Chuck had everything before the vicious attack at McGraw College.
A championship under his belt. Starting for the McGraw College hockey team. A sure shot at the professional league.
Everything crumbles in a firestorm of bullets... all meant for him.
The dark events of the past year turn the muscular, long-haired 6'5" hockey player into a mess. The preppy athlete fell into the darkness, carving tattoos into his skin and piercing himself. Everywhere.
Ever since the head injury, Chuck's cravings grow sicker and darker. The distraction kills his game and his grades.
The only thing that can fix Chuck is satisfying this urge. But with who?
He needs the right woman. Someone unaffiliated with the sorority that nearly ended his life.
When he finally finds the right woman, he knows it in his blood.
Zalika is plus-sized. Introverted. Black.
The type of chick totally marginalized in the McGraw dating scene.
He watches her through her bedroom window. Waiting. Readying himself.
Preparing to take exactly what he wants.

This is the first time that I've read one of your books that seemed to be unfinished. The story seemed to end abruptly. There are many unanswered questions. For instance, why was Chuck the main target? This was the question in book one that still hasn't been answered. What clues or evidence was found in the Dean's house? Who is the male that is helping with these attacks and helped to move the Chuck and Zalika? What job options were presented to Chuck after graduation?
Who was helping the Dean? Why did did the dad blow up the Dean's house? And I absolutely adored Chuck with his crazy ass. The ending was rushed. I'm just still confused. Ms. Jasper stills does it for me. She knows how to right a good dark bwwm romance.
Man! This whole series was one Looney Toons of a ride, and I enjoyed every page of it. The hilarity and hijinks did not stop. I am not even sure if we really found out who was the big bad either, now that I think about it.
Anyways, Chuck and Zalika were a match made in... something. They definitely complemented each other with both being stubborn but knowing when to give a little.
Mona and Diesel will forever be my favorite couple of this series. These two right here brought the most chaotic energy to the series, but with the most common sense. Well, with as much common sense as this series could come it.
Memorable Quotes:
And anyway, if Zalika wants to spend her time with the danger-magnets of Sigma Lambda Tau,...
Mona gives me a weird look and then shrugs. “I get it. I’ve been in weird agreements with white boys who have demon energy. You get caught up sometimes.” ‐--------------------------------------------------------- I can’t tell if he’s joking, being an idiot, or being dead serious. ----‐----------------------------‐‐----------------------- “If they get you into trouble, I’ll kill them.” “You will not murder my friends.” “I might.” “That’s not funny.” ---‐------------------------------------------------------- If conversing with your man doesn’t give you a slight headache, is he really your man?
Jamila Jasper’s “Varsity Stalker: BWWM Dark Hockey Romance” ventures into the depths of dark romance with a narrative that blends suspense, fetish kink, and college hockey. While the premise holds promise, the execution falls short in delivering a cohesive and satisfying storyline.
The plot centers around Chuck, a college hockey player whose life takes a dark turn after being targeted in a series of violent attacks. As the narrative unfolds, Chuck’s descent into darkness is juxtaposed with his burgeoning relationship with Zalika, a plus-sized, introverted woman who becomes entangled in his world of chaos.
One of the primary issues with the book is its lack of resolution and coherence. Readers are left grappling with unanswered questions and loose ends, such as the identity of the assailants targeting Chuck, the motives behind the attacks, and the fate of certain characters. This lack of closure undermines the overall impact of the narrative and leaves readers feeling unsatisfied.
Additionally, the character development feels incomplete, particularly in the case of Chuck and Zalika’s relationship. While their dynamic is portrayed as intense and passionate, it lacks depth and believability. Chuck’s possessive and controlling behavior towards Zalika is unsettling, and their connection is overshadowed by the darker elements of the story.
Despite these shortcomings, Jasper’s writing style remains engaging, with moments of humor and intrigue scattered throughout the narrative. Memorable quotes and witty exchanges between characters add a layer of depth to the story, even amidst its flaws.
Furthermore, the portrayal of college hockey culture and the dynamics of Chuck’s team provide an interesting backdrop for the unfolding drama. However, the exploration of themes such as possessiveness, obsession, and mental health could have been more nuanced and thoughtfully developed.
In conclusion, “Varsity Stalker: BWWM Dark Hockey Romance” offers a tantalizing premise but ultimately falls short in delivering a cohesive and satisfying narrative. While Jasper’s writing style and humor shine through, the lack of resolution and underdeveloped character dynamics detract from the overall impact of the story. Fans of dark romance may find moments of enjoyment in this book, but those seeking a more complete and fulfilling read may be left wanting.

