This is nothing more than a very short chapter detailing the events of book one from Eve’s point of view.

If I’m honest, after reading this I disliked Eve somewhat. That changed as the books progressed meaning I was more than happy when there were no more diary entries to be found at the back of books. Seriously, this just made her seem like a character to dislike and such is actually not the case for Eve.

This really made me grasp how young Eve actually is. I can't recall much from my previous read about her brother and Brandon but I do know that I'm dreading being reminded about it all.. I liked this little insight into Eve and her diary.

For anyone wondering, I found this at the end of my copy of Glass Houses. Apparently it's just an eight-page teaser-type chapter for the next book in the series.

I will say it was kind of neat to get Eve's perspective after reading Claire's throughout Glass Houses, and a couple of new things come out (like why Eve dresses in goth gear). But it's eight pages, and was really not worth the hunting I did online beforehand trying to figure out where to get it.

I really, really, really like reading from Eve's pov, I have no idea why! Maybe because Caine enjoys writing Eve and it shows! The only reason I'm not giving this five stars is because of an error(?) that I think it has. It says the Claire is going to find the book, and then Shane makes his deal with Brandon, but isn't the reason Claire wants to find the book is because of the deal? So shouldn't it be the other way round??

We do get a little insight on the trio before Claire moved in and Eve's perspective on the resident Glass hottie but otherwise I could have lived on without reading it. If anything this insight on Eve made me think less of her. From the first book, Eve gives off a more mature feel and with the diary entries it made her seem really immature and childish at times.

This was a free short story included in one of the early Morganville Vampires books with Eve narrating it. It was a short decent read and is not included in Midnight Bites, the Morganville Vampirs anthology.

This came free with the paperback of the first book in the series. It gives Eve's point of view of the first book. There seemed to be a disconnect between the Eve in the main story and the Eve in the diary, but a diary is a view of the writer's innermost thoughts so I can understand why there may be a difference.

Shortest book ever — lol. Still, a nice read. It covers the aftermath of book 1, which was interesting.

Honestly, I think I would’ve preferred reading from Eve’s POV rather than the wannabe genius’s.

Nice perspective from Eve's point-of-view. I should've read it when I was reading the series though.

This is a nice little look into Eve's perspective of things. I wish it was longer but it was infinitely interesting to see things from her point of view.

This was very redundant. It didn't really add anything except a (very) little more detail about what happened at the end of the book...which could have just been included at the end of the book.

i wouldn't have considered this a separate story, it was at the end of the first book....i thought it was like a bonus chapter....i think there may have neen a few more....after the first few books, but then they stopped. i liked them as a part of the story, leading in to the next book. i'd probably be disappointed though if i read it by itself...

i remember being a little sad when the next book i read didn't have an excerpt from eve's diary in it.

Read my full review on my blog, just click here.

I really like that at the end of Glass Houses, after reading the book from Claire's POV, that you get to read a short from Eve's POV. Plus you also get to learn more about Eve, her past, why she acts/dresses the way she does. I really wish these had continued throughout the series.

I liked this extra piece from Eve's point of view! The first book is from Claire's perspective so I loved reading what Eve though about the same events. I think it's great that the author has written these extras so we get to learn more about the other characters! I can't wait to read more in this series!

This was at the end of Glass Houses (Book #1) and thanks to the author, is also available for free at http://www.morganvillevampire.com/

Title: Eve's Diary
Series: The Morganville Vampires #1.5
Author: Rachel Caine

This is simply a short snippet channelling Eve's POV of the events of book one in the Morganville Series. It was okay, but it was nothing overly special.

At the very start, I did not know Eve so well; so, the only way to find out how she thought and felt was mainly through the diary entries. They did not make her sound good. They made her sound annoying and materialistic and totally immature. This changed, though, in later books.
Eve's way more awesome now that I have seen the character development! Such an awesome series! I love, love, love!

Eve's Diary is book #1.5 in the Morganville Series by Rachel Caine. This short story is an excerpt from Eve's diary and a teaser for book two. If you missed this book in the series, you haven't missed a morsel of the story. It didn't draw me in and felt like more like an update before book two.

An interesting take into the life of Eve. I enjoyed reading the short summaries of the way Eve had felt during the events that had taken place within the book. The character portrayal was done well, her soft, childish like nature was well portrayed.
