books in the series, this can be read as a standalone with no problems, but I don’t know why you wouldn’t want to read all the books! They are filled with hunky hockey players, after all!
Well Raine Miller did again with another hot romance this time with Lucky Puck, Devon and Grant's story. This is the latest standalone in the Vegas Crush series and one that you do not want to miss. I love this story!!
Grant Gerard is a recently divorced 39 year old former hockey player who is now the new GM of Las Vegas Crush hockey team, "he's Canadian, a really hot, sexy Canadian". My goodness he is the whole package with good looks, charm and a whole lot of sexiness!!
Devon Pearson is a 28 year old gorgeous, divorced, nutritionist for the Vegas Crush who lives life simply on her own terms and rules until she doesn't. I admire how she follows her heart and takes a chance at love again with Grant.
Their chemistry is undeniable and electrifying since the moment they meet, sparks constantly flying between them. They have some kind of magic that is off the charts in sexy territory.
They find themselves in a night of passion which leads to all sexiness and unpredictable consequences one being the realization that they now "work" together.
Grant and Devon would love to be together but there is a non fraternization policy/clause within the organization so reluctantly they have agreed to have a secret "relationship" at least until Devon can establish her own cooking class business with an upcoming book deal as well. She would then no longer be employed by the Vegas Crush but there is now a bigger unexpected issue that they are both faced with.
This heart warming story checks all the boxes for a great romance with intrigue, hope, devotion and persitence for love. Devon and Grant are amazing together and I couldn't get enough of their beautiful story from start to finish. They will capture and tug at your heart as they did mine.
Bravo to Raine Miller once again for giving us Devon and Grant's passionate love story to make this whole Vegas Crush series "something of the marvelous". Each unique story keeps getting better and better!!
