When Rex’s college sweetheart reaches out to him after years of no contact, Rex has no idea that the trajectory of his life is about to change forever.
Not only is she dying of cancer, she also has twins. Rex’s twins. One of the kids, his daughter Courtney, has been abducted by a child sex ring, and the police are making no headway in locating her.
Though rattled by these revelations, Rex vows to find Courtney and bring her back to her mother before the cancer kills her.
Rex, Digger, and their usual team set out to hunt down the trafficking ring and take Courtney home, but what they find in the process is an even uglier mess than they could have imagined, infecting all of America. What’s more, other world powers might be in on it, too.
REMORSELESS is a full-length novel, a nail-biting thriller by best-selling author JC Ryan. It is the sixteenth book in the electrifying Rex Dalton series.
Remorseless, #16 - It is always a pleasure to read another addition to this series. Well written with interesting, intriguing story lines well blended with a variety of believable characters and dialog, Digger and Rex's included, LOL. There is an unexpected twist to the story bringing up a bit of past history long forgotten/taken for granted in America.
Rex Dalton series: No Doubt, (#7?) - I read The Fulcrum before I read this short story. I enjoyed the writing style of the beginning chapters and the presentation of the island's natives and tourists. Quite comical until the murder, then the style changed similar to The Fulcrum. The Fulcrum actually did a great job with Rex and Digger, which makes this introduction of their histories unnecessary, but it is still a good read. 4*
The Fulcrum #1 - My first read by this author and I couldn't put the book down! Mesmerized by the writing style, the vivid descriptions and the storylines, I read without stopping. Fast paced, action packed and interesting on several facets. Rex is a good example of what many Americans used to be, the masses who made this country great. Now after the decades of the Dark State (read chapter 15 for clarification) at work molding the brainwashed and dumb downed younger American generations with Mickey Dees and smartphones, our future and security is at stake. This is not a political agenda on part of the author, but part of the description of what we're facing; the reasons Rex became driven. The truth of what we're actually facing with cartels, terrorists and the havoc and destruction caused by the corruption and ineptness of our governments screaming chimps. Oh, sorry, our politicians. While the ending was not a cliffhanger, the job was accomplished, the ending gives the opening to the next book of the series. 5*
The Power of Three #2 - I absolutely enjoy this author's books. If you're Ludlum and company fan, you will like Ryan, too. Well written, fast paced with intriguing and suspense filled storylines. The characters range from good to despicable, with many characters from the previous book. The emotions run the gamut. The terrible truth about America's governing leaders will dishearten many, but there's still hope the Dark State won't win completely. The relationship between Rex and Trigger develops, but at a great cost to both. Part of the cost brings Rex to make decisions about their future and leaves possibilities of multiple paths to be taken in their journeys. 5*
Unchained #3 - As good as all the other books were, this one tops them. Mr. Ryan has become one of my favorite (new) authors in my all time favorite genre. This is another well written and fast paced adventure. The intrigue and planning to make all come together is great. Everything is realistic, the storylines have been planned and well thought out. The characters are developed as much as their roles need them to be. The vivid and clear descriptions do not leave the reader confused but involved with the happenings. The travels are interesting in themselves. Rex and Digger are getting better with their relationship; and Rex is gathering a family of friends to end his days alone. 5*
Sideswiped #4 - Fast paced and intriguing, this interesting addition keeps the reader immersed in the story until the last page. Again, we met good and interesting characters and glimpses into another culture. The characters run the gamut from braggart fool to criminal mercenary to doctors and more. The vivid descriptions place the reader in the mix and flow. There's maybe a touch of romance, maybe not, ask Digger his opinion about that. The emotions don't run rampant as they did in Unchained, but there's enough to make the story work. 4*
The Inca Con #5 - In Peru, chasing history and finding new troubles keeps Rex and Digger in their roles as guardians for several characters including a village and their dying children. The duo are closed to married couple status finishing each other's thoughts; no traces of their earlier relationship since they've been together over a year. The storylines are interesting, the pace is steady and the action realistic. A special character holds Rex's attention and she's not a dumb dame. 5*
The French Girl #6 - Get ready for a whirlwind journey from country to country with Rex and Trigger saving others, yet again. The beginning started a bit slow laying the foundation about France and her players. Once the story started rolling, the pace never slowed down. The story lines run amok with all the different characters and agendas that occur in this book.
