T. Jackson King (Tom) is an Amazon bestselling science fiction and urban fantasy author. He is a lifelong reader of SciFi/Fantasy stories and his favorite authors have included Darynda Jones, BR Kingsolver, K.F. Breene, Martha Carr, Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, Andre Norton, J. K. Rowling, Ann Christy, Lois McMaster Bujold and Ursula LeGuin. Outside of fantasy and science fiction he has enjoyed the novels of Rudyard Kipling, Charles Dickens, Edgar Allan Poe and Arthur Conan Doyle, and the urban fantasy crime mysteries of Darynda Jones.

Tom began writing SF novels at age 38, when he discovered he had read all the Human-Alien first contact or encounter novels in his local library. So he decided to write his own, thanks to an overactive, very visual imagination. Those early years produced FIRST CONTACT and RETREAD SHOP. When the New York City publishing houses ignored his later novels because they had no Hollywood tie-in, he went to several small presses, then began self-publishing as an Indy author in 2011. He loves that readers in the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia are some of his most loyal readers!

Before becoming a bestselling author, Tom worked in a radiocarbon lab at UC Riverside and earned an MA degree in Archaeology from UCLA. His interests in ancient history, ancient cultures and journalism got him several government agency jobs that led him to roam the raw landscape of the Western United States where he worked as a federal archaeologist and newspaper journalist.

Tom lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA and hangs with a group of smart and tolerant Westerners. Divorce taught him to smile a lot and to work at being a Nice Guy. Which earned him the love of his wife Sue. Still, he is pretty weird. Has been since fourth grade when he began reading SciFi. Since then, he and Authority have rarely been in agreement. Mr. King's tech jargon, acronym-loaded, experimental-punctuation style drives me nuts, but... Bang-up science fiction, another terrific universe and story.

Star Vigilante is one of the best hard sci-fi novels I've read in years.

T. Jackson King has put together an outstanding action-packed thriller complete with cyborgs, deadly aliens, spaceships and high-tech weaponry galore. What a thrilling read and page turner. The author keeps alive the traditions set by Robert C. Heinlein and Ray Bradbury.

This novel has such scope, complexity and sense of humanity that it leaves the reader awed and inspired. It's a Robin Hood tale in space.

The author himself has a rich background. He's a longtime sci-fi writer, professional archaelogist (a modern Indiana Jones) and journalist, a former traditionally published author, and a top class science fiction writer.

At only $2.99, the Kindle version of this novel is a steal and well worth a much higher price.

My only quibbles with the book, and they are minor, is that the action is so relentless it hardly gives the reader time to breathe and a few scenes go on for an unnecessarily long time. A bit tighter editing is called for in places.

But if you're a sci-fi fan, you must read this book. I'm not a sci-fi writer but the book is an excellent example of how to write a great book. It has many of the elements of thrillers, which is my genre, and captivates the reader from beginning to end.

This is a solid, fun read and well worth your time. An unreserved 5-stars!

Star Vigilante is an action-packed sci-fi thriller that I thoroughly enjoyed. T. Jackson King deftly weaves a tale of reluctant heroism in a far-flung lawless high-tech future where might makes right, and one cyborg and his ship dares to stand up against overwhelming odds to "do the right thing".

A compelling page turner from beginning to end, I would definitely recommend this book - and I look forward to a sequel.

I had a little trouble getting interested on the story at first but it gained momentum. It is a sound story and I like the characters. Would have liked some story describing the transition to a cyborg as a lead on to the main story. Overall a enjoyable book to read and has a great pace once you move into the story a bit

I wasn't sure if I wanted to give the author three or four stars, it is a interesting story great use of technology the protagonist is some what interesting the plot is alright except there is no build up you are thrown in and kind of have to add stuff together to get a decent picture of who the characters are and how they got where they are.

The thing I like best about this world was the world building it had some decent concepts in it. I gave it 3 stars because he didn't mess it up too much with the story. I feel no need to read any further in the series though. I'm absolutely sure that they'll be terrible so I'm not going to try.

I can't wholeheartedly recommend this to others. It's a bit too melodramatic and cheesy.

I will say, though, that I personally will be continuing to read this series and potentially the author. It kinda just pushes buttons on what I often like to read. Hopefully the author's writing will 'up' itself a bit over time.

The time-stuff (his ability to act in milliseconds and whatnot) with being a cyborg was pretty damned cool, but it's a bit rough on the actual writing of it. Another thing I hope kinda improves with more books. :)
