After watching the popular BBC Sherlock my daughter has officially dubbed herself a “Sherlockian” and wants to learn more about the premise of her favorite show. I saw The Graphic Novel Adventures of Sherlock Holmes at the public library and thought this was a great introduction before attempting the more challenging short story collection. They are a fun quick read and even reluctant readers will enjoy looking for clues with Mr. Holmes.

This graphic novel re-tells Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic tale of a young lady who is being followed by a mysterious man on a bike. The short length and format do not do justice to the complexity of Doyle's original work, nor do they allow the reader to develop their own hypotheses for the story. May appeal to graphic novel/mystery fans, regardless.