The characters are developed enough for their roles, while there's more to Rex and Digger. There are plenty of emotions and the suspense is thick in many places. Mr. Ryan's vivid descriptions place the reader in the middle of the action and still leaves plenty for the imagination. The series continues to grow in substance and leaves the reader wondering when the past is going to cross Rex's path. Rehka does wonders as Rex's girl Friday. 5*
Duty of Care #8 - For the first forty percent of this book, I though Gabaldon wrote it since it was like the later books of her Outlander Series. I have no problems with referencing a past event in the present book, but repetitiously and continuously? Every previous book was covered complete with redundant mentions. OK, we got it the first mention, especially the many of us have read all those books and remember each book. OK, before I get redundant.... If you can hang on until chapter 31 a.k.a. the 40 percent mark, the story takes off and it's all about the DoC. Again, it's well thought out, fast paced and action packed. Toss in a bit of romance in the blossom from several fronts to add something different. There's originality with some items, along with the standard SOP for other items. I won't say what happens with CRC and Rex, but there's plenty of avenues for this series to continue.
I have to admit I loved the revenge aspect; reminded me of Bronson's Kirsey, but Rex's targets are worse, especially the higher up the food chain they're found. And Mr. Ryan, through his character, does make a statement that surprised me: no one cares about the American People; this is on our national level, not about global opinion. Sadly, because of the badly edited thirty-nine percent of the book, I can only give this book a 3 star rating. There are some bits that are important to story, so just skip the redundancies, you won't miss anything, while you search for what belongs to DoC. 3*
Donna Teresa, #9 - Ryan is back! After the disappointing Duty of Care, this book makes up for DoC and brings back the action, suspense, drama and great characters for which this series is known. The author's careful background information may put off the knowledgeable reader, but the information is clear and brief and not redundant. Very few past events are briefly mentioned where needed, but not in excruciating detail (a DoC problem).
A few chapters of laying the foundations of all involved and then suspense and action begin. Many old characters return and multiple countries take part in one form or another; Rehka returns to a small part. There's a touch of romance, but most of the story is the strategies of all the involved characters and their actions. The target is surprise but a great one; success will create another world war. The editing is much better. I contacted the author to review his books. Clean language. 5* Rex Dalton series end.
This was an intense and heartbreaking story with unimaginable horrors and diabolical tragedies that everyone always thinks could never happen to their family, until it does. When Rex and crew get overwhelming news, Rex is questioning everything about the future, especially his part in it. When what should be exciting news reveals a tragedy that non of them ever thought they'd have to face, they all have to decide on their future. Will they let the emotional turmoil of what they're facing disrupt their decisions, or will they be able to be the hardened warriors that they are in order to go hunting? You'll have to read this to find out. Not a story to be missed! I would definitely like to see more stories in this series in the near future! I would definitely recommend this book, series, and author.
●●In regards to something mentioned during the book, I don't care whether it is "politically correct" or not, I refuse to call the inhumane individuals (it's difficult to believe they're human) anything besides what they truly are....... child molesters &/or pedophiles. As far as the comment in the author's notes at the end of the book regarding how some psychologists are labeling these individuals, basically the same way as heterosexual or homosexual...... I believe that those individuals need to see a psychologist of their own asap. They can attempt to label these inhumane terrorists with all of the pretty words that they want, but it will never change the facts that they prey and terrorize children and young adults. I guarantee that none of them would be advocating for the change in the names or how they are labeled if one of those children or young adults belonged to them! (Not that I would wish that fate upon my worst enemy ~ ok, I would wish the same fate on those who cause chaos and destruction on others onto themselves. An eye for an eye) I appreciate the authors who have taken the initiative to write about extremely difficult subjects like this. It can't be easy for them, especially having to research the subjects, but like this author, most are very sensitive, empathetic, and compassionate towards the victims and survivors. My only hope is that the people reading these stories have had their eyes opened by the evil and diabolical tragedies happening everywhere in the world.
I've recently finished reading this, and as my first Rex Dalton thriller, it's certainly an interesting read. This novel is 15 books deep into the series, so I definitely appreciate the character list given at the start of the copy. The characters were pretty diverse and fun to read about, plus there were a lot of statistics and information about the weaponry and the issue addressed. Also, the plot's second half was quite surprising - definitely didn't expect the . But for me there were a lot of problems which brought down the points.
