The Alex Rider series are well-written but not the most imaginative novels. Perhaps I feel this way because they are directed at children. Many other novels by Anthony Horowitz are imaginative and more engaging. He is one of the most gifted authors in the UK. I wish he'd focus more on murder mysteries than books about Alex Rider.
