Asano Katsuya is the spirit of the United States experienced pathologist, He is recruited to police stations in Tokyo to accept a serial murder suspect for personality profiling work. ("Personality profiling" - the spirit of forensic experts to test the behavior of the suspect or speculate that, after a report of items listed) Tokyo police think he planted the suggestion of a clever scam, a few months, to be able to apprehend suspects justice ...... However, things aren't really so smooth as they planned it.
In These Words is a yaoi manga story which is being released chapter by chapter. The paperback version can be bought on line from Guiltpleasure or the electronic version can be bought from Kobo.I have to say at 5.00 pounds per chapter the Kobo version is not good value for money. I think buying the paperback for 12 dollars a chapter is probably better because I had problems reading mine on the Kobo app. The post and package from the US was expensive but it arrived on time and I can hold it in my hand and access it without problems. There is nothing so frustrating as having an e-book that you can't access. Kobo take note!!!
This is a series which is centred on graphic portrayals of rape and violence. At the heart of the story is a mystery. Why have these murders taken place? Asano is the police psychiatrist assigned to interview to extract a confession and details from the murderer Shinohara Keiji, but as he begins to question Shinohara, Asano experiences nightmares, headaches and flashbacks. It is obvious he has some kind of connection to this murderer and the murderer asked for Asano to be the one to interrogate him.
And so this is the mystery that is to be unfolded in this series. I know this series is going to be really good. It reminds me of the creepiness of Silence of the Lambs. So we are in for a really good ride. The downside is that it is going to be an expensive one!!
Accidentally bought this instead of the first volume compilation.
Really regrettin' it. Artwork was gorgeous as expected, however it was extremely short and the opening story wasn't interesting enough to keep me reading. Each chapter is a bit pricey (probably because of the quality of the paper and art) but I feel like for the amount I paid, there could've been more than 52 pages. You can buy most complete manga volumes at full price for less.
Anyway, 3 stars. Gorgeous little thing, but I'm really disappointed. I really love the art, so maybe I'll pick up the entire first volume and give it another go just for that. Chapter-wise though? There are currently fourteen chapters separately and each are pretty expensive. Idk if I'll stick around for that, unless I see them at a Con or something when I have more money/they might be a tad cheaper.
"why are you doing this to me? I've never wronged you"
"I don't need to be wronged to do what I want"
A quick read, slightly confusing (will probably read it again), but interesting enough to make me want to read the next chapter. On a side note: the electronic version is expensive. I searched for a Kobo promo coupon to get a discount on this one, which originally cost just over 8 NZ dollars, but with the discount it got lowered to just over 2 dollars (under 2 US dollars). Also, for the comic book part, it will have to be read on a computer, preferably a desktop, because I could only just read it on my laptop. When I get to read it a second time it will be on my desktop computer so I don't have to squint. However, Kobo take note, you should allow the reader to enlarge the image/writing so that people can enjoy this on smaller devices.
★★★★ = I may not read it again but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This was very expensive to purchase. The only option for digital ebooks was to buy each chapter at $US8 each. Each chapter ranges from 40 - 60 pages. I purchased 4 chapters to see if I would enjoy the story. It's very brutal. It has kidnapping, torture and rape...but the story is additive. I want to know what happens next. Also, the art work is just stunning! I get the cost of the books based on the level of detail in the panels. It was just a little off-putting, at first. I wish the author would collaborate the ebooks into volumes, like the printed books.
Beautiful art but brutal scenes....and I still want more.
Although this is not my type of love story, (It's a love story, of course!) I'm impressed with suspense & mystery. It's PERFECT. And the cliffhanging scene! You can die to know what's the story will be going. Me too.
Was hanging out in the Manga store with my friend. Saw this manga, liked the art-style on the cover, flew over the summary. Psychology murder mystery? "Hell yeah". Bought it. Went home and read it.
This was an intriguing first part, I downloaded onto the Kobo app on my iPad. Did think this was kind a handy. The art work was what initially drew me in, it is stunningly beautiful and I found it really appealing. I notice the first collected edition is out of print, which is a pain as I'd like to get it in paperback. Liked the idea of the storyline, sounded a little different and unusual. Can't wait to read more. Check out the author/artists website here http://guiltpleasure.ecrater.com/
It's much shorter than I imagined. Though I like the style of Jo Chen (Toga Q) a lot, I'm not really used to the idea of purchasing manga/comic books, as they feel much more expensive than text-based ones.
As for the initial part in text, I feel there's much space for improvement. The language is obviously translated from Chinese, and not very good translation.