Okay. I did like the statistics and information given, but as I read on the information seemed more and more excessive. At one point I saw a paragraph explaining Gen Z's - is that really relevant or necessary? It just made the narrative uninteresting. And on the topic of boredom, the first 60% was really just surveilling and catching the small fries, which made it rather repetitive.
Another problem was the plot holes/lack of elaboration. There were some parts that I thought required more explaining, like Besides, Rex Dalton et al. made it look so easy defeating the enemy but . There would definitely be a more advanced security system as well, and really Rex's raids were halved in difficulty level because his hackers could basically hack everything, which was so convenient and made the whole plot seem easy.
The premise was easy and had promise, but I feel like there were so many plot problems it was less fun to read, hence the three stars.
Note: I voluntarily wrote this honest review after receiving an ARC.
I never expected a Rex Dalton book to hit me where it hurts most!! Rex suddenly discovers that he is the father of sixteen year old twins - Reece who resembles him and Courtney! He also finds out that Courtney has been kidnapped by unscrupulous elements of the society to be inducted into the sex trade involving minor girls in Los Angeles!!
He decides to leave CRC along with Catia and Digger to rescue Courtney and bring everyone to justice. But his work family of John - Christelle, Josh - Marissa, and Greg- Rehka rally round him and the whole group travels to LA to help Rex, Digger and Catia. When they arrive, Rex meets with Jessica, the mother of the twins and whom he was supposed to marry, discovers that she is dying of cancer and in addition to rescuing Courtney, she needs Rex to take care of them when she is gone!
The story continues with the efforts of Rex and his whole team in rescuing not just Courtney but all the girls who have been forced into the sex trade ring by the unscrupulous people aided and abetted by corrupt police, politicians and other so called stalwarts of society!!
This is an operation outside of jurisdiction of CRC and as such it is done in total secrecy. The horror that is discovered is vile and shocking beyond all expectations!! Such heinous, disgusting and horrific events described in the book are bound to affect the readers beyond anything that they have read before!
Even after several days after reading the ARC copy of the book very graciously sent by the author, I am still reeling under the shock.
Even if this is your first Rex Dalton thriller (and, it won’t be your last), the author gives a short back story of the various characters, bringing you up to speed in no time. All of the characters are realistic and three dimensional. My favorite character, after Rex, is Digger, the Australian shepherd he inherited following the death of a good friend. Digger is extremely talented and easily figures out how to act when Rex and Catia are undercover. He is known for his smiles, which can be quite charming or quite horrifying, depending on his feelings toward you. I won’t summarize the plot, since other reviewers have done it so well. I will say that this is a book you will not want to put down. The action becomes quite intense at times, but is never gory nor gruesome. There were a few parts that were rather unsettling because the book deals with the horrible crime of child sex trafficking. Rex learns that those in authority turn a blind eye to this crime, and often are criminally involved themselves. The author is not afraid to write about current issues and to bring them out of the shadows. Humor is thrown in as the characters joke with one another, and then you will be back on the edge of your seat. I highly recommend this book, and the entire series, to anyone who enjoys a good thriller with intelligent characters and a well planned and executed plot. I don’t know how he does it, but this author continually manages to surpass the previous books in this series.
Disclosure: I was given a free ARC and am voluntarily leaving this unbiased review.
I received an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
The story begins in a brothel where one of the girls has tried to escape. It then relates what penalty will happen if someone doesn't do the right thing. It then introduces Lt. Harris who is killed to the scene of a murdered girl.
The story then starts with a surprise revelation that Rex learns. It seems that earlier when Rex was younger, John told him he fathered twins. He was also told that the mother was dying and wanyed to see him. Rex upon learning this along with his wife Catia, traveled to California. Rex also learned that his daughter was missing as well. Once they arrived , Rex went to the police dept. where he met Lt. Harris. There Rex learned about a sex trafficking ring who was operating and his daughter was taken by that group.
Rex upon meeting up with the twins' mother, Rex's girlfriend from years earlier, she asked him to find Courtney and bring her back so that she could see her once more before she died. Rex agreed and the search began.
Follow Rex and the rest of the CRC team as they began searching for Courtney. Discover how the girls became enticed and became easy prey. Learn what steps were taken as they hunted who was responsible. Read the ending and discover that there is more going on than originally beleived and how this became a major security threat.
