Sean Michael

Often referred to as "Space Cowboy" and "Gangsta of Love" while still striving for the moniker of "Maurice," Sean Michael spends his days surfing, smutting, organizing his immense gourd collection and fantasizing about one day retiring on a small secluded island peopled entirely by horseshoe crabs. While collecting vast amounts of vintage gay pulp novels and mood rings, Sean whiles away the hours between dropping the f-bomb and persuing the kama sutra by channeling the long lost spirit of John Wayne and singing along with the soundtrack to "Chicago."

A long-time writer of complicated haiku, currently Sean is attempting to learn the advanced arts of plate spinning and soap carving sex toys.

Barring any of that? He'll stick with writing his stories, thanks, and rubbing pretty bodies together to see if they spark.

I liked this because it wasn't the same-old, same-old Sean Michael. The MCs were good together, even though there was zero character development. I'm not a fan of flashbacks interspersed with the present: unless there's a really good reason (and I didn't see one here) it always seems choppy to me. The BDSM is mild: restraint and sound-play, which was well-written and quite compelling. The sounds took it from a 3 to a 4-star for me.

I was disappointed at the end with 5 pages of blurbs for other writers' books. I like to know how much story I've got left, and this filler material always pisses me off.

Two sexy cops who go on an undercover assignment in a BDSM club – how much hotter can it get? Believe, me, a lot! The thing is, even thought the scenes in the club were great, what made this book interesting for me was the psychological situation of the two main characters and how they dealt with the aftermath of this assignment. That is where the real story happened, and the memories of the BDSM club only came in as needed to explain what they were dealing with in the present.

Very hot BDSM story that I wish were fleshed out more

Warning: This review might contain what some people consider SPOILERS.

Rating: 8/10

PROS:
- The physical attraction between the two men is incredible, and I’m not just talking about run-of-the-mill chemistry. I’m talking about something that’s bone-deep, something that both men need. And the best part is that Michael conveys this within about 10 pages of the story’s start.
- Because of the point above, the sex scenes are hot. Really hot. And the story is approximately 80% naked. (BDSM, just so you know.)
- I often get confused when a story mixes present scenes with flashbacks, but Michael has a clever way of keeping the past and present straight here: all of the flashbacks are told using the characters’ undercover names.

CON:
- When Brian and Griff first meet, Griff insists that he is not a submissive, nor even a bottom. By the end of the story, he is most definitely Brian’s sub in mind, body, and spirit. The story suffers in that we don’t get to see much of the transformation from Point A to Point B.

Overall comments: I liked this a lot, if only because the sexual attraction seemed particularly well-written to me and I found it incredibly hot. As a result of that alone, I’m sure I’ll re-read it. What keeps it from being really great is its bareness: I would have loved to see this story really fleshed out.

Undercover cops in the world of BDSM and the impact of their undercover relationship on their post-assignment lives - a really interesting plot which would have been even better in a longer length book. The story touched on a number of things regarding the undercover case but not in any detail.

I was confused from the get go with this book. Then I noticed it was #30 in the series but the other titles are by different authors so I figured it's a stand alone. Oh well. The jumping back and forth and the name changes was confusing and not done very well. This was pretty much just porn without plot. It's a short novella and I practically skimmed all the pages. I needed to get this off my Kindle and I've done that. I'm happy now.

Hot and short and gets right to the gist of the story which was a little different than the usual. The POV/flashback changes were a little confusing, and I had to keep remembering who was who, since they used their real names, as well as the undercover names. Also, the one/two word dialog gets a little old and tiresome, but it was still an enjoyable story.

3.5 stars. Very very hot BDSM story about a couple of cops trying to figure their way out after a long under cover case. A little bit jarring going back and forth between time frames, but still a very effective piece.

The premise of the book was a bit farfetched, but I learned something new today. I had to Google what a sound was and then was too scared to click on the video. But I am pretty sure I've figured it out. It's true - reading does make you smarter.

Two very handsome cops were undercover at BDSM club. This alone could make good BDSM story, but wait plot got further. They discover that they fit together with their taste and game continues.

Brian & Griff were undercover for a long time and in that time they each discover some deep things about themselves but when the job is done it should be done. Yet the both are unsettled. Now they must figure out if they can have it all and maybe have it even better because it can now be real.

