Allow me to teach you a simple, magical way to change your day-to-day experience of the world. A way to affect your life for the better, moment by moment. A way to get things to go your way. A ridiculously simple way to make things happen.
I call it ‘The Ultimate Technique’.
Are you looking for better finances, great relationships, resolution of old problems, luck and good fortune, fun, adventure or just a generally happier experience of life? There is no reason why these good things cannot be yours. All that is needed is a little effort to nudge things in the direction you want them to go. This is where The Ultimate Technique come in. It is the easiest and most effective way I know to shift direction, get the magic working and cause massive changes as a result.
This is the sixth book I’ve written on the subject of using magic to create a better life. But this magic is not witchcraft. It does not involve energies or candles or raising spirits. It is simply a way of doing things a little differently. And in a way that leads to an exceptionally fun and effortless life.
I’ve been working with magic for over ten years and I like to think I’ve become pretty good at it. But just occasionally, a flash of insight will still come along and stop me in my tracks. I’ll slap my forehead and wonder, ‘why didn’t I think of that before?’
The Ultimate Technique is the result of one of those insights.
There is a sense of ‘obviousness’ about The Ultimate Technique. You may find yourself thinking, ‘Of course it works this way!’ or even wondering why you didn’t think of it yourself. The technique can be learnt quickly and started instantly. You could begin using it before you’ve even finished reading the book.
This is an advanced technique, but in many ways, it’s just an extension of what I have taught before. It is a direct development of my 'Magic Words' technique from the book, Magic Words and How to Use Them. Those familiar with my work should find it easy. But even those new to my work should be able to get the hang of it. Anyone can do it, and results tend to come rapidly.
But why the ‘ultimate’ technique?
And at some point on this spiritual path, often only after we’ve created all that we could ever want, we get to the stage of no longer needing to change the outside world.
We start to realise we never needed to change the outside world. At this point, the need for techniques, tools and methods for making things better drops away.
So there’s a lot more to this short book than a manifestation technique for changing our physical world. There are also tantalising glimpses of what lies beneath this physical world, to what’s really here, what’s really true.
This is where the Law of Attraction meets nonduality. At the juncture of this place, I offer this, my ultimate technique for making things happen.
Most of this book was review for me, but I found it inspiring and really enjoyed it nonetheless.
Basically, think about how you want various aspects of your life to be, then praise them into being that. Refuse to speak or think the old story again, just the new story. But don’t jump so far ahead that it’s not true. (Ex. If you’re broke, try “More and more money keeps coming my way!” Vs. “I’m so happy I’m now a millionaire!”)
Then add the senses to it: visualize what you’ll see, hear, touch, taste, smell, and feel emotionally when your desire manifests into your reality.
Then add gratitude.
Then add continually looking for evidence that supports the new story and using it to “prove” to yourself that it’s true.
Then add trust / surrender / not being attached to outcome / genuinely being ok with things as they are now. Supercharge!
I finished this in a cabin in the woods, and it’s so easy to be happy here and to look around and see proof that my life really is the way I want it to be, that I decided to stay three extra nights. Ahhhhhh. Life is good.
This book is a version of ‘manifestation,’ which uses the language of ‘magic’ to explain its claim.
As with other books in the genre, the author begins by telling readers how successful she is, in terms of money, friends, success, etc (4%).
Then the author introduces a theory of paradox. She states: ‘Please try not to be unnerved by paradoxes, inconsistencies or contradictions in what I say.’ (9%) Instead, readers should instead try to ‘feel their way’ forward. But how can anyone feel their way through a contradiction? When claims can be both true and false (ie contradictory), they cease to have any meaning because any, and every claim is consistent with a contradiction. This means that the book becomes literally meaningless.
The author insists that this is not a problem. ‘Once you let go of reason, logic and certainty, the apparent paradoxes disappear.’ (14%). But that is not true. What disappears when we stop thinking about a problem, is our awareness of the problem, not the problem itself.
At the heart of the book the author repeats the central claims of her previous book ‘Magic Words,’ telling us that we are all ‘reality generators,’ creating the reality we experience by imposing concepts upon it. To put it another way, ‘Beliefs don’t just create HOW I see the world, they create the world in the first place (29%)
This is simply not true. Yes, thinking influences how we conceptualize the world, but the fact that different people have similar experiences of rivers and trees shows us that there is an underlying reality which causally explains our experiences. It is implausible to think that if humans never existed on earth, then cats and dogs, and trees and rivers would never have existed. The book is implausible when it makes claims such as ‘Again and again and again the universe is created from nothing by you. Without you there is no universe.’ (75%). No! Dinosaurs managed to exist perfectly well in the absence of humans, so humans cannot create the universe.
This philosophical muddle, at the heart of the book, leads to implications of victim blaming. The author claims: ‘So all you need to do to change your life is to pick a story you would like to be true and start speaking only in terms of that story.’ (37%). But if that were really so, then it would mean that victims of crime, abuse, racism, etc. are essentially at fault for their situation, because they could change it easily by just thinking differently.
Is the author really blaming victims? Yes, and that becomes clear when the author explains to us that trains turn up three minutes late because of the stories we tell ourselves (75%). Our misfortunes (like late trains) are our fault, because we don’t tell ourselves alternative stories. So, the poor, the unemployed, victims of rape, murder and robbery are essentially all at fault, because they could change their situation by just thinking differently.
That is a conclusion which many readers will find deeply distasteful!
The final chapter of the book is a bizarre self-undermining of the author’s own position. The author tells readers that when she looks at her books, her ideas ‘just don’t look so true any more.’ (87%). That means that maybe this book will also turn out to 'not look so true.' And if that is the case, then perhaps readers should just stop worrying about everything and just accept that ‘the world is already perfect’ (92%). Really? So there are no famines or disasters needing International Aid, there are no abuses of human rights to challenge, no crimes to try and solve.? Everything is 'already perfect' (?). That is an astonishing conclusion.