Human trafficking is despicable, whichever form it takes. However, the trade in sex slavery, especially of children, makes my hair raise in spikes in sheer anger. Small wonder Rex Dalton had fits when discovering that a college sweetheart not only had twin kids sixteen years ago, but they were his and the daughter disappeared presumably kidnapped as a sex slave. I love these action thrillers by author JC Ryan but none captured my attention as did Remorseless. Remorseless got me paging through this entire gripping book in one sitting, enraptured and silently cheering as Rex got involved in tracing down his daughter. I have to commend the author too for the various moments of fine humour that tended to rise to the fore every now and then. They made for a nice change to the tension and thrilling action that would otherwise have had you gripped in paroxysmal reading as the plot develops. Well done all round.
Another great JC Ryan Rex Dalton book. Rex finds out that he is the father of twins and his sweetheart of prior years is dying. His daughter has been abducted by a sex ring. He promises his former fiance that he will return her before she dys from her cancer. There is not much time. This action is different as it is an unsanctioned mission that could put Rex in prison if caught. The whole CRC team volunteer to help much to Rex's dismay. He tries to disway then as they could also end up dead or in prison but they all end up helping .
This was fiction but as Mr. Ryan states after the book it is based on factual data with names and locations fictional. This story may open the eyes of those that are able to help stop this terror of our youth.
It is well worth your time to read and enjoy as well as to become aware of a problem needing more attention.
Saw the cold cool killer come out in Rex Dalton this time. It was all private, it wasn’t a mission. He find out he has twin children 16 years after the fact. The girl got caught up in drugs and sex slavery. He goes out to save her, killing everyone in the way. He meets his 16 yo daughter for the first time by walking into a room holding a gun. She is naked in bed with a naked man. She sits up and it’s like “Hi dad. You look like my brother”. Oh my. Never met before and your never met before father walks in on you naked with a man and your “dad” is holing a gun on you and you just say hi??
I don’t know it seemed it was a catastrophe but then the kids were like “ oh this is awful save me save me , followed by hi dad !?! And much more blood and guts with honestly little concern for the lawfulness of it all. Just didn’t seem to go with Rex and Digger books.
When a book has any possibility of being a reality, it's immediately more of a draw for me. Obviously, Ryan discloses that the book is a work of fiction but at the end cites his sources for some of the factual sex trafficking information. I loved that he kept the chapter short, which made flying through this book way too easy. I loved that it was a typical family dynamic in the beginning, but they were brought together in the end. Obviously, I don't love the situation for them. The book was extremely well written, and the characters were as well. There was enough detail to make you angry without it being too repulsive to read. Would definitely recommend this book!

Another incredible Rex Dalton Thriller by RC Ryan. Be warned though, this may be unsettling for some readers as the subject is horrifying as it is based on fact. Rex and his wonderful dog Digger are on the hunt for the result of learning of facts kept from him for over 15 years. The whole CRC team gets involved. You may shudder at what they turn up, but you will cheer in the end. I also read the short story called Digger which tells the back story of how Rex first met Digger.
Both book and story were given to me by the author. However, I am voluntarily posting an honest review.
Rex Dalton is about to have his world turned upside down. The "Old Man" has been keeping a secret for 16 years and now he must confess! As is par for the course in a Rex Dalton book, the story is action packed and full of plenty of twists and turns. Author JC Ryan has provided yet another thriller with a subject matter which is true to life. A great read, a great story. As an ARC reader for this author, I was provided with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
I have been an avid fan of JC Ryan for quite some time, but his new book Remorseless with Rex Dalton and Digger bowled me out of the park. In this book, Rex, Digger, and their team's mission is a bit different from the past but nail-biting from the first to the last page. A few twists in the plot will definitely surprise you. Even though the books as always are fictitious, I am pretty sure there are problems like these somewhere in the world—much food for thought.
Rex finds himself with twins he didn’t know he had. His girlfriend from years back, abandoned 16 years ago by Rex when his parents and siblings were killed in a bombing never let him know. Now his daughter is being held by pimps who specialize in providing children to pedophiles. His task is to find his daughter as well as free the children being forced into sex slavery. ENJOY!
