Freedom Bound #2

Femme Chattel

Rate this book
Preston Marshall's idea of a perfect date ended with his partner strapped to the bed. And in his lofty social position, that was one stance he couldn't be known to take. It just. Wasn't. Done.

And so Preston withdrew into himself. By day he threw himself into his job as a highly visible corporate executive. But by night, he became a social recluse.
Until inspiration came: If he approached his fantasy like he approached a business deal, he could live his life without losing his company.

On the other side of the world, with her own set of motivations veiled by a searing past and another language, Irina Senko was just the woman to enter such a deal.

One year.

Total surrender.

No boundaries. No apologies.

I am an erotic romance novelist living in Texas.

In addition to writing, I enjoy riding my Harley, hanging out at my ranch with my dogs, horses and family, and reading books. I am actually a systems engineer by trade.

Now, I have no idea what it is about any of this that drives me to write these stories, but I know I'm not about to stop. I'm already conjuring up my next twisted tale. I have a lot of personal experiences and several nefarious friends to draw interesting stories from, as well as an endlessly perverted imagination. So, there will be no shortage of material to work with for years to come.

I sincerely hope that you enjoy reading my stories as much as I enjoy creating them. I can't thank you enough for your ongoing support. This has been an amazing experience for me.

This poor sweet man has denied himself everything for so long. Raised by a cold stoic workaholic and no mother, he never loved anyone and no one loved him. Not even any of the staff who raised him. And he never gave in to his desire for Kinky Fuckery because of fear of the media, fear of his fathers disapproval, even his boss' disaproval. So he pretended, avoided, did not live, only worked and had disappointing sex with strangers. So heartbreaking.

He is also forced to only be second in command (VP) at his fathers company below someone who is not even related (the CEO). Another punch in his gut.

So his father is dead, he finally decides to try buying a full time slave, (chattel, property) to finally get some rewarding sex for himself. Hoping to keep it a secret.

The poor man has never been a dom, never been to a club, has only minimal training and experience, and he's suddenly in charge of this whole other vulnerable person, who needs him to be strong and controlled.

He's got a whole life of masturbating to porn and fantasies of what it will be like and he has to struggle to control it, to not hurt her, once he finally gets the opportunity. He's a bit like a kid in the candy store, but also a bull in a china cabinet.

He eats grapes out of her ass and loves it, but he also leaves her alone when he shouldn't, and he has trouble with consistency 24/7.

He beats her for no reason than he's frustrated, he is uncomfortable that she has 'issues' and wants to send her back. He doesn't want her to even speak to him to avoid the 'mess'. He negotiates it all, but it's a bit awkward and scary along the way.

Slowly...slowly...he softens, he becomes human. It's beautiful. And his worst fear, to be exposed, turns out to not be so awful afterall.

NO TYPO's!! Hoorah! love that. Loved the concept of the inexperienced dom, haven't read too many of those story lines.

Some things could have been improved; less detail on the work sub-plot and a longer processing time for the resolution, more of his thoughts. Definitely needed some of her POV, and more physical description of him. In fact, we don't even know what he looks like. I imagined him like Christian or Gideon. It could have had a formal gala or ball and some drama, more outside social interactions besides the hot pool guy. Would have loved to see him beat the crap out of somebody, any of the jerks in this story. would have liked to see her enjoying the pool or american food, restaurants, and him enjoying giving her that. Heck, he could give her some diamonds too while he's at it. LOL.

Would have liked to see something happen with the pool guy? a threesome or some exhibitionism? Would like to read the pool guys book.

Anyway, I'm honored to be the first reviewer of this book.

It appears Dakota Lynn is a new author, but I expect we'll see more good stuff from her in the future.

This was an interesting story as well as a great erotic read.

I loved Preston, I do love a guy who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to be an ass while getting it. Rich, entitled and sexy all at the same time.

Then he starts to fall for Irina and his tough starts to slowly come undone. Not all the way undone. He is still has more than enought rough edges for me to not want this book to end.