The plot fell through for me with unexplained, attempted murders and kidnappings happening at every corner. There needed to be more details on who wanted him dead and why for me to believe that was a valid storyline. It almost felt like the author included it to prevent this book from being a smut book (no shade to smut books).
The insanity from Chuck and this girls willingness to give in was intriguing to read. I think where I struggled to follow along was the ideas of love. Someone who pierces and tats you when you "disobey" them does not know about love. Dark books like these are always funny because no one in this novel was even remotely normal or aware of what love is. All of the side characters were insane. I definitely failed to see how these two main characters found love out of this situation. There was no change in character for that to be possible and I think that's a key aspect of how to get a dark book to become a dark romance. There needs to be romance involved!
JJ continues to write about college hockey players. In every book I've read. which I think is all of them, the Hockey players are slightly to totally deranged, and have a curious idea of how to acquire and keep a girlfriend. In addition there is something extreme in their possessiveness regarding the women they become involved with. This is probably the las in the series of the Minotaurs, but it left me dissatisfied as there was no clear explanation of who were the agents responsible for wreaking havoc on the team players. The females in these stories seem to be almost equally unhinged, because what person in their right mind with no particular self defense or survival skills pithes themselves into the middle of life threatening situations, especially when they either have a child or are pregnant? The editing on the book was much better, not as many grammatical errors as usual but I would just like to point out that a speedometer clocks the speed at which a vehicle is traveling not the odometer, which tracks the distance travelled. Words matter when they are literally your job.
3.5. I gave the extra .5 because this of the three has been my favorite couple. Chuck comes some type of way from resident nose picker to bad boy. He was what I suppose Zalika had been looking for in her life. The sexy times were sexy, but a little too much pain included for me to really find it hot, personally. Also, the background story or the plot if you will made no sense throughout all of the books. I thought this one would give me a conclusion, but absolutely not. It made no sense why people did what they did because no reasons were given. I guess myself, the characters and the author didn’t even know why. The description of the heroine is why I read these stories, but I wish this was a better book. This is an author that I enjoy reading, but I hope she gives her plus size heroines more consistent great stories. If she continues to write them that is.
You never know what someone is going through after a life changing incident. With previous incidents at McGraw, Chuck has become a changed man. He has these obsessions and needs that he has to fill, but can’t seem to figure out how…until Zalika. She is everything that he has been searching for and needs in his life at this dark moment. You will be drawn into the chaos and drama that is Chuck, Diesel and Jesse. As well as the girls, Mona and Peyton. With plans to finally end this, the boys have their secret meetings, not knowing the girls are doing the same. This series is a must read, preferably in order to get a sense of the madness. DEFINITELY worth it!!!
Deep down I think we all have an infinity to low key like pain when it’s given from the right person. After everything Chuck went through I’m glad he finally got his happy ending. Hopefully in some later books we will finally get the answers we deserve; who is really behind this plot! I need to know because WTH did they do to have someone this obsessed with trying to kill them. Zalika I’m glad finally stood her ground instead of just cowering like a little mouse. This story was so good and made me realize I might be a little dark on the inside.
I am a fan of your writing — dark and twisted, like me. The Laguna Grove series in the same vein felt more complete. I like the possessive stalker thing, but it doesn't give me any resolutions to Zalika and Chuck's story. Is there another story or epilogue coming? Some of the other reviewers list the many questions I have, so I won't repeat them. Aside from that and a few typos, I think Chuck is the hottest of all the hockey boys you've written about — do him some justice. Even Dustin got some closure.

I read all three of the books in this series and was hoping for a big reveal. I’m still left wondering who was helping and who was involved. This book failed to wrap everything up. And who helped move him out of the hospital? I’m left with so many questions, and I am not fan of books like this.
While I’m not one to kink shame, I just couldn’t get into this couple. Chuck changed so much and had so redeeming qualities. I don’t get how she fell for him.
Never a disappointment. The last book in the series was great Chuck and Zalika had a strange but great romance. I loved how he was willing to risk everything to protect her, and she was willing to do the same for him also love that she was willing to stand up to him to make friends, even if it was in a strange way. I’m glad that she ended up getting friends in the day. Ended up getting there happily ever after.
This certainly accomplished the goal of being beyond the line. The troupes of only weird yt boyz like damaged blk girls with low self esteem has a reception arc. The entire series allows for serious disbelief and freedom of expression. I love that for her. What art should be… Very spicy but you need a strong stomach to with stand this one…It takes Stockholm syndrome to the 10th degree…
Chuck's mind reminds me of another person with a dark mind that loves to punish his girlfriend. The relationship starts off twisted but in the end love and romance over comes everything else. This was another great story with everything you don't know what's going to happen.
I am convinced this author no longer gives two bits about plot, continuity nor basic storytelling. I finished it hoping it would get better. It did not. It did, however, get worse. I do not expect much from this genre, but I guess not expecting much was expecting too much.
Ended on a cliffhanger as we never knew who the accomplice was! Basically Mona was so annoying with the kidnapping and always trying to run her friend’s lives! Book 3 would have been better with Mona & Diesel. They were a couple that lived in a glass house. Peyton and Jessie were real ride or die!
This is book 3 in the McGraw hockey series and it was long awaited and anticipated! There were some things left unsolved that I'm wondering about. But nonetheless it was good. Pretty dark, though. But it's what we expect from this author! Great job, Ms. Jasper!
I like the series but hate that all 3 books feel incomplete. At the end of this book, they were trying to figure out who the accomplice was, but there's no mention of it at the end.
Disappointed with all the drama in this intense series of hockey players that are crazy beyond measure...the intense sexual activity, psychological drama following the players and sorority... We still don't know who or why all the killings...
The, have sex and not ONE of them uses protection everyone is knocked up! WTF give your readers some credit and stop belittling us and your characters.
The beginning and middle I liked, but the ending was just not very good. Who helped Ellen? The ending of this book doesn't seem to be plotted very well.
This book def took a turn but I loved it! I just wished it had a more complete ending, nothing was explained and there are several loose ends that weren’t wrapped up.
Y’all this book is soo unfinished!! We got zero answers! Why was the dean kidnapping folks? Why was Chuck the main target? Who shot up that hockey game? Who were the old sorority sister that wanted things to go back? I need Ms. Jasper to give me another chapter or two with the answers