JC Ryan serves up another amazing Rex Dalton story in Remorseless. This one doesn't just invite the reader in, but from the start thrusts the reader into this high octane, fast paced, thrill ride that is masquerading as a simple novel. For anyone who has followed this series from the start, this book is certainly one that should not be missed. All the characters have returned for this episode, and for all the Digger fans, there's a lot of Digger to love in this book!
Another excellent thriller from J.C. Ryan. This storyline delves into sex slavery and child sexual abuse. The impact of these activities takes a toll on all of the books characters. It's a shame such justice doesn't exist in the real world. I hope this does open people's eyes to this societal problem and will encourage more citizens to insist that police take this problem more seriously and get the resources necessary to fight this evil.
16th book in the Digger and Rex series; JC Ryan's REMORSELESS.
One of the most informative and hardest books I've ever read on a topic that the news media doesn't seem to give a hoot about. Because of Epstein, he and his girls were front and center for months, yet society is letting millions of exploited children fall through the cracks. Ah, well, find you a serial killer and he gets coverage 24-7.
I defy anyone to read REMORSELESS and not be moved.
This was probably the best book of the series. My takeaway was the authors research and storyline into child sex trade. Be prepared for an emotional run. Lastly, having worked with Special Forces in all branches, I give credit to the author for writing a series of books that minimizes the use of curse words. I understand the reason and importance for certain words to be used. Excellent book ~ Great ending!
This is my first time reading a book in this series and it was a very interesting read. It is a well written story with an intriguing story line. It was interesting getting to know the characters and the twists in the story was great. Even though I had not read any of the other books in this series, I did not feel lost or confused. I will now have to go back and read this series from the beginning.
Several times the book brought me to tears. What children around the world are suffering through, and politicians, dirty cops and judges and what they get away with. Pedophilia isn't just that creepy guy in the van. It's the cop who turns a blind eye, the lawyer and the judge who through technicalities let these bastars to. It's the politicians who refuse to see there's even a problem.
Absolutely unput down able! Lost sleep due to my need to find out what happens next! A very well constructed tale that also educates us into things we have no knowledge of. Great factual research is the backbone of this tale collecting great characters working together to achieve a Happy result! Don,t miss it !
Rex discovers after all these years, that he has twins from an old college sweetheart. She is dying from cancer, and the girl twin, Courtney, has been kidnapped by a child sex ring. Rex , Digger, and their team find that the ring goes much farther than thought. Another exciting and enjoyable adventure for Rex and Digger.
This one started off slow and I wondered if I could make it through. Boy am I glad I did! The plot talks about a tough and emotional topic. I hate that this happens in real life. I loved all of the characters. The relationship that Rex has with Digger is amazing! I loved their dialogue. I can’t wait to read others in the Rex Dalton series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book from Hidden Gems.
I really hope this isn’t the end of Rex Dalton and Digger’s adventures! In this one, it’s all about family, biological and that of the heart. It addresses the seriousness of the child sec trafficking business and, of course spying. A great book, but now I miss Cupcake too!
I cannot begin to describe how good these series of books are .i will save them in my library and read them in a couple of years again.I’m hoping the series will go on beyond the 16 I’m sure there is lots more left in the series . Thank you Mr j c Ryan
Another outstanding book in this series. Rex and Digger have become 'almost merged', which is humourous and exciting. The story reads like a true-to-life drama, with the need for secrecy and action. I was rooted to it from beginning to end. I know I'll be picking up this saga again very soon.
This is the 12 to 13th book By JC Ryan that I read. Without a doubt His books are exciting, His characters are real life , an Digger's Extraordinary Exploits Make this a truly entertaining Read. Weaving in the unrefutible facts of child trafficking make this a truly emotional read. Love his books
Disturbing topic to read about but with Rex and Digger leading the way you plowed through some of the drama and trauma. The ending was top-notch and satisfying. Hope the author doesn't take these characters in the direction that Clive Cussler took Dirk Pitt when he found out he was the father of twins. For me that series ended when the twins became a focal point. This series should be all about the stars. Rex and Digger.
An extremely detailed story with gobs of action and death. The novel moves at a great pace and fantastic action. The characters are quite and well characterized. The villains are well disposed of and the story ends happily. This was easily read and enjoyed in one sitting .
This book in this series really upped the ante, the plot was excellent, and the characters really added to the overall story. I really had a hard time putting this book down the pages almost turned themselves. I hate that there is only one left in this series, the books seemed to get better and better.