Story: FAIRLY GOOD
Intimacy Level: BDSM/GOOD
Enjoyment: GOOD
Length: 297 pages / 7193 kindle

I've never read anything by this author before and must say I'm intrigued. Half way through this story, I realized there is a book prior to Preston and Irina's story. The story I'm referring to is Protégée (Freedom Bound), as Dirk, from this story, talks to Preston a lot to give advise. So, I am interested in reading Protégée (Freedom Bound) as well.

As for Preston and Irina's story,I found it very interesting. It was, weird for me in a good way. I say weird because this Dom/Submissive story is told from Preston's point of view. The author really gave us a detailed insight into Preston's world as he isn't your typical Dom. Because of the way he was brought up, he has suppressed his inner Dom because of his father. Now that he is sick of his routined life, he finds a slave/submissive aboard, who speaks no English, who he has a year with to do as he pleases. But for Preston, this is all new to him. Preston was a nice Dom. He is unlike any Dom I have read, and I think I feel this way because most Dom's I've read are experience. So for other readers, I'm not sure if this will be a turn off or interesting read for you. Though he lacks the experience of a Dom, he still took you there by letting the reader experience certain things that he was and wanted to do with Irina. Though I find his life to be strange, the author also focuses on his work at the workplace. I was a little confused by this and wondered why I am reading about his position so much. However, the author ties in his work and home life as it comes full circle for Preston.

The relationship between Preston and Irina became more as both got into their roles. I wondered how the story would play out as Irina was not able to speak English. She also had her own story and personal reasons why she is doing what she's doing. As the story progressed, we find out more about her.

Overall, I personally liked the way the author approaches the story. It was a bit different for me, but still very much likable that I would like to read the prior story.

Bdsm

The mail order submissive got the troubled man and a happy ever after ending. There were many twists to the plot between the sex encounters. He was a jerk, but overcame it!

Overall, I liked this book. I liked Preston's internal struggles to come to grips with who he is in all areas of his life. He discovers that he has judged others to quickly. He tried for years to hide who he was and he begins to challenge his views. Irena has her own problems that lead to her coming to the United States to be Preston's sex slave.

It felt to me that the development of their emotional relationship skipped forward too fast. Preston talked about how strong Irena was without a lot to back it up. It felt there was a bunch missing. I would have liked more about what was going on between them and how they felt about each other.

I would recommend the book id you are looking for steamy BDSM scenes without a lot of back story. I like a little more story with my yummy scenes. Otherwise it just seems like porn. Not that there is anything wrong with that.... if that is what you are looking for. For me it just detracted from the book.

After reading Protege, I couldn't wait for this one. Although I enjoyed it, I found the main character Preston frustrating. Determined to push what felt natural to him away throughout started to grate on me. I understand why he acted as he did, but as the relationship between Irina and himself grew, I hoped to see more acceptance from him.

Something very erotic about not being able to speak to one another, only relying on body language to communicate, ensuring you by no means get bored reading this!!!!!!!!

It was good to see elements of his past featuring Dirk as well and I'm looking forward to reading the conclusion.

I want to say I liked this book... I do. I'm still thinking about it, because it was one that I kept putting down. Preston was a likable character even with his flaws, but you don't really get to know Irina at all. I think it would have been better to have her POV in the story as well. I was honestly more interested in the stuff he had going on with work in the story than I was with the relationship between them. He broke some big Dom no no's, so I don't really think he should be going around calling himself a Dom. He has a lot to learn and hopefully Dirk will teach him.

Not sure why, but this did not hit me well after Protegee, the first book in the trilogy. Don't worry, the first two stand-alone quite well, it's only in the the third book that brings things together. I didn't like Preston Marshall well enough to get past the first 25 or 30% of the book, although I did skip to the end to see what the resolution was. Then I was glad I hadn't bothered, because it seems like a lot of the plot is based on Marshall's job in corporate America.
