I am going to make the most adorable holiday cards with the help of this book! I love that it emphasizes that things don't have to be perfect... in fact, things are much cuter if imperfect! Great for any age of readers and/or artists!

„Bobbie art.

This is cute! This step-by-step guide features characters and scenes from the sweet, fuzzy-filled world of Bobbie Goods. Essentially there are seven sections that each begin with a full-color scene full of Bobbie's signature characters getting up to all kinds of business (baking, picnicking, gardening, etc.), and what follows are line-by-line instructions on how to draw the items shown in those scenes—plus a coloring sheet of the scene at the end. See below for an example of a coffee shop scene, the instructions for drawing the plant from the scene (one of ten items with how-to instructions from this scene), and the corresponding coloring sheet.

The instructions are very approachable and easy to follow, and the characters are truly adorable. My favorite thing is that the author/artist encourages the reader/artist not to be afraid of imperfect lines, as her style is characterized by wobbly lines. My only complaint is that the instructions are how to draw very specific cute items, rather than how to make the things you draw cute, which I realize is often the drawback to most "how to draw" books. Still, mastering the adorableness within these pages could definitely help build confidence to explore drawing *other* cute things!

Thanks to Walter Foster Publishing and NetGalley for this ARC! How to Draw Super Cute Things with Bobbie Goods comes out on November 21, 2023.

This book is very adorable, I love the art style. I also appreciate the way it breaks down a section from each scene it presents. I will agree with what someone said below me, this would be great for a hand drawn card. I might need to try that myself.

I received a copy from Quarto Publishing Group – Walter Foster through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

If you’re looking for a simple drawing book with a hint of a coloring book, this is the book for you! Inside you will find an absolutely adorable drawing tips, instructions, and some pages that work as a coloring book. The drawings are simple and Bobbie encourages readers to embrace imperfections. I like that there are examples of perfectly straight lines compared to shaky lines to show readers that if you have a shaky hand, it just adds extra character to your work. That’s perfect for kids or anyone who wants to reach an idea of perfection. Work with what you’ve got and it can become your style as well as bringing some character to your work and I really liked that they made sure to include that. All in all, it’s fun and cute and I can see this being perfect for kids, families, and anyone who wants a cute drawing book.

Coming across this book on NetGalley was such a wonderful surprise! I’ve been a fan of Bobbie Goods since she started and her art is just so incredibly cute! I’m not an artist but I love trying new hobbies, so I jumped into this instructional book as soon as I got it!

I’m taking my time working through it, but I’m enamored enough with the book and the process that I feel comfortable giving a review. The step by step instructions are easy to follow and I’m enjoying learning new skills. I highly recommend this book for anyone who admires Bobbie’s art style and wants to learn how to draw super cute things!

This is such a cute drawing guide! I’ve been a fan of Bobbie Goods since 2021, so I knew I had to pick this up when I saw it on NetGalley. I loved the different characters, how easy the instructions were, and the cute/quirky writing. I thought it was also cool that in the physical book, there’s a coloring page after each section of instructions. I think this will be great for people of all ages and skill levels!

This book reminded me of colouring books I had as a child and Leegongs art (she is a Korean artist who has a very similar style, which I like a lot). The art style is simple, cute and easy to follow due to just having to deal with one line thickness. The author shows lots of examples for objects, furniture, characters and how they can be combined in coloured and black and white scenes for a colouring book for example.

I can highly recommend this if you love this art style and want to try out making your own colouring book. The material list, drawing techniques and explanations are extremely short and it's more a reference book.

Thank you Netgalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I see Bobbie Goods all over the place so when NetGalley gave me a chance to read her book I jumped at the chance.

The book is so colourful and the step-by-step instructions are easy to follow. I’m always looking for cute drawings to put in my journal. And my favourite part is that they include colouring pages too. This book would be perfect for aspiring artists. I can’t wait to use these in my journal.

Thank you, NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC. .

𝐌𝗼́𝐣 𝗼𝐩𝐢𝐬:

Wchodzisz w to?

𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐳𝐣𝐚:

Hej! Poradnik autorstwa Bobbie Goods, nauczy Cię jak tworzyć z pozoru proste, lecz słodkie ilustracje, a pomiędzy rysowaniem możesz też pokolorować gotowe kolorowanki.

I read a lot of this sort of book, both for myself and for projects to do with my youngest daughter. This is a good addition to the books already out there but it didn’t particularly appeal to me more than others. Each section starts with a picture of a very busy area in a theme like in the kitchen or art studio, and then each page shows you step by step how to draw items in it like an easel and a chair.

I like that it shows you how to do the actual lines and tells you to use a black pen instead of doing that silly process of draw a circle and then a square and then erase this bit and that bit and change this and erase all that. It will give you a good idea of how to draw basic items, though you can also just look at drawings like these and easily copy them without a how to book.