Ultimately this is a conspiracy theory, presenting a bizarre view of reality which leads to morally dubious conclusions. By the end of the book some readers may well feel a degree of revulsion or moral repugnance at its implications.
Missing some substance. It was just a complicated rewrite of a lot of the law of attraction. There are many great teachers of law of attraction that make it easier to understand and have great take aways. Also there are books that talk about actual words to use to attraction certain things.
I have read two of this writer’s books and this one. The other two were good but she nearly sounded as if she needed to promote her other books or workshops. I did find it unnecessary even nearly annoying. In this book, she doesn’t do that and in fact it feels that she found her way out of her some sort of struggle or fear. She no longer seems to long for the recognition or promotion that she kept pushing it forward in her previous books. In this book, you will find anything different. I like her tone and writing style better in this book, however, I prefer Richard Dotts’ to the point approach even more. Overall, it is an enjoyable read.
I’m not sure how I would describe this book without revealing some of the aspects of it, but out of context. Looking back it leads you through to a thought provoking conclusion via a path that touches on quantum physics, the law of attraction, why you have to be careful of what you wish for ( or complain about) and how to bring the future you want into reality. The last chapter is really fascinating but will not make sense without reading the preceding chapters first so please dont skip ahead. This is the book that really delves into the core of manifesting anything into a reality that was just waiting for you to catch up from the get go.
I found this short book interesting. I’ve been in a bit of a state of surrender or accepting everything is ok while also living my mundane life and driving to make things better. Not a lot was brand new to me in this but it was simple and condensed. She’s right I had plenty of moments my brain was like this is complete crap. But other times I definitely felt like it was want I needed to read and try to understand. Magic is like that to me, maybe to all of us. We play at understanding and striving and all we can do is really just do and imagine a different outcome or way. But it’s still all the same in the end all ways lead to the one. Life love Magic.
I was really looking forward to reading this book and it didn't disappoint. It was easy to read as Genevieve delivers her work in a way that is digestible for all. I had a few aha moments and my understanding has deepened (I'm a member of the Academy of Magic and this is a great addition to the teachings from the Academy). I feel fantastic since reading and knowing that everything is ok, here, right now, it really is. I would recommend Genevieve's work to anyone on this path wherever you might currently be, and this book is a must have.
Magic. Life is magic. It is up to you to believe that dreams can come true, that meaningful relationships can happen, and you can see and do things you never thought possible. This book goes into the reality that we do make our life our own. We make the magic happen. You just have to believe. I think it is a great book to return to for that reminder, as life gets crazy, and we need to be reminded to reset our outlook.
I recommend reading her book, Magic Words and How to Use Them, as a complementary book to this one.
Not quite as good as Davis' Magic Words, this continues her explanation of the use of 'Magic' to remake your world.
Although cloaked by being called 'Magic,' her method is a combination of cognitive reframing, Neural Linguistic Programming, and some tenets of stoicism. What sets her books aside is that she presents the idea in plain language and a pragmatic approach of starting small rather than having grand plans.
What was the point of teaching people to create the life they desire , building a person's expectation of creating a new life only to at the end tell them it won't work just to be in the moment and everything will be OK. For some people their hopes just came crashing down how cruel.
...but the exact thing that I needed. I have been in an awfully dark, despondent, destitute, lonely and poverty-ridden place. This book really does have the answers, the tools, and the idea(s). BUT PROMISE ME YOU WILL FINISH THE WHOLE THING. It will literally change your life.
This book is a wonderful read enlightening to the soul. It shows your soul. The things that go on in a daily life are things that are just okay to be, so you just gotta let it be okay. Write that story for yourself. And it will direct you in the right direction in life.
A good reminder of the steps to take when manifesting
I enjoyed this book and it is well written, easy to digest and implement. I don't feel that there's anything new in it for me, but it is a good reminder of the steps to take when manifesting.
I have read every single book of the Magic Series and this one was just as good. Simple and effective, it is easy to implement and deep enough to pour our mind and heart into this. Amazing book again!!!
You get what you pay for. There will be time when you will have to read between the line to understand things. Everything is not always in plain sight. And Yes I would recommend this book if you are looking for a new perspective.
I love thr.narrative, the author is cleat and concise. She uses and explain the Law of attraction with a new twist. She is honest on how to go about acquire what we want and does not sugar coat it.
What did I like or dislike? The book is okay, if you are new to manifestation it's a good read and ok introduction- if you read a lot and know a lot already its basic but a good reminder I guess
A delightful method to manifest the life you want and deserve by "letting everything be okay " and facing the paradox of action and non-action. I'm glad I read this book to remember what I've always known.
Magic is a subtopic of the paranormal literature that is divided into two differing philosophies. One says that one needs physical effort, and the other says it can all come together as if out of thin air. I like the second idea.
I didn’t expect this book to be as deep as it is. I thought it was going to give some secrets on manifesting, but it’s so much more than that (although, that too). An amazing book!
I love the way this book is written. It describes a similar journey to mine. I too love and use words to describe and shape my reality. I am also realising life is perfect now.
I’ve read every book Genevieve has written. I absolutely love them all and I’ve read each of them more than once. This book was just as wonderful as the others. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I will read it again many times I’m sure!
Filled with insights into the challenge one faces along the path of realizing your best life, only to finally conclude that it's best to 'let go and let God'.
It’s a book on mind and manifestation. Overall, a good read with discussions on various techniques: affirmations, magic words, correct visualisation and most importantly beliefs.
