She knew nothing about him -- except that she loved him
Psychologist Kathryn Kelley had never had a case like that of the man called Hunter. At a secret compound he trained for a covert mission. But Hunter in the flesh was nothing like the man in the dossier. His hard body and sharp mind were like a soldier's, but his bedroom eyes and gentle touch drew Kathryn like a lover.
Hunter had no memory of his life before Stratford Creek. But somehow he remembered the silky feel of Kathryn's hair. She awakened desire in him he'd never experienced, fear that he was in grave danger from the secrets of Stratford Creek. Only Kathryn could help him -- but once she discovered who he was, could she save him in time... and would she want to?
Ruth Glick (born 1942) is a best-selling author of healthy cookbooks and has also written dozens of romantic suspense romance novels under the pen name Rebecca York.
Ruth earned a B.A. in American Thought and Civilization from George Washington University and an M.A. in American Studies from the University of Maryland. Although she always wanted to become a writer, Glick was convinced that her lack of spelling skills meant that her goal was unattainable. As a stay-at-home mother, she took a community college course to help her choose a career. The course made it very clear that writing was her primary interest. Glick began writing articles for newspapers and magazines, but after several years decided to try writing fiction. Her first book, a kids' science fiction book, was finally purchased by Scholastic Inc..
Since then, Glick has become a highly successful author of over 50 romantic suspense and paranormal novels. Many of her novels are published under the Harlequin Intrigue line, and in June 2003, she became one of the first authors published under Berkley's new Sensation imprint. Before 1997, she often collaborated with Eileen Buckholtz and Kathryn Jenson.
Glick also is a highly regarded author of cookbooks focusing on healthy eating. She sometimes hires trained chefs to test the recipes that she creates, and makes sure that every recipe is tested at least three times before it appears in one of her cookbooks.
Glick is the head of the Columbia Writers Workshop. She and her husband, Norman Glick, live in Columbia, Maryland, where Ruth collects rocks, and enjoys cooking, walking, reading, gardening, travel, and Mozart operas. They have two grown children, Elissa and Ethan, and two grandsons (Jesse and Leo).
Needing a place to go to get away from her stalker, psychologist Kathryn Kelley takes a live-in position at a government research facility, teaching interpersonal skills to the mysterious "John Doe" (aka "Hunter"), a man with a mysterious past and a (presumably) deadly mission. When strange things start to happen at the facility, she realizes that Hunter is more than he seems, and that discovering his secrets could be dangerous to her health.
This is a re-read (years later) of one of my favorite old 43 Light Street books. It's full of the kind of craziness only found in romance novels, including apparent insta-love at a time before insta-love was a term. Kathryn is smart and strong, and Hunter is definitely her match. This is a series romance that has mostly held up to the test of time.
This novel had a very nice complexity to it. It had a little science, romance, and drama all wrapped up in one delicious package. I really enjoyed it and reading it was fun and fresh. It wasn't some crap spewed for a woman who likes to be taken care of. The heroine is smart, sexy, and she can carry her own baggage. The man was very manly and the sex scenes were very discreet and perfect for a first time romance reader.
The 43 Light Street series of books by Harlequin Intrigue are wonderful books! Definitely worth reading all these later!
Nowhere Man is an incredible book! Well written and thought out! It’s a little “romance book” in the love story but it’s definitely interesting!! And if you don’t skip ahead to find out the truth in the back story, it’s also a little surprising!!
Found this in a stack of my mom’s old books and it sounded interesting. I’m a sucker for anything about cloning. Fairly interesting, found the female a bit vapid, but that’s just genre type, I think.

Kathryn took the job to get away from a stalker. She didn't know what she was getting into. AAs she starts to work with Hunter, she realizes something isn't right. Now it's a fight to get out alive.
Kathryn Kelley goes to work at a secret facility where they are using drugs to whip people's memories and control them. The people in charge of the facility claim he was serving a life sentence for murder and they have found a way to rehabilitate criminals through drugs. Then she finds out what is really happening there. I felt so bad for Hunter when she first found out the true story and thought she couldn't love him.
