It was a okay read but left disappointed, there were no issues at all,Blake n Serena were friends went to same medical college,Serena was a Cheyenne and after he parents died she n her brothers were taken in and raised by a white family,Serena loves Blake but Blake only sees her as a friend and also Serena has this huge insecurity that she is a native American she always thinks she is not proper for Blake cause if this but the fact Blake never ever thought about it or showed or acted differently with Serena only saw her as a good friend, then Blake's mother dies n Blake is kind off shattered to share his loneliness and share his pain they end up sleeping together, after which again they are back to being friends,Serena went to tell Blake of pregnancy but then he was engaged to other woman called Elaine so Serena hid her pregnancy never told him about it
After 7 years Blake is divorced and has come know he is a illegitimate son of Larry Kincad and he is trying to get in terms with it,he has this huge fear that people might not accept him cause everyone in town knows what a lousy characterless cheater philanderer womanizer his father was,but still he comes he is pediatrician and he meets Serena again when she brings in their son Nate cause he was stung by a bee from there the story starts
it was so so read,no issues many things were left unfinished like Blake's marriage author never goes into it,was mentioned only twice that now he is divorced,i felt Serena's reason to hide her pregnancy not strong enough, she only thoght of her fears, insecurities and thought Blake was engaged just decided alone she will never tell him about it,
the other issue of Mayor's daughter Christina's pregnancy only who is the father that was revealed and Christina is missing and the baby's father asks Blake to keep quiet not to report anything for some time now, since this a series which has 6 books so i guess in next book it will be revealed what happened to Christina n mystery will be solved
the child Nate himself figures it out that Blake is his father,Blake is one hero who has such less confidence,he keeps thinking negative and keeps whinning how i did this wrong, never was there for Serena n Nate the fact that so many times Serena herself says it is her fault not his cause she took the decision to hiding the pregnancy still he continues his whinning god....... was so frustrated with him
i really cannot believe this is written by same Jennifer Greene who wrote such a wonderful book The Honor Bound Groom,i know sometimes authors write great mindblowing stories and sometimes okay story but i really hope the next one i pick up will be better then this
it was a so so read, Once readable if you patience
The kid despite being barely 6 years old is smarter than both his parents. The writing is good but a lot of questions go unanswered. The h was in love with H back when they were med students and when H loses his mom, she consoles him and sleeps with him. The H meets his future wife and doesn't take up the relationship with h anywhere. He comes back divorced and realizes h had his child. His entire previous relationship is never discussed at all by h. She accepts her love for him and he suddenly remembers how amazing and special the h was and their night was and is in love. Seriously the book glosses over the fact that he never pursued a relationship with h until he realizes she had his kid.
This is a nice little romance story. Blake Remmington and Serena Dovesong had a one-night affair over 7 years ago. Six-year-old Nate was the result of their night of lovemaking. Now, Doctor Blake, while treating the boy for an allergic reaction, realizes that this boy is his son. The story takes its time wading through all the ramifications of this realization to come to the right conclusion. A good read!

A secret baby story! Pediatrician is shocked to notice that a patient is indeed the right age and with the right mother to be his son. Having father issues of his own, he sets out to woo both son and mother. Set in Montana, and the heroine is Native American--cross-racial/cross-cultural issues are not ignored but neither do they play too much of a role. There's an interesting subplot that's pretty much dropped having to do with another interracial couple, and I have to say that the "secret baby" is old enough to be a character in his own right, and is a right cute little plot moppet.
