Gosho Aoyama (青山剛昌) is a Japanese manga artist. He is best known as the creator of the manga series Detective Conan (known in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom as Case Closed).
Aoyama made his debut as a manga artist with the work Chotto Matte which was published in the weekly magazine Shōnen Sunday on winter of 1987. Shortly after that, another work by Aoyama, Magic Kaito, was published on the same magazine.
The resolutions in recent Case Closed volumes have felt increasingly underwhelming, and unfortunately, Volume 70 stands out as one of the weakest yet. While there were a few intriguing cases and some key details revealed, the volume was bogged down by too many illogical scenes that stretched the believability of the mysteries.
One of the biggest issues for me was the overwhelming amount of info-dumping. Rather than letting the story unfold naturally, it felt like we were being spoon-fed too much information all at once, which disrupted the flow and took away from the suspense. I found myself wishing for a more balanced approach, where the mysteries could breathe and develop at a more natural pace.
That said, there’s still potential here, and I remain hopeful that future volumes will improve.
This volume wraps up a kidnapping story that started in volume 69. I think it has a great ending and much happier than I assumed it would be. Next, we have the return of the Kaito Kid, but this time instead of stealing something...he is returning something! Fun twist on his usual appearances. The next story has Harley and Detective Conan working to debunk a ghost story. Detective Richard Moore and Rachel Moore are along for the ride as well. This story ended up being much bigger than I anticipated it would be, but it was different and when you are reading the 70th volume of a book, new can be challenging. Gosho Aoyama succeeds in making this volume feel both familiar and yet different enough. The story ends this volume, which I felt read very quickly.
Exciting volume. Starts out with an unrequited love story for detective Chiba, where he is predictably clueless. The next long story is about Conan, Ran and Mori going to London, where they get involved in a case involving a serial murderer leaving clues as to where he intends to set off his next explosive device so he can taunt the police with it when they fail. The interesting thing with this story was how Shinichi has to take a pill to temporarily be his adult self so he can fly to London with his passport (because Conan doesn't actually exist) and somehow he gets caught by Ran. It concludes in the next volume.
General Synopsis: As mentioned above, I am going to write a proper review for this soon, but I have a few books ahead of this one in the queue, so I cannot stop reading DC NOW! That's sacrilege. I have decided to read all the chapters available up to now (we are almost to 1000!) As you can see, I am totally fangirling over here and I don't care, because this is one of my favorite manga series, ever! But all of this aside, there are a few things I wanted to list so I don't need to go back and look everything up when I do finally sit down and write my fangirl review. ✌🏻
DO NOT click on the spoiler link if you don't want to read all the cases in this volume, because it will ruin it for you. On the other hand, if you're a fan like me or are looking for a certain case (and please note, these are how I have set the cases), etc. click away, that's why it's there.
Another spoiler link, so don't click if you don't want to ruin this manga. I am going to include the characters introduced or as the series continues are in this volume. Personally, I think us DC fans love certain characters more than other (yes, Heiji, I mean you!), so sometimes when we are re-reading this series (like all the time!) you might wish to start at a specific case or start when a certain character is involved.
Characters in this volume:
Personal Opinion: #1, I never call this CASE CLOSED. If you do, you're not a true fan of this series, so don't even bother reading my review or my personal opinions. I'm sorry if I offend you, but you offended me first by telling me you want to read CASE CLOSED or you just love Jimmy.
#2, as you can tell by #1, I read this online. I would never waste my money buying a manga series in english that cannot get the name correct and mess up the main characters to make it appear more "ENGLISH." I am so happy I don't run a blog and this isn't a review on Sailor Moon, #1, because I have a huge soap box tirade against DiC. I also don't think there is anything against reading something online. Comics, which is what manga are, are meant to be read and shared and sometimes paying over $10 is too much in my opinion. Plus, I read the newest chapters as soon as they are released from Japan, because I would never miss a release of DC. So this is my personal shout out to you translators from me, Thank You!
THE HAUNTED VILLA AND THE MISSING BOY While stranded on a stormy mountain, the Detective Boys take refuge in a mysterious villa where eerie piano music plays. They discover a chilling diary detailing a planned kidnapping and murder, along with an empty coffin hinting that the intended victim may still be alive. A sudden blackout heightens the tension as Conan leads the team through the dark house to uncover the truth. Ayumi’s discovery of a family photo and a leaking room sets the stage for a haunting revelation.
KAITOU KID AND THE RYOMA EXHIBIT HEIST Jirokichi Suzuki’s Ryoma exhibit becomes the target of Kaitou Kid, who announces his plan to return stolen historical artifacts tied to the legendary samurai. The centerpiece of the exhibit—a gunbelt with a large ruby—draws Kid's attention, but Jirokichi hesitates to buy it before verification. Inspector Nakamori and Superintendent Chaki devise a plan to capture Kid upon his return, but with Kid's cunning and the legacy of the Phantom Lady’s past thefts at play, nothing is certain.
THE INHERITANCE MURDERS Heiji invites Conan and the others to investigate a string of mysterious deaths among the heirs of the Inubushi family, linked to the legend of a fiery demon dog. As heirs begin dying under suspicious circumstances, including fiery attacks and fall from the cliff, Conan and Heiji uncover a twisted inheritance battle. A sealed room murder and the discovery of game-related objects near the victims deepen the mystery.
THE DEMON DOG'S CURSE Conan and Heiji’s search leads them to the Inubushi family estate, where they unravel the dark history behind the demon dog legend. A burning set of paw prints and a string of calculated murders point to a carefully orchestrated plot. A desperate confrontation with the demon dog reveals the mastermind’s hidden lair—a cabin concealing evidence of a trained dog. Another fall from the cliff and a near-fatal attack push Conan and Heiji toward uncovering the true motive behind the killings.
kasus Air on the G String bikin penasaran pengen dengerin lagunya, jadinya langsung download XD yeeaahhh KID muncul lagi aaaaaa <3 <3 <3 kasus yang anjing setan awalnya beneran percaya kalo itu bukan rekayasa, hmm nyatanya-_-