If you have read other how to draw cute things books, this won’t really offer anything new and I honestly find a lot of them cuter. That said, it’s a good book and will be especially popular with folks who are fans of the artist.

I read a temporary digital copy of this book for review.

If you thought the cover was cute, just wait until you start reading this! It's set up in such a cute way, and easy to understand for the younger audience. I also love that they say that you don't have to draw perfectly, and that all drawings looks amazing!
I also love how the rest of the book is set up, you first get a scene, and then you get instructions on how to draw parts of that scene.

I did a few drawings with my nephew, who is four, but really loves to draw. It definitely wasn't perfect, but my drawings weren't either. I think the most important part was that we both had fun, and that the directions were easy for him to follow aswell! i only had to explain a little bit about it.

This is a super cute interactive book perfect for budding artists.
The art style is cute and has pages to colour alongside step by step instructions for tons of items and characters. There is more step by step projects in this book than I had expected and each are easy to follow with some great tips on colouring and ways of combining previously learnt drawings to add to each project. Each section helps you to achieve a full scene which leads to a really fulfilling learning experience.
A great gift for artists young and old. To expand further I would love to have seen recommended brands of paper or pens and perhaps some guidance for iPad or digital drawing.
Thanks you for allowing me to review

Book 192 of 200 ~ 2023

🌟🌟🌟

Adorable illustrations. But for a person like me who isn't confident in drawing, though it is broken down into segments, I still felt a tad overwhelmed..

Will give it a go as part of my explore my hobbies 2024 to do list :)

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

What a cute book! I'm not much of a drawer, so this was a really good way to ease into it. And how can I resist when I get to learn how to draw super cute things? The step-by-step guide is amazing (yay, I can finally learn how to draw a teapot!!), I really like how this book explains the process very meticolously, especially because it shows you a particular scene, and it teaches you how to draw both objects and characters. One thing that I found very useful, is that, at the end of the process, you can colour the very same scene you've just learnt to draw.

Definitely recommend, "How to Draw Super Cute Things with Bobbie Goods" is perfect for beginners.

The title of this book really says it all! The content of the drawings are super cute, as is the style, (modern, contemporary and lighthearted. I love how each stunning image is broken down into step by step illustrations that make achieving art accessible to both adults and kids!

I also love how composite pictures are broken down so we can do as much, or as little as we want - this definitely widens the appeal.

Personally I am absolutely looking forward to elevating my drawing of teddy-bears (amongst other super cute content), to the next level!

My thanks to NetGaslley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an advance copy.

Would you enjoy doing some drawing or know someone who would? If so, this super cute book is definitely worth a look!

The author starts with an introduction followed by information on tools, materials, drawing techniques, characters and adding color. Next come the directions for how to draw everything from a baker bunny to a picnic basket, to a barista bear, a laundry hamper, a beach char, a garden puppy and many more things to create. All are adorable.

This book and a set of colored pencils could make a good holiday gift.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for this title. All opinions are my own.

I don't know what is - or who is - Boobie Goods and I don't need to know because their drawing style is absolutely cute (as the title says).

This is the first time that I see a how-to simple drawing book that it has ACTUALLY simple and easy tips. Mostly of the nonfiction that claims something on this same line are complete rubbish but this one here is the true scheme.

And the bestest of all?..... This book leaves room to your style and your improvement of the basic drawings. Which means, when you learn how to draw and are confident with what you did, you can make some complex art with a basic concept.

I have never picked up a drawling book a day in my life. That being said, I love doodling. So when I saw this arc on netgalley, I knew I needed to read it. From the perspective of someone who has zero background in drawling and really no skill,, this is lovely. The step by step, and how each step is highlighter a different color, made it easy to follow along. The drawling themselves are very cute and spot on with the aesthetic of the cover. If you’re someone who loves doodling, and tired of drawling the same things, this will give you some great ideas you have never thought of.

My 11 yo granddaughter happened to be home sick today. I decided this would be a good time to get her opinion on this little book. She loved it. I also have to say that she normally doesn't like to be "taught," but she loved the manner this was presented. I highly recommend this book.

Definitely will be purchasing a hard copy for my nieces.

This was such a cute book teaching you how to draw even cuter things. Bobbie Goods makes a scene - such as a dog baking - and then shows you how to make individual components such as chairs and other items. It's such an easy to follow guide and I absolutely loved it. I highly recommend this to anyone who - like me - can't draw and wants to learn.

as always thank you net galley fans publisher for the arc :] <3

The style is super cute ! And instructions are extremely easy to follow. The added bonus of a coloring page for each scene was also nice. Each section came with so many different items to draw (i believe at the end of all the tutorials you would have drawn most of the phot) very cute i really enjoyed it :]]

Loved this book! It was super helpful in teaching me how to draw simple characters and backgrounds. The step-by-step method really helped me improve my drawing. And I was pleasantly surprised to see the author included a finished page, so I could compare my drawing to it and make any tweaks necessary. Hidden gem!
