Eve, Michael, Shane, and Claire go to the EEK party one year after the events in The Dead Girls' Dance. When Michael ends up leaving and doesn't come back, Eve goes to search for him...
Note: This novella is now available in the anthology The Eternal Kiss.
What goes together better than Morganville and Halloween? Morganville, Halloween, Eve, Shane, a sinister stranger at a rave … This short story was originally printed in the Eternal Kiss anthology, edited by Trisha Telep, and I was delighted to write it. Michael’s a vampire, and Eve’s desperately in love and trying to make that Romeo-Juliet thing work. Miranda delivers another of her eerie prophecies, which hasn’t quite come true … yet? But who knows? More Morganville stories yet to be told. I always wanted to put the Glass House Gang in full costume; we got to do a little with Feast of Fools, but I wanted to see what they’d wear if they picked it themselves. Not sure it’s a total surprise, but it was a pleasure.
The Eve short stories usually really intrigue me but this one fell a bit short.
It had potential but it seemed to get lost somewhere as many things were thrown at us. Sadly, despite trying to throw many things at us, it seemed to get lost behind the information regarding what people dressed up as. Of course, that simply falls in line with the fact that the entire series has an obsession with what people wear.
A good read for anyone who wants to read every detail of Morganville but it is nothing special.
I wish I would have read this right after book 6. I feel as if this is connected to something that I can't quite remember. Nevertheless I enjoyed reading this. Miranda always intrigues me. 4 Stars
Another novella in the Morganville world. This time from Eve's perspective. Interesting to see a comeback of Miranda. Interesting as well to see how Eve and Michael are developing their relationship and how they interact with each other and others around them when they are together. In the past two novellas, I think we've gained a couple new "bad guys" that we may see in future books, as well as a new possible ally? I'm curious to see how these new characters will fit into our current story line. One thing is for sure, this series keeps me wanting to read more!
"Hear that sound? It’s Eve Rosser and her backup band, The Spectacular Lapse of Judgment."
finally, another nice short from Eve's POV. And this one was totally worth it! Perfect build up and just enough hinting at what's to come that it makes me nervous
Wonderful! Now....if only Miranda's other visions made as much sense ??
I wish I had actually read this right after the sixth book like intended, but oh well! Still really enjoyed it, and loved getting to see more of Miranda.
Eve, Shane and Claire went for a Halloween party and was planning on meeting Michael there, but when he didn't show up, Eve got worried. She called him but didn't get any answer, later on, she got info saying that Michael was being held up by a group of students and the three of them set off for the rescue mission.
It was a surprise when I learnt about Miranda wanted to become a Vampire, and I thought she was content with her power being a seer. But frankly speaking, we don't know her that much because Miranda seldom made an appearance in the main books. Hopefully when the story progress (book 7 - 15), we'll learn more about her, and I like her to be in team Glasshouse because she would be powerful allies!
This is one of the longer short stories I've read from Caine. I love short stories that add a little context to the overall feel of the series and that we get another character's point of view. It's definitely interesting seeing someone else's point of view on how they view Morganville and Claire who is the protagonist of the series. Even down to their inner monologue it's intriguing seeing just how vastly different characters can be from one another.
This was a great short story that showed the Scooby gang working together to help a friend in need. Despite, Miranda being the reason why they are in that situation they still did the right thing and protected her from a thirsty vampire out for blood.
Actually quite enjoyed this short story. I read it in a book of short stories so it's a bit ahead of where I'm actually up to in the Morganville Vampires series. I read them a long time ago and want to finish the series off soon though! But enjoyable all the same and I didn't feel like I was missing major plot points by having not read all the previous books.
Eve is a BAMF! This is part of Midnight Bites so I don’t want to count it as a book. Not only did she demand Oliver dance with her, she chased Gloriana out the building and confronted her, and won! There were times during the series I wanted to smack her around, but Eve is a great character. I’d want her on my team for sure.
Loved this story, because it means it's been about a year, that Claire's been dealing with Morganville, because she's going back to the Dead Girls' Dance! Loved this story with the residents of Glass House all dressed up!
"Dating the undead is a bad idea. Everybody in Morganville knows that—everybody breathing, that is. Everybody but me, apparently. Eve Rosser, dater of the undead, dumb-ass breaker of rules."
A #6.5 installment in the Morganville Vampires Series.
A short story called "All Hallows" takes place on Halloween. Eve, Michael, Shane and Claire are getting ready for a costume party in a downtown warehouse. Eve is the narrator of the story and it is wonderful to see things from her perspective.
Just as they were finished dressing up, Michael had to leave to the blood bank fast (encouraged by his girlfriend and her tight catwoman costume). That left Eve alone with her friends. Shane was the first one to turn things into his favor. He took off his costume and put on a Hugh Heffner one with two beautiful ladies escorting him to the party.
