ROT & RUIN as well as DUST & DECAY are both exquisitely developed zombie novels.
These stories are written by one of the best horror writers alive ... Jonathan Maberry.
If you enjoy zombie fiction, you HAVE TO read Jonathan Maberry's books. If you don't, you are seriously missing out.

Great read!

I love this. It’s one of the first series I’ve read from Jonathan Mayberry. The characters are intricate and well developed. I know some of them will turn up in later books.

okay, let me get this off my chest...

THIS SERIES IS F@#!$ AMAZING (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻
I'm currently starting Bits and Pieces the 5th book in the
series and I'm in deep love with the series and I'm scared to finish it
I love the entire book and have done some research on the reality of it
and I love how got dam realistic it is, even the death cult introduced in Flesh & Bone
is a real cult (but id rather call it a religion _(:3」∠)_ ) which is very interesting because it
has to deal with the Greek god Thanatos and how he is the one who "carries" people into the "darkness" AKA death because he is the god of peaceful death ( (≪●≫) )Д( (≪●≫) )but I love the work of Maberry he is the besttttt {0.0} I love his wordplay too
Especially on bits and pieces on how the book is bits and pieces of the story
But this series knows how to play with your emotions AND I HATE AND LOVE IT
Especially how it seems that tom dies but he really doesn't but later he does
LIKE WHATTTT /ಠ0ಠ/ but anyway[=-p; I would recommend this series to anyone I know and I love it <3 :3

I've read the 1st three books. This series is really good. We see Benny grow up from a whinny little kid to the man he suppose to be. Nix has always been firece fight no none sense. lilla (the lost girl) gets to finally connect to people and actually care for them, but don't be fooled she'll quiet you in a heart beat if your bitten. Tommy Benny's brother was always looking out from he's kid brother and sees him finally become his own person.
I gave it a 4 out of 5 because of the last book i read dead & gone.. The preaching gets alittle annoying at times thru that book "praise to the darknest". That phrase got stuck in my head for the next couple of days LOL..
The series is pretty good but the Ash and Fire ending could've have been more dramatic.. Over all good series thou kept me wanting to finish the book..

I absolutely love this series. I found the first book, "Rot and Ruin" in my middle schools' book fair. That was three years ago. During those three years, I've collected the rest of the series and have reread all of the books atleast twenty times since. Once I pick up the book, I can't place it back down until I'm finished (Yes, it's that good.) Rot and Ruin is a very eye-opening book and it has honestly changed the way I look at things, it had made me a more open minded person. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone. Jonathan Maberry is such a creative writer and I look forward to seeing what he has in store.

Benny lives in the village with his brother Tom an his friends Chong,Nix,and Morgie.
Benny discover that everything is not as they seem in this world after "First Night".

I am a librarian who was looking for a good zombie series for young adults. Just finished the first book in this series and have started the second. This is a great series for YA, with good writing, strong characterization and, of course, lots of zombie action. I'm enjoying it so much, I'm buying the rest of the books in this series for my library.

I love the Rot and Ruin series. A coming of age story in a post apocalyptic world that is character based and delves into the main characters emotions and realization of how to survive in the world they live in. Outstanding story that continues in Dust and Decay and Flesh and Bone
