When blue boxes start popping up in front of Hugh's eyes, he thinks he's crazy, but he also fears what it means if the boxes are real. In novels, blue screens tend to lead to an apocalypse. If he does nothing, the world might be destroyed.
Leveling is not so simple, though. There are no convenient goblins or bunnies or other starter level mobs appearing for him to fight. All he has is a single system quest, to recruit a girl to be a system user.
Easy, right? Not so much for an eighteen year old virgin. He barely even knows any girls. Even worse, from the title of the system, he worries that things are about to get sexual really quick.
I loved the way the story began to the point where I thought it'd end up being my favorite harem novel, but I enjoyed it less when the second harem member was introduced. The first woman was the one pushing the mc to invite another woman to the harem and she's the one who had sex with the woman. The mc didn't feel like it was cheating, but I did. Also, because the two women were old friends it made it feel less like the man's harem and more like hers at the time it happened since they were already close emotionally. Then there's the fact that the mc has little interest in the second woman, so she's not really a part of the harem. In fact, it feels like it's not really a harem at all with the amount of focus that's put on the MC not having sex with other women since he views that as cheating on her.
I personally found the mc weirdly certain about a future apocalypse with basically nothing to lead him to that conclusion. To me it felt like the author knew where she wanted to take the story and just let the MC reach that conclusion in order to speed things along. That's another thing, this novel felt like it was written by a woman, especially considering the fact that there may have been more chapters from the woman's pov than the man's. That makes it strange to read, especially since I tend to think of the man as the mc and it doesn't really feel like it in this one.
Has a lot of flaws, and I skipped a lot of the dull parts without missing anything, but overall this is a unique take with this genre mashup and I appreciate that. Too much hand wringing about consent and omg are you ok? going on. It dragged the story down. Plus split personalities are a congruency problem that feels forced to make a character do something for the sake of the story. If the author steps up their game this could be great.
This one started out pretty good but I am not sure about the direction the story was going toward the end. Guy wakes up and has a system screen. He is a system administrator. He thinks he is going crazy. The system is for ENF and he is supposed to get a woman to join him. He thinks ENF stands for embarrassed nude female. He isn't very popular. How is he going to get someone to join him. He called up a girl that he helped with her SATs. He is pretty much the reason that she got into school. He hadn't talked to her much but they were friends(ish). He sends her an invite and finds out that he isn't crazy. He isn't sure about her joining the system though. She is an introvert and doesn't have many friends and never had a boyfriend. She is down on herself and her looks. When he tells her he doesn't want her to join, she takes it as him rejecting her. He just doesn't want her to do things she doesn't want to do. She joins and he sends her quests. Show your bras, show your panties, etc. She is extremely embarrassed but also turned on the more he makes her do.
In my opinion this was one of the better books that I have read in a long time. The plot was so different than what I normally see in the genres that I am used to reading. This is the first book that I have read by this author and will definitely check out some of the others. Hope that there is a sequel as I can’t wait to see what happens next.
I was not aware this was a genre until today, when I found it via litRPG. It turns out ENF fic really expresses one of my bigger kinks that I haven't had opportunity to indulge in several years 😅
I desperately hope the author writes more in this series! This genre, at least the way they write it, mixes amazingly well with litRPG (the main genre I've been reading for a coupl'a years) and anything in this series (and on KU, unfortunately- money sucks) will be a priority for my reading list as it comes out.
This is a very erotic ENF NIP OON CMNF story. The eroticism comes from the first-person feelings and reactions of Hugh, a shy, unassuming, still-virgin, nerdy guy who is somehow chosen to become System Admin by The ENF System, and Natalie, a very shy, modest, unfashionable, still-virgin college student who becomes a System User ‘Reluctant Exhibitionist’. Natalie gets increasingly erotic, risky, ENF dares: going commando and flashing, naked at home, naked in the car, naked in the library, naked hikes, and more. As they progress, they radically change their attitudes, outlook, and feelings about the opposite sex. The System pushes their attitudes toward nudity, exhibitionism, sex, and life to new levels of acceptance and enjoyment. Despite Nat’s intense humiliation and embarrassment, they are both enjoying the experiences but begin to worry if they are somehow being morally corrupted. The system pushes for more users, putting pressure on Hugh. They find out that Nat’s best friend, Julia, has fatal cancer, and they convince her that the only hope is to use some of the ENF System’s features to cure herself. This requires even more naked adventures and sexual encounters, which everyone enjoys. Finally, they must find a third System User to complete the Party. They succeed and now the Quest changes to Subjugation and Combat. That's where the story ends, with a lead-in to Book 2, hopefully coming soon! Aside to RS W - I’d like to share my suggestions on grammar and other errors I found in the book, and proofread Book 2 (Free) if you’d like.