Catwoman Eve turned heads around. She was everything but subtle. Whereas Claire was dressed in a long pink dress accompanied with pink wings and glitter on her face representing a fairy. Party was in full motion and still no sign of Michael. Which got Eve worried so she went to find him.
Apparently, he never made it to the blood bank because he has gotten himself in some kind of a situation with a few jocks down at Morganville High. Eve, Claire and Shane made a hasty exit and left to help Michael.
Review.
A beautiful story that shows us the real emotions of main characters. Shane and Claire are not in main focus here but from everything they do you can see their affection and closeness.
"You look fabulous," he told her, and kissed her. "Oh, crap, now I've got glitter, right? Leatherface does not do glitter. It's not manly." Claire and I both rolled our eyes, right on cue. "Right. Small price to pay for the privilege of kissing such a beautiful girl, what was I thinking? Sorry."
While, Michael and Eve are on fire. I mean, they are the sexiest couple in Morganville. Eve is a real woman trying to impress her man and she isn't being shy about it. Michael, the angelic looking tough guy musician is overwhelmed by Eve's sex appeal, so much in fact that he needs to make a stop at the blood bank because of his condition.
They are adorable. And hot. And I never tire of reading about them.
"He put his arms around me and kissed me. That was a whole different kind of hunger, one I understood way better. Michael backed me up against the car and kissed me like it was the last night on earth, like the sun and stars would burn down before he'd let me go."
And I melt into a puddle... I know, they got to me...
All in all, it is a valuable read because it holds clues and speculations on what will happen next and let's never forget how well does it do with humor.
"It's a guy thing. We have reactions to women in tight leather with whips. It's sort of involuntary."
The back door popped open, and Claire, fairy wings all a-flutter, pulled Miranda inside. It was like a military operation, only with one hundred percent less camouflage.
I'm ever so slightly concerned with Miranda's prediction, but all things considered it may be a thread that dead ended. Or it may come back in a later installment. We'll see. It hasn't come back into play yet and we are awaiting the release of book 14.
I love Halloween, but I feel sad knowing that the Glass House four can't celebrate it normally. Or Morganville residents in general for that matter. Personally, I go with the whole honoring of the day of the dead thing and not the spooky creepy side. I love that Shane traded Leatherface for Hef! That was awesome.
Anyway, has a party in Morganville ever ended as one would expect it to? This one certainly didn't.
The one bothersome part in this extra is how Eve describes her car...black sedan...it's usually described as "the hearse." However, as this story is from Eve's point of view perhaps she does see the hearse as something as simple as a black sedan.
Thank you for sharing these extras with us, Rachel!
Ok, now I'm nervous and anxious for what's going to happen in the next book! Pennywell??? This is not good for our crew in Morganville!
You know that moment in Jurassic Park #1 when the finally get the computers working and get out of that room only to find the Velociraptors have made into the main lobby and then here comes the T-Rex?
Well that's what kind of what this is like with Because now we have Pennywell to worry about! And that can not be a good thing!!!
I seriously love this series though and NOW I can't wait to read Fade Out!!!
All Hallows is book #6.5 in the Morganville Series by Rachel Caine. This short story is from Eve's point of view and takes place on Halloween. Eve, Claire, Shane, and Michael are heading to a costume party. Michael plans to meet the gang there, after a trip to the blood bank. When Michael is delayed, the gang heads to his rescue and end up in even more trouble. I enjoyed this shortie and reading about CB from Eve's perspective.
All Morganville Vamps fans must read it – it’s a great story from Eve’s POV, giving us another look at the fiascos that come with celebrating Halloween in Morganville. We get to laugh and scream with Eve, Michael, Clare (CB XD) and Shane, and enjoy the addition of hilariously-addled Miranda. Loved it! Made me go back to the series after a break of a couple of months.
This was a good story about the four main characters going to a party. Michael disappears to go to the food bank and gets in a bit of trouble on the way. It was a good story and it was nice having Eve and Michael as the main two of the story. A nice story but I do not think it is needed with the series. x
Another dangerous night in Morganville and this novella made me wish for more Eve and Michaal. And Miranda made an appearence again. I actually like her and those things she says are super creepy sometimes. Shane got his fantasy in this halloween with the Hefner costume. So it was fun night in Morganville.

title: All Hallows Series: The Morganville Vampires #6.6 Author: Rachel Caine
Far too much happens in this novella for just 36 pages, Michael gets kidnapped. Everyone thinks Eve is a wannabe vamp. Claire looks cute. Shane and Eve are friends. Just, a lot went down for 36 pages.
This is a short story from Eve's point of view. I love these characters. This book was mainly a Halloween adventure for the three main characters. Well if you read the series you know adventure means life or death event! This story ended with one of Miranda's visions, which never really make sense!
Better Halloween that the previous year, but you would think with how bad that one was that they would choose to stay home at night to avoid trouble, not just the normal Morganville night kind, but more......but no they go out and trouble does find them once again.
