My Thoughts:

This closed door romance takes you through the emotions of first loves, heartbreak and the opportunity for second chances when you’re least expecting it. Journey with Sofia as she loves fiercely and loses heartbreakingly and discovers her strengths and ability to love again. If you’re like me you may get frustrated with her decisions but yet totally understand where she’s coming from. Such lovable characters and a great story about the realities of grief and love.

Overall a great love story, actually two love stories, that you should read. Just keep tissues near by.

It reminds you to cherish everything you have and to live in the moment! I loved both Mateo and Luke. It was a heartfelt journey of the heartbreaks we experience and learning we can trust to find love again.

This was a beautiful story of second chances. There is such a mix of both unthinkable heartache and joy in this book by Lorena Faundez Liberti.

My thoughts:
I enjoyed this quick, emotional read. It definitely tugged on my heart strings and I couldn’t help but feel the agony and pain that Sofia must have felt after losing Matteo. I appreciated the author including therapy as a path towards her healing, and I loved all of the support Sofia had in her circle. This book is a reminder of how things can change in an instant and loving another person doesn’t lessen the story you had with your first love.
There are time lapses that did leave me feeling like I missed big parts of the story, but not in a way that caused confusion.
Overall- It was a good, quick read and if you love books that have more of an emotional focus, you will enjoy In An Instant.

In An Instant is a contemporary romance featuring a woman named Sofia. She crosses paths with a man named Matteo Zanetti while out to dinner one night with her SPF crew, a group of coworkers who became fast friends over a shared love of sweet potato fries. The restaurant they went to was owned by Matteo and had been a dream of his for a long time. When Sofia and Matteo met, there was an instant connection. They nurtured this connection and found a deep and profound love. And then she lost him forever. Consumed with unbearable grief, Sofia eventually felt the only way to survive was to leave her life behind and move away.

Years later she returns home to be closer to her friends and family, and to find true closure. Insodoing, she meets someone and while she never expected to find love again, she cannot deny her heart's truth.

This was definitely an emotional read. Even though I knew tragedy was forthcoming, it was still awful to read and to experience Sofia's pain and heartache. I appreciated the author including therapy as a path towards healing. I also loved Sofia's small group of supportive friends and her wonderful parents. Her relationships with both male characters were very different and appropriate at the different times of her life. I also respected Sofia's recognition and acknowledgment of what she needed. Doing what is right for you isn't always easy.

While I enjoyed the epilogue, I did feel like the time leap was unexpected and confused me initially. Overall though, I enjoyed the book.

“I didn’t want to forget our life together, the way we were. The way he was. I never wanted to move on.” 🧁☀️

Review: I devoured this book in an instant (get it). It was super fast-paced, but the relationship didn’t feel rushed. The author captured the chemistry and build-up of romance well, which is often missing from these books! The nervousness and excitement you get on the first date was natural, and I could relate well to Sofia.

I was smiling one moment and ugly crying the next; the emotional turmoil in this book was crazy. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars for me is the time jumps; so much of it passed, and it wasn't easy to understand what was happening for some moments. Sofia got her happy ending through resilience and support; it is a beautiful tragic story. If you’re a Nicholas Sparks romance fan, this one is for you! 🥹

Very enjoyable! This book is a page-turner with lots of surprising twists and high-stakes situations. The conflicts lie within family, which really helps the reader connect with the characters. Can't wait to see the next one from this author!
