Such a cute story. I love the development of the characters as the book went along. I live in the metropolitan city this book is set near. Fun to read about places and things I new so much about.
Keely Jones is an up and coming advertising agent. She has worked so hard her whole life she basically has no social life. Until she begins to take care of her brothers dog.
Darren Wright is a well established advertising agent who has just recently moved to town to help his sister in her struggling advertising firm. Darren too doesn't date much and his friend Clint likes to tease him about it. Until one day at the park her literally runs into a girl and her dog.
Mix a little cajun voodoo love potion and see what happens next.
Sometimes love needs a little push A handsome man, a skeptical woman, and a dog named Duke. Keely’s focus is on her career, and she’s only willing to lend a tiny piece of her heart to Darren, no matter how great he seems. With events conspiring against their chance at happiness, the guidance of Lucinda and her gris-gris have their work cut out for them. In this romantic comedy, Ms. Tyler reminds us that, to find love, we must open our hearts. Keely is a strong heroine who doesn’t trust easily and refuses to make all the sacrifices. A fun, entertaining read with lovable characters who will remind you of yourself and your friends.
In The Good Luck Charm two advertising executives meet in the park, develop a mutual attraction and then find out they work in competition with each other.
Bring in a Godmother that believes in Voodoo and gives Keely a gris-gris charm to wear to help her find her true love. Darren made the mistake of not telling Keely where he worked and when she found out from her boss, she was very upset. With a little help from her Voodoo practicing Godmother, his family they find their way back together and the gris-gris works it magic. The Good Luck Charm offers a problem to be solved, a lot of romance and a little bit of magic for a fun and happy reading experience.
A sweet romance that involves, in addition to an appealing hero and heroine, a Cajun Jazz singer and a lazy bloodhound named Duke. If you're looking for a fun read, I recommend this one. It's the first in a series of three, and I'm already looking forward to the next two.
Great story... I love a little magic mixed in with a story and this book delivered. Keely and Darren's story was a good love interrupted story with the ending I hoped for. Can't wait to read the next book. I know we are going to hear more of Jama, Darren's sister. And I loved the Lucinda character.
I usually read romance books with more sexy spice, but this book had such great content, that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Loved the hint of VooDoo. I have to get Jama's story and find out what happens next... Pam James.

My review of "The Good Luck Charm":
Keely Jones and Darren Wright are on a collision course figuratively and literally. Their chances are slim, but Leanne Tyler has other ideas. She takes these two unlikely characters adds a little voodoo magic and finds a way to draw them together. Secrets endanger the power of the magic. their wild ride to their HEA will have you in stitches. All the characters are well developed and soon close to your heart, Especially Duke, who is instrumental in bringing our two lovebirds together. The story line reads clearly with no hick-ups or slow spots. My Tyler's descriptive style of writing makes you feel the sun on your face and envision the trees of the park and hear the sound of laughter on the wind.
This is a delightful read that anyone looking for a light, humorous romance. My rating for "The Good Luck Charm" is 4.25 out of 5 stars.
Well, this was a sweet, gentle, very enjoyable romance. I commend Ms. Tyler for her use of a fantasy element that was actually believable, she made it make sense. What else made sense were her extremely engaging characters, both primary and secondary - she created a wonderful world and populated it with people I would like to know. The pacing was even, the dialogue appropriate to the characters, settings and situations, the setting rich in detail, and the romance/happily ever after factor was great. Curl up by the fire with this cozy read. *I received my copy from NetGalley.com in exchange for an honest review.
All in all, I found this book a quite enjoyable read. It was easy and quick - entertaining, and incredibly sweet. I enjoyed the small fantasy element in it, and all the characters were really quite lovable.
While the book wasn't phenomenal, it was a truly engaging read for the genre which it is in. The plot was engaging, and made me smile. I'd recommend this as a nice summer read, preferably with a glass of cold lemonade. :)
Starting off, this was a free read on Amazon, and it was absolutely adorable. It was an easy read- easy to understand, easy to fall into, and easy to like the characters. I also liked how believable this story was- though I did feel like characters fell in love pretty quickly- some people in life do.
It was super cute, and worth taking a break to read.
The story was predictable and I found no reason to have the "charm" in the storyline. The book would have been the same without the voodoo. Either way, the story had no depth and was extremely superficial.
Well that was a super fast read. Less than 24 hours to finish the book. It was cute and sweet. Not really something to shout about. Nice and Sweet is all I can say about it.