I'm struggling to give this a rating tbh. In terms of erotica, the creativity in inserting smut into a litrpg system was top-notch and fantastic, especially if exhibitionism is your kink. There's a ton of great ideas in how the author puts a twist on the usual exhibitionist bit and it's clear that this was written with great passion for the entire concept, kink and all.
But the characters. The characters are honestly so difficult to read. I didn't notice it the first time I read the book but I couldn't make it through a second read at all. The way the characters danced and stuttered around each other was extremely annoying, extremely contrived, and just completely unnatural.
Despite it, I think the imaginative-ness of the eroticism here still carries the book to a high point and I haven't found any other story that comes close. For the uniqueness alone I'll give it full marks and dock a point for the annoying characters. Hopefully the author will return with a continuation of the story.
So, the premise was beyond ridiculous. The characters even think so. It's that whole, let's just give it a try" that gets it all going.
And boy does it get going. I appreciate the use of safe words, of sticking to the kinks involved and keeping the other smut secondary. What could have devolved quickly instead maintained as a crazy tale.
My only kind of complaint is the MC is a little too perfect in his knowledge of the lifestyle for someone who was supposed to be so inexperienced with women. Not much one can do it was obviously needed to let everything else flow well but... ah well.
A bit of a cliffhanger at the end for people who don't like that. Definitely has me invested for the next book now.
I'll rate this for what it is, as it's not the sort of thing I'll usually read. The system idea is good, but the means of progressing in the pre-apoc phase is more 50 Shades than I'm into. Interesting psychological looks into f'd-up relationship dynamics, for what that's worth.
That said, I'm interested to see what the "operational" version of the system is, so I'll give book 2 a go should it arrive. I'd likely not read another of these if it was simply more of what happened here. Also to see if Hugh cracks with the other "system users"; from a practical standpoint, the relationship dynamics simply won't work otherwise.
Hugh Miller awakes one day as a system administrator on blue screen showing class .
Hugh Miller always wanted to learn about a LitRPG system play a character in a system . After a night of partying an drinking he wakes up with a blue screen showing across in front of his face . He doesn't understand what's happening . Undoubtedly he's been picked to administrate a system an pick female players to assist him running the system . Doesn't work with male players as he found out .He must secretly pick 5 qualifing candidates . recommend reading excellent book .
The slow descriptions of ENF are hot, the actual sex is over too quickly in comparison.
The system is used to great effect for the relationships and sense of reward, but near the end of the book, the subtle hinting of a possible apocalypse turns sexy time into combat preparedness. It is handled fairly well, but I am more accustomed to the sexy times either being the downtime in litrpg or the reward for the action segments. I look forward to the next installment
This LitRPG takes place in what would be "real life". Interesting take.
The drags a bit by attempting to be poltically correct with increased exposition about why the characters make the choices they do. The story is explaining the origins of the characters.
Although I'm glad to have read this book, I'm annoyed there is no second book yet.
I liked this even when ENF (embarrassed nude females) is not my kink but the interactions between the MC and his first girl are nicely written and weirdly made sense. I have read that the author abandoned the series due to bad critiques and I think it is sad that people try to force their way on an author instead of just reading something else. Would have loved reading the next - now that it finally goes into dungeon diving and more main litrpg.
LitRPG without a mouse/keyboard/monitor/internet. Huh? How? Well that is not really explained sufficiently, but suffice to say mental screens can be viewed. The system is run by a man and the players are females. It involves sex, embarrassing decisions, mental stress and courage. Recommended.
I got this book thinking it would be a fun silly romp but it was far more than that. I was delighted with the characters depth and I liked them as they were engrossing. The story is definitely erotic and yet the plot line pulls you along
Well written and edited - even some emotional scenes
Slow buildup - slow burn? Mostly realistic reactions by the characters. Is there a possible sequel or two coming? Hmmm? Really enjoyed this book - Want a sequel! 😉
This book was very well written, capturing my interest from the very start.
The step by step progression was well thought out and fun to anticipate what I would have thought of next. Needless to say it was much better than I anticipated. Thank you such a good read.
Different from typical harems (sort of). Very good character development. No one is drooling over the MC and the girls so far seem like they could be real people instead of archetypes.
I really, really enjoyed this book. Great characters, well-told situations and adventures, real reactions and even emotions. I can't wait to find out what happens next to these great gamers. Write on, author -- quickly!!!
Wow this was awesome. I really got to care about the characters and the system. Its different in a fun way. Seeing them come out of their shells made it more enjoyable.
Disclaimer: This is an ADULT-ONLY novel. I was intrigued by the concept. An Adult novel, with System, and Kink/BDSM themes. I figured that it would be standard trash. Not even close. Main character is believable, and bewildered by what's going on, has no clue how to proceed, asks his only real friend. Continues from there. Ending threw wrench in the works, and foreshadows an additional genre. Was actually quite impressed by this book, and I am looking forward to a book 2.
