I love these sets of sexy novellas. They are short and sweet, with one or two very hot scenes to make your heart beat faster in your chest, and I am sad every time I hit the end. I love this world and the camaraderie of this group of shifters that care for one another. I certainly hope this series continues. I would miss it if it was over. Goderick is surprisingly sweet with Keela's little girl, and it's so swoon-worthy, and Keela, who is very reluctant to take on another mate after the loss of her little girl's father, thinks so too!

A very cute and short read. Godrick is a twin who left his pack due to an archaic rule that said twin sons of the alpha must fight to the death for the position to take over the pack. Rather than kill his brother, he left. When he runs into Katu pack, he meets Keela, his mate.
Only Keela doesn’t want to be his mate. She was previously mated and has a daughter but her mate died. She struggles a lot with the fact that she has a second fated mate in the world and is really resistant to that.
I loved the relationship between Godrick and Joy, it was adorable and I did enjoy this book!

Keely has lost her mate and her feeling of being mated. She is feeling out of sorts and the alpha tells her to shift to her wolf and run it off. As she is running she finds an intoxicating scent that she must find, when she gets back to the compound she tells herself that she doesn’t, need or want a fated mate.
Good Rick has been running ever since he refused to kill his brother to become the new alpha of his pack. He is taken in by the Katy Pack and he sees the difference between the two packs and wants to be there. He also wants Keely, but knows she needs time.
When the pack is attacked by the Hunters, Godrick takes care of Keely and as he does they become closer and start to feel like a family unit.
Godrick is taken by his brother to go back to his old pack to face the consecensdes of him leaving.
Together with the pack they get him back and take out two outdated groups with one strike, his old pack and the elite hunters of the shifter world.

Part of the Katu Wolves series each with a sexy shifter and the one who captures is his undivided attention. Two twins born of the same pack but in order to be the alpha of the pack they must fight to the death and sexy as all get out Godrick decides not to fight his brother let alone kill him becoming a lone wolf. Never thinking he would be a part of another pack but when he runs into the Katu pack he meets his mate another thing he thought wouldn’t happen. Keela has been through a lot she met her mate had a baby girl with him, but he died taking a part of her with him however, fate decided to give her a second fated mate and she is afraid to trust, to love again still reeling from the death of her first mate. There is such a difference between the two packs, and he is welcomed on the Katu pack and willing to be patient with Keela but will she come around, will she realize the second chance she has been given, can they actually stay away from each other being fated and is there a chance for happiness?.

At the end of book 4, Keela is told her mate is dead. This story picks up on her story as she deals with his death, while trying to raise their daughter. Great characters, wonderful story.

Let me just preface this review I always enjoy Jade Marshall's writings. I have been reading her from the first day I found her. Her talent in telling a story always amazes me and sucks you into the story.
The New Mate is no different. You feel every emotion that these two characters have throughout the story. Jade knows how to keep the story moving along to give you a feel like you are there. Keele has lost her mate and is heartbroken caring for a child. For a wolf that could be deadly. Then Godrick a rogue wolf being tracked by an ancient group of shikari for leaving his pack because he did not wish to kill his brother does not think he will ever find a safe haven. Enter in the Payton and Cain the pack's Luna and Alpha. These two like to make all wolfs feel welcome as long as the wolf is not a threat.
Keele and Godrick have many feelings and find their way to each other. They thought either would find their fated mate no less a second one. Godrick is not sure if he should claim his mate because of the threat and Keele does not know if she wants another mate.
Jade Marshal is a wonderful writer and you will not go wrong reading this book and the series.

Godrick and Keely story is a fight to see their packs through the unit that their are to over come. Godrick has been on the run from his pack and Keely has lost her mate. I loved this read.

At the end of the last book Keela learns her mate has been killed. We start this book a few months later. Keela is in mourning and she exists for her daughter. She has no plans to find a new mate.
Godrick is running from his home pack because he chooses not to kill his twin brother for the Alpha position. His running finds him at the Katu pack and finding his mate. Keela and Godrick are mates. We will see both their struggles with starting new.

Keela is still trying to overcome the loss f her mate when a second chance turns up in Godrick.
This is a second chance fated romance with two sweet main characters that want to be happy but are afraid for various reasons.
I wish it were a bit longer but even so it is still a good read with a nice happily ever after.

A New Mate offers an ingratiating story of two souls who truly don’t anticipate finding love. Keela, you see, is widowed with an infant child, and she’s sure she’ll never find anyone else. Godrick, meanwhile, has gone rogue after refusing to fight his twin to the death to claim the alpha leadership of his birth pack. But the call of fated mates is something impossible to resist….
Godrick and Keela were both genuinely likable characters, and what I really enjoyed about A New Mate is that they never ventured into TSTL territory. Yes, Keela doesn’t want another mate and harbors an illusion that she can remove the fated-mate bond, but once corrected on that she doesn’t pout and protest. Godrick doesn’t understand how the Katu Pack can be the way it is and survive, but once he realizes the possibility of a new life, he’s all in to defend it.
And he needs that because there’s a danger to Godrick’s life from his past, as well as an ongoing threat to the Katu Pack and the choices it’s made. I liked how the action of A New Mate didn’t overwhelm the need to build logical ties between this couple, and Marshall found some clever ways to build their connection.
A New Mate isn’t a long or complex book, but not every romance needs to be. It’s a satisfying shifter romance with just enough twists on the subgenre to be an interesting, engaging read.