4.5 stars This may be a short story, but lordy it packed a punch. And hot? Heavens yes, think Ty and Zane into BDSM and you'll be right there, just less character depth, lol. I swear Griff and Brian had my Kindle overheating.

Our heroes are undercover in a BDSM club and know going in they will have to play their parts as Dom and sub to the fullest to pull off a bust of the drug suppliers. Being so attracted to each other, even though they met for the first time when partnered for this undercover mission, they have no problem putting on a good show.

The only niggle I have with the story is that it starts off in the present and goes back and forth in time to show us how they progress to present time. Since both have an undercover name as well as their real names, this can get confusing at first and you have to keep track of "Oh, now I'm in the past and, ah, yeah, Sam is Griff." But writing the story this way did keep things very interesting, so it's not really a complaint, rather a heads up on the flashbacks.

Highly recommend!

Well... I learned what sound-play is.. found... interesting.. the whole flashback thing didn't work for me.. I don't necessarily mind them but it was unclear that was what it was until you get a few paragraphs in, thinking huh? So, I realize they actually have history (flashbacks) but it seems after approx. 6months and a few hours refresher sex they are now jumping into a relationship.. I'm soo not a fan of that with remotely no paranormal type background involved.. and even they should have to 'work for it' a little.. shouldn't just be able to fall into a relationship like that with no bumps in the road.. that's just human nature.. so.. was mostly just interesting learning a little about sound

Sorry, I didn't really care for this :( It was too repetitive. I want. I need. Can I also say I hate the "boy". Every time I read it in my head comes a southern twang and it's annoying. Maybe that's just me, but I just don't like the term. It was used A LOT in here.

I liked the flash backs, but I guess I would have preferred chronological so we could get a better feel for Griff and Brian aka Sam and Nick. Why did Griff wait 6 months to go to Brian?

Sounding. Ummm...holy hotness. I am fascinated with cock stuffing now. I better not get a virus from all the videos ;)

I have an addiction to Sean Michael's books. This one is the epitome of why. As a writer I love the way he can, in even a short book, tell a story in the middle of an endless line of really hot sex scenes. Yes, this one is the shortest of his books that I've read so far but I got where the two characters met, how they discovered their need for each other and the roles they play in BDSM. Could have been longer, oh wow yes it could have. I think these characters deserved to have their stories played out a little longer but hey, this is crazy hot.

It was a really HOT short story (this one was only 47 pages). I rarely buy short stories because I prefer to have some character and plot development, but since I like smut in my M/M, I wasn't disappointed.

I did start to get annoyed with Grif/Sam's repetitive "I need. I want. Please." I was like...Okay...WHAT IS IT??? Also, the flashbacks were kind of confusing because at first there wasn't any indication of that happening. It just sort of happened. Oh...the sounds were a little disturbing.

3.25 stars.

This could have had a much higher ratings but there was very little character development, just lots and lots of sex. I would have liked to see more of the two MCs after the undercover gig. If you like BDSM PWPs this would be for you. But for readers who need more plot and characterizations, I'd skip.

3 1/2 stars!

This story starts out at a later point in the story, then gives you the beginning, then bounces back. It’s interesting and might take a little getting used to, but it’s worth it. These two cops together are pretty hot. So is the sex.

Reunited...and it feels so good...
Loved this quick story about undercover partners who can't stand to be apart once the mission is over. Griff's reaction to his own submissiveness is amusing, and I like that his struggles. Makes it so much better when he relents. Brian makes a damn fine Dom. Just a fun erotic read.

I don't normally read short stories but Sean Michael is a guilty pleasure of mine. I've for to say this was intense in the best way and the flashbacks worked well. Yes, I wanted more but it was satisfying.

Griff and Brian are finished with undercover work at a BDSM club but Griff can't let it go.....He needs Brian and can't get it up for anyone else....An intense read and am not surprised that Griff needed Brian after what he had to do at the club x

This is a great concept for a storyline. Two cops go undercover in a BDSM club for 6 months during which they enter into a strong D/s relationship, when the job is over they are advised not to see each other. However, they are both finding it impossible to be without each other.

Whew! This was steamy! I love a good cops undercover fall in lust and/or love story and this was a good one. It switches back and forth between the past and the present and I didn't mind it, but I did wish it had been more clear when the time frame changed.
