Edit: This is Jack's 300th unique book! 700 to go before kindergarten. LOL
Jack borrowed this book from the Ashland Public Library.
I picked it because he loves our neighborhood dogs and the other books in this series, and I'm trying to get him to enjoy new books again. Not that I don't love reading Little Blue Truck's Valentine thirteen times a day.
Anyway, it was a success! Jack stayed with me for the whole reading and felt the textures on every single page. He enjoyed seeing the different types of dogs, especially the border collie that looks like Nana's dog and the final dog, which looks like Rory, his favorite neighborhood dog!
This is our third book in the That's not my... series. I bought it because my son is obsessed with our dog and all dogs in general, but for some reason this book doesn't do it for him. He really liked That's not my polar bear, so I hoped he would like other books in the series, but so far the dragon book and now the dog book haven't pleased him as much. Maybe it's because none of these dogs look like our dog? Or because none of the textures are new or exciting for him? I'm not sure. Whatever it is, he barely touches this one, which bums me out. I still like it, though.
We got this one and That's not my puppy out from the library at the same time. The puppies are fairly indistinguishable from the dogs in size but both books are quite different, with different dog breeds in different poses.