My heart broke for Keela at the end of Unwanted Mate when we learned that her mate, Brian did not survive a fight. We start A New Mate with her Keela raising her daughter, Joy alone and battling depression.
Godrick is now considered a rogue on the run from his pack, the Nacht Pack on the East Coast. Due to archaic laws that his pack still followed, Godrick decided to leave instead of fighting his twin for the position of Alpha.
Little did Keela and Godrick know that as soon as they caught each other's scent they were each other's mates. To say Keela was shocked to learn that she was given a second chance mate is an understatement. You can feel her turmoil and heartbreak - she doesn't want to just abandon the gift from the Goddess but how does she open her heart to a mate again?

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!
I really loved this book. My emotions were all over the place and I loved every minute of it. Lol! Keela's character is strong yet vulnerable, she is dealing with a horrible loss and doesn't know how to move on or if she wants too but she knows she has to for her baby girl Joy. All the pack comes together to help her through it. Then one day Caine the Alpha of the pack sits down with her and tells her how it's gonna go and of course she has to listen to him. Then one day out on a run she gets a wiff of a mate and it scares and confuses her. This book is chalked full of suspense, action packed, heartache and excitement. It's sexy and heartwarming too. I can't say enough about the book, it has everything I love in a good book. I highly recommend this series to everyone.

This was another gripping wolf shifter romance and I love that both of these wounded souls find love together. Keela is a single mom because her mate was killed. Godrick has been on the run for a long time because he didn't want to fight his brother for alpha...and a goon squad was hunting him down to kill him for not following their archaic ways. I fretted that these two wouldn't escape the relentless pursuit, but the coming together of Keela's pack made all the difference. I love how well Godrick took care of her daughter, showing he really was her fated mate and loved EVERYTHING about her. Made my heart melt ;P

This was, again, a cute and quick read. Keela’s mate passed in the previous book so this has a second chance mate show up. He’s been on the run from his pack, which has terrible antiquated ideas, and he’s basically running for his life.
A concept I’ve not heard before, the shikari, appear as sort of trackers and assassins. Apparently they are a legend like a boogeyman but this pack doesn’t think they are real. That was kind of fun when they actually show up in the flesh.
The new mate is a twin, and the shikari are twins too. Lots of twins in this one…
I liked this one a lot. It was much better than average and I enjoyed it.

I wasn't sure at first if I would like this or not but I like the idea of second chances, whether it is a second chance at life or at love. I'm glad that Godrick and Keela had a chance at both.
I was surprised, though, that I went through this book quickly. That just proves to me that the story was so well-written that I did not even notice the chapters progressing.
I'm certainly revisiting the other books in the series now. Great work, author!.

A second chance for love.
Keela goes through a loss that could destroy her life. Godrick is in the run because his sense of family is stronger than traditions.
A very good story, with amazing characters. Keela is not a weak woman, despite her pain. And Godrick... I love that all the time he's in control of his wolf, the man dominates his instincts. And ultimately he is so good in every way. I loved this story!.

A New Mate is book five of the Katu Wolves Series.
This was heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time. Keela is dealing with the emotional upheaval of losing her mate. Godrick joins the pack and is her second chance mate. But because of how deep her feelings were for her first mate, she does fight this one.
I loved Godrick's character. He was respectful and caring. He begins to think of Keela's daughter like his own. He really wants to make her happy and be a true family. He was a great character.

Running from his pack he finds a new place to call home in the Katu pack, and with Keela butbshe needs time to heal from her loss could she ever open up to another? June 27, 2023I've read a couple of the stories in this series and I was excited to read Keela's book after what happened to her in 'Unwanted Mate'. I love how God Rick easily took to Keela's daughter, Joy, and he held off on claiming her when he found out what had previously happened to her. Can't wait to read more in this series.

Wow wicked, sweet, heartbreaking.
Godrick has left his pack due to family issues.
Keela has lost her partner has her little girl.
What happens when he shows up at the Katu pack and he feels it.
There's chemistry between them but will they act on it gorgeous read loved it can't wait to read more.

Keela’s mate as killed in the previous book. While grieving for him, in walks her fated mate on the run from his pack. It is bittersweet for Keela as she has to decide if she can let go of her grief and accept a new mate. Godrick is a good man who is understanding of the fact that his new mate might not accepting him due to her loss.

This book was so good. Right from the beginning there were ups and downs, and then came several twists and turns. The emotions in this book went from cold to hot several times. The last 3 chapters were my favorite as the couple achieved their HEA that was much deserved!!!.

A good quick (in my opinion) book... I love this series of books... I have loved every jade Marshall book I've read so far.... I typically don't read paranormal books but her books are more than that.... Cant wait to read more...

When Keela loses her mate she is obviously devastated and locks everyone out, wandering aimlessly until Godrick who has been on the run and now found a home with the Katsu Wolves and he is hoping Keela.

I have not read any other book in this series but enjoyed this one. Godrick and Keela were great. The heartbreak Keela showed was felt. As the story unfolded I was rooting for these two. I wanted to see them both get their happy ending. Loved the story and would recommend it to others.
