I thought the last book in Valorian Chronicles will take us back to Caine Valorian and his Otherworld Crime Unit but it didn't happen. The author should have done a spinoff based on Nouveau-Monde and carried on with Valorian and Co. in this series.

I love Vivi Anna's world of supernatural crime fighters. It is a CSI I would even make time to watch. The entire series has been fantastic as a whole, although all of the books have stand alone storylines. The rekindling of the relationship between Gabriel and Elise was well done with a little Notting Hill flavour (the film). A romance rekindling with a bit of angst but without the horrible tossing back of recriminations which many storytellers lean on as plot filler.

Good end to the series. What kept this book from rating higher: I liked how Elise started out strong, but I felt she become weaker as the book progressed. Less of a victim and slightly more bad-ass would have been better.

Once again Vivi Anna has surpassed my expectations. She took a story many have tried to write but with voice and writing style - she made it into a story no one else has told. She took me out of my setting and plopped me into hers. Loved it. Probably my favorite of this series yet!

Fabulous, realistic characters. Believable dialog. Lots of action. I had trouble putting this one down.

It was a nice read. I find it quite short and think that the plot could have been held longer, but still it is a good book.

Setting: Nouveau Monde - movie studio – her trailer, the set, other storage buildings on the lot; fund-raising party at Grand Hotel; quaint cottage with flower and vegetable garden, and forest – 1 ½ hours from Nouveau Monde;
Characters:
Elise Leroy: sangloup – part wolf part vampire; 1st paranormal to win an Oscar; famous actress; has been getting strange notes, with magazine cut out letters, with bits of poems… the most recent one has blood.
Gabriel Bellmonte: sangloup; crime scene detective/investigator;
Lily May Jones: Elise’ assistant;
Sophia St Clair / Jakob Weiss: NMPD; working with Gabe;
Reginald Alcott: ancient vampire; Elise’s manager; has gotten her outstanding roles;
Diego Martinez: self absorbed, ladies’ man, actor; dated Elise for 4 months, cheated on her, she kicked him out; he is the bad guy in the current movie; he’s having sex with her assistant;
Summary:
Elise and Gabe grew up together… but their families are in 4th generation of a feud… they mated, but could not overcome the strife it caused… and they parted… 15 years later, he is assigned to her case – and he is commanded to guard her…
And though they don’t discuss the past too much (interesting), they do reconnect… sex is better with each other… and the sense of peace and rightness afterwards is strong… they head to her vacation cottage… He is doing his best to solve it… a dead wolf shows up on her doorstep… he leaves her to follow clues (thinking it is Diego)… her manager Reginald shows up – the officer left to protect her is dead; Reginald drugs her with ketamine, and takes her to the movie studio, to the set of the first movie he set her up at… it’s their 10 year anniversary, and he is ready to claim her.. she’s in and out, she fights him… Gabe is frantically trying to figure it out, and they find evidence of Reginald’s obsession with her… remembers the old set, so he returns to studio – and hears her scream – and rescues her. 4 weeks later, they’ve both given up their jobs, and are happily ever after…

After 15 years of separation Gabriel Bellmonte and Elise Leroy found each other again. This time Elise is a movie star having problems with some fan mail that is quite disturbing. Gabriel Bellmonte is the Crime Scene Investigator in charge of finding out who sent the letter and Elise's life.
Having found out that they both love each other still Gabriel loses Elise again do to a kidnapper. Can Gabriel find her in time?????

October 10, 2013ok well this book wasn't anything I thought it would by. I was truly very disappointed when I found out that it was with a werewolf's and vampires. I wasnt anything really that has to do with vampires.(and ultraviolet doesn't count).
But I really didn't finish it, it had more of the feeling of the movie called the underworld so I won't read this one or any other books by this Author sorry. so o don't really recommend this book out

the book was well written characters interesting. I just don't care for the genre I guess. If you enjoy vampires etc it is an excellent read. The writing is good
