Goodreads says that an author may post a review, so let me give it a try.
My purpose in writing The Complete Idiot's Guide to Parliamentary Procedure Fast-Track was to provide an easy, accessible, to-the-point resource for conducting shorter, fairer, more orderly meetings. Unlike some larger books on procedure, this Fast-Track guide has a special focus on smaller meetings, such as governmental bodies and the boards and committees of nonprofits, condo and homeowner associations. The book provides details on the most used motions, appropriate informal procedures for smaller boards, preparing proper agendas, writing effective minutes, and general advice for shortening meetings.
As a new author, I ask that if you have read the book and found it useful, please give the book a rating and review here at Goodreads. That's how readers find new books! Thanks!
I just wanted to say thank you for doing a giveaway for this book, I love learning new things from The Complete Idiot's Guide series. As soon as I finish reading I'll be sure to write a proper review.
There is a limit to how stimulating a book on parliamentary procedure can be, but if you need a quick guide on how to run an effective meeting (including making motions, voting, writing minutes, and dealing with difficult people), this is your book.
I am in FFA and am going to NATIONALS this year, 2012 on the 20th. We are going against 19 other teams, and want to bring home a banner/trophy. This would be an amazing book for me to study!
