In the sequel to Of Wolves and Men we find ATF Agent Roman Burk and horse wrangler Charlie Mosby, still investigating the strange curse they have been burdened with.
Charlie struggles to come to terms with his boss and co-workers on the horse ranch in Heber, Utah, knowing he is Roman's gay lover. This new problem of changing into a wolf or crow whenever they grow angry or emotional, has both Charlie and Roman near the end of their rope.
Roman loves Charlie, but he loves his job back in Reno as well. Though Charlie has been his champion and ally through their ordeal, Roman doesn't know if Charlie would be willing to give up his life and career and join him in the city.
Another wrangler, Butch Crowell complicates the situation for the two men, whose life is already too bizarre for either of them to believe. Butch instills jealousy in Roman as he too becomes enamored with the handsome cowboy Charlie. In the end, it's up to Charlie to decide which path to choose, and if leaving a place where he has lived and worked for years is the best course of action.
The Order of Wolves. is about the alpha male, and who will inevitably be top dog.

You really have to have read "Of Wolves and Men" for this story to make any sense of all, and, since it is such a great read, be prepared to be wowed twice!
Charlie and Roman's adventure continues, as Charlie struggles with becoming a shifter, fights his growing attraction to Roman, and tries to hold his life together as his beloved job may have to end. Wolves and horses - not such good friends, you know.
I really enjoyed Roman's story with the FBI, and how he holds out hope that his life may be able to go back to normal. He and Charlie fight the odds not only against them as a couple, but of ever being able to go back to the lives they led before as strong, independent men happy with their careers.
This sequel leads us through the fight for the two men to take back their lives from the witch that cursed them both, and how they reconcile their love for each other with their inevitable losses.
I really like that there is a backdoor left open for a third book in the series. This is NOT your momma's werewolf story, THANK GOD.
Very highly recommended - although I am not sure the average reader will appreciate the quirkiness of these two books.
So as the world’s number one shifter fan, I was truly blessed (yes, I take my shifter stories that seriously) to discover “Of Wolves and Men” at the same time as this book, so I read them together. I even read them in the correct order!
What you need to know about these books is that the characters are great. Roman is a great guy who has a really unusual predicament, having been screwed by a witch (and not in the good way) because she was basically bored. Charlie is the dumb cowboy who is far from dumb. Vernon, his wife and daughters are well-rounded. And Butch…well, he’s a schmuck, but even he knows it and he might be redeemable.
The series is fantastic and I recommend it highly. I have faith that there will be a third book.
