Adapts the plot of the NES game Mega Man 2 while adding a couple fun twists of its own. Good pacing, great art. Ben Bates' pencils look far more 3-dimensional than Thomas' in the previous volume, with more interesting compositions and kinetic action sequences. It's not ground-breaking by any means, but it's a fun all-ages blockbuster and my favorite in the series so far.

Some more fun little mega man comics, this time adapting the narrative from Mega Man 2. It has some very exciting page layouts, particularly in the fight with Quick Man.

Also glad there’s a nod in here to how busted the metal blade is.

This one started out better, with a more subtle evil plot and some hint of characterisation in the new Robot Masters, inferiority complexes and something to work on to help them - but in the end it all turned out way too easy. That rather messed it up.

At this point, I wish someone were writing an adult gritty Mega Man story geared towards adults.

This ain't it.

Unrealistic expectations aside, I think Ian Flynn does write complicated well thought out stories for what is essentially a child's comic published by Archie Comics.

This volume takes place in Mega Man 2 which is arguably the best of the original franchise. There is a wonderful bit in there where Rock (aka Mega Man) eventually turns to the dark side, but everything is resolved at the end and there is no major cliffhanger.

I have no idea whether or not I will buy the next volume.

Part of me thinks I am just buying these to somehow recapture my childhood.

Perfectly fine story.

There was some appropriate focus on the strange Woodman. (I always assumed that that was some kind of coating, but they suggest he's entirely made of Wood.) There was a unique change to the story to make it more dramatic.

I know they were given personalities, but are anyone's favorite robot masters the MM1 robot masters? I hadn't thought so, but I'm not sure how you'd find out.

Also, wondering why there was so little Yellow Demon.

I read #9 of the Megaman series which is actually #1 of The Return of
Dr. Wily & I actually loved it & also, I was really desperate to buy #10 of the Megaman series. I just can't wait till I get my hands on the 2nd book of The Return of Dr.Wily. Really,really,really can't wait!

This comic just keeps getting better and better. Archie's writers make some sense of the more confusing things about the Mega Man video game series, like why Bubble Man's bubbles actually can do ANY sort of damage.
