Despite blowing off my TV classes at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, I am now a TV producer and prior to that a newsroom assignment editor.
My first love(and media success) is/was radio, which has changed so drastically over the last few decades it's nearly unrecognizable.
Because of that love of painting 'mental picture,' I've been able to cross off an item on my Bucket List, that of being a published writer through e-pub house - Decadent Publishing!
And, now -- on to my bio!

I love the 1NS series. I have read several. This is the first book of Wendy Burke's that I have read. Let me just say, it was the most moving of all of the 1NS series I have read. This book was beautiful. I cried. Thank you so much Wendy for the touching story. To imagine your husband would plan this for you after his death. That he loved you enough for that. So beautful.

The One He Chose by Wendy Burke is the twenty-sixth book in the 1NightStand series and is a heartbreakingly, sweet story. This story is about love and loss, and finding love again; it was just an emotional ride. I know this is one of the stories I won’t forget any time soon.

Grace is a forty two year old widow. Before he died, her husband, Ben arranged for her to have a 1 Night Stand.
This was a wonderful story and although I’ve enjoyed others in this series, I have to say this is my favorite so far. I was immediately drawn to Grace who is going through a bad time one year after her husband’s death. She has some very supportive people in her life including her brother and a neighbor named Jake who, like Grace, is immediately likeable.
It’s difficult to explain why I enjoyed this story without giving away the plot but let me just say that Ben set up Grace’s 1 Night Stand in the beautiful Canadian Rockies and it gives you a feel how much love the two of them shared. The author did a great job describing the scenery and accommodations in this story. Grace hikes to a secluded cabin, and it’s there she gets to meet her date. I had a feeling who it would be and was happy I was right. I think you will be too when you read this story. It contains a few letters from Ben to Grace which will pull on your heartstrings and added a lovely touch.
Ms. Burke did a wonderful job creating this moving story in such a short read and I highly recommend The One He Chose to you, especially if you’re new to this series.

On the one-year anniversary of her husband's death, Grace Witzler gets a very unexpected gift from beyond the grave. Wanting his wife to start living again, Ben set up a vacation before his death at a resort known for its erotic couplings. If that's not shocking enough to Grace, the person Ben sends to share the vacation with her is even more unexpected. As unexpected as it is, it just may be the best thing for her if she's willing to open her heart again.
This is a short story that is anything but short when it comes to the emotional impact of the storyline. Add in likable characters and steamy encounters and you have a great addition to the 1 Night Stand series.
Grace is understandably still mourning her husband at the start of the story but is showing some attraction to her neighbor, and long-time friend of her deceased husband, Jake Van Abel. She appreciates the man-about-house role that he's undertaken and is starting to appreciate his body too. She's always felt a connection to him but things have never progressed further.
Jake is someone every woman wishes she had in her life. He's strong, dependable, loyal, and not afraid to show his emotions when warranted. He too has felt that connection with Grace but out of friendship for Ben he never acted on it. He's been quietly supportive of Grace for the last year but desperately wants to make his move now and you can't help but root for this true gentlemen.
Once Grace meets her mystery man the emotions aroused go off the charts. Both individuals have to come to a level of acceptance and a removal of guilt which happens after a lot of tears. The sexual encounters are steamy and emotionally intense and there's a feeling of soul-deep connection occurring.
This is an intense tearjerker where the power of love is shown at its strongest. True selfishness amidst upcoming death is the ultimate display of love and you can't help but mourn Ben too for what he's done for his wife. Have a box of tissues handy when reading and enjoy this thoroughly satisfying story.

This was a wonderful read. I was hoping these two souls would find a way to be together from the beginning. I don’t like spoilers so I will try not to give anything away. Grace was married to a man who loved her very much and she loved him with the same devotion but he died and left her a widow. She finds out that before his death he arranged a wonderful gift for her. She is confused by the instructions she receives regarding the trip but decides to trust him one more time. She has to go and see what happens.
The mystery date is a man who has loved her for a very long time and never told her how he felt. He isn’t sure how Grace is going to react to his presence but he has to take the chance. If he doesn’t, he knows he will regret it.
This story was written with heart and is a touching tale about love, loss and loving again. A must read for anyone who understands that good people deserve love whenever and where ever it can be found.

What an emotional ride THE ONE HE CHOSE is. Those who don't know me, I'm a bit of a sop, and cry at nearly anything remotely emotional. Ms.Burke sure made my tears roll with this lovely addition to Decadent Publishing's 1 Night Stand Series
One year after loosing her husband, Grace gets a letter informing her that her late husband has arranged a luxury weekend away in the Canadian Rockies. And not just any weekend away. Oh no. This weekend away is arranged via Madame Eve's exclusive match-making agency, 1 NightStand to which a date has been arranged for her. A date her husband has made for her. Such a selfless act, on her husbands part, and I really felt for Grace in her predicament. Both Grace and her late husband, Ben, have stayed with me long after reading the last page. To me, that's the sign of a well written book. Short is may be. But nothing was skimped in telling this tale!

Grace Wizler is widowed at 42, her husband before dying set up a special appointment in a mountain cabin one year after his death. Grace is in great shape for her age and is much too young to quit having a sex life!

This was short and sweet about finding love that was already there. There isn't really a big surprise who the 'lover' is, but I won't spoil you here.

Suprising Character depth with a wealth of emotion.
This short story packs a punch. Be prepared with kleenex. It has suprising depth and character development with genuine emotion. If you are looking for a cathartic release and beautiful sensual love scenes this in a quick read this one is for you. I truly enjoyed it.

I read another in this series from the author and enjoyed it so much, that I had to read this one too.
Whilst this wasn't the most original plot, it was beautifully written and very emotional. I loved the concept of the husband looking out for her from beyond the grave so to speak.
Left me with a big grin on my face.

I really enjoyed it, I just wish it was a bit longer. Being the smut lover that I am, I could have used a bit more detail in the nookie department, then again the emotion involved made up for it. :)

A very enjoyable story! I don't want to say who Grace's husband Ben chose for her 1 Night Stand date, but let's just say that I liked his choice. :) It was a very sweet and touching and sexy read.
