The story would have been better without the L word but the ending was surprisingly realistic.Not for romance lovers...

Not your standard ménage story, this is an interesting look at a committed couple adding a third man to their (sex) lives. The issues all three of them have are very real, not glossed over and make for an interesting psychological study – never mind some extremely hot sex.
Owen is a man who likes his solitary time, but still wants occasional human contact. So far, he has had trouble finding the right balance, and not having many people understand him makes his life less fulfilled than it could be. It was fascinating to watch him fall for Davin and Sebastian – in his very own way. While his love for both of them became more obvious as time passed, the distance he needed at the same time was equally palpable.
Davin and Sebastian are so in love, and so close, it is hard to imagine them wanting a third person. But, as the story develops, their need becomes obvious: there are some things they cannot do for each other. Rather than miss them, they set out to try to find a solution via getting a third person to help them out. Needless to say, they will not do that with just anyone. Finding Owen is a stroke of luck for them in more than one way: he fits them perfectly when he is with them, but he has no need to be there all the time. Just like they are not looking for a full-time partner.
If you like ménages that mean more than hot three-way sex, if the psychological side of a relationship fascinates you as much as the physical and if you want to read about three men defining a new and very individual way to have a relationship with each other, you will probably like this book.

I really like the slightly unusual relationship these 3 men had.
the sex scenes were hot but the only negative point was the author never mentioned condom ! and that's a big NO-NO for me.
that's why it only have 3 stars instead of the 4 I wanted to give it.

I love a good low-angst story of a "Me and Them" becoming ''Us". Quite fascinates me a couple accepting another man into their relationship and understanding the necessity of that missing piece in their lives. But this one......Can be better explained with:
"(...)They wanted—perhaps even needed—him, but he would never be their priority. They had a life outside the bedroom and he would never be a part of that life. He didn’t wish to be.(...)"
Just as said, as some go to "Us" this one remained in the "Me and Them" spectrum, I never felt the three of them finally becoming a couple, more like a couple and an older friend who really liked each other and had sex sometimes, but each with their separate lives.
“So? There’s two of us and one of you, and whenever we feel like it, we can be three. That’s love too, you know.”
Hmmmm. Still felt somehow incomplete. Perhaps if it was longer might have achieved its full potential.

I don’t know what I was expecting, but Three wasn’t it. This has got to be the most erotic MMM ménage I have ever read. Sebastian and Davin’s seduction of Owen was quick and sexy. Owen can’t believe these two beautiful, younger men want him to share their bed. But, who is he to look a gift horse in the mouth.
Somehow, that one night stand is repeated again and again. Now, I’ve promised honest reviews, so here goes. If you are looking for an angst filled drama suited for the Hallmark Channel…skip this one. Three doesn’t have the most complex storyline and the characters are only developed enough to give them three distinct voices. But, this is an exquisitely written erotic romance. The two plus one love affair works for these gents. I even loved the ending which, though a bit different, left me satisfied. Highly recommend.

An interesting and hot exploration of establishing a new three-way relationship.

2.5 stars. Would have been great if the relationship between the three men was more developed, and the book was longer.
