She nursed for 20 years, working in a variety of settings from the newborn nursery to the recovery room, to dialysis. But she never lost her desire to write.
She sold her first book in 1994 to Silhouette Romance but later discovered she had a flair for comedy and branched out to Harlequin Duets and now, to Blaze.
Lori is an adventuresome soul who loves to travel. She’s taken flying lessons, completed two marathons, rode in a hot-air balloon, performed with a professional jazz band, traveled Europe as a teenager, hiked volcanoes in Hawaii, trod on glaciers in Alaska, shot white-water rapids, water-skied, snow-skied, raced all-terrain vehicles, bodysurfed in the Gulf of Mexico, and photographed grizzly bears in Yellowstone.
She lives in her native Texas, with her own real-life hero, Bill.

these three stories all go together nicely. lori wilde always writes a good story and this one was sweet. my fave was candace havens humorous and sweet story. the loser in the book was kathleen o'reilly's. she is a fine author but what happens in her book is inexcusable for a romance story and also something dangerous the heroine does had no place in this book.

Christmas Kisses - Lori Wilde - 3 /5 - Noah Briscoe is a police detective and a bit of a grinch. His job brings him in contact with Alana, who is the sexiest woman he knows. They went on a date once and things got hot and heavy, but Alana called a halt and they haven’t dated since. Alana thinks Noah is an incredible man and wanted to continue dating him, but she knows he’d be more than a casual fling and she’s not sure she can handle him. When the Price Mansion burns down and Alana and Noah are working closely again, their attraction becomes too much for either of them. And this time, Alana won’t settle for the fling - she wants everything from Noah.
This was a pretty solid and enjoyable story. Noah and Alana have some great chemistry and Noah’s emotional unavailability provides some nice angst here. The reunion here could have had a bit more emotional umph, but it was a good one. I think what bugged me more than anything though was Alana’s decision to become a prosecutor instead of a defender because she didn’t want to keep criminals out of jail. But the opposite side of that is that she’ll be putting innocent people into jail...which I think would be worse. If Alana is having moral problems with the justice system, seems she shouldn’t be a lawyer period...That was just a niggling little detail that I couldn’t let go once I’d finished. I do that sometimes. Might not bother anybody else.
Baring it All - Kathleen O’Reilly - 2.5 / 5 - Eric Marshall, of the Marshall family in Pine Crest, was the EMT that pulled saved the woman in the fire at the Price Mansion. When she wakes up with amnesia, Eric can’t walk away from her. At first, he doesn’t recognize her, but soon, he realizes that this woman is a much skinnier Chloe Skidmore, whom he hurt horribly in his misguided teenage years. Determined to make it up to her, he promises to care for her. Chloe doesn’t have all her memory, but she realizes she knows Eric, that they’d been intimate and that he hurt her beyond belief and wants to make him hurt in return. When her memory does return, Chloe realizes what a fool she’s made of herself because she remembers Eric’s actions. But Eric doesn’t want to let Chloe go a second time.
Meh. This one was a weird one I think. Partly, I didn’t warm up to Chloe very much because she’s pretty abrasive. She feels the need to be mean to Eric but doesn’t know why and Eric, knowing he deserves it, takes what she dishes out. This might have worked if it had been longer though too. Because Eric feels remorse and he seems ready to grovel because he claims to have loved Chloe all this time. But when Chloe gets her memory back and rushes off, there’s not enough time for them to work through the hurt and the pain that the moment in the past caused her. So she just forgives him quite suddenly and it feels off. Not to mention it’s pretty ironic that she nearly dies in a fire and then sets fire to some sheets in Noah’s house to send him a message. Oy vey.
A Hot December Night - Candace Havens - 4 / 5 - Assistant Firechief Jason Turner has been lusting after party planner Kristen Lovejoy but has kept his distance because he doesn’t want a relationship. But suddenly, he’s asking her out and they have a date. For Kristen, it turns out to be the worst night of her life - not because of anything Jason does, but because everything goes wrong for her. Jason is perfect….too perfect perhaps? When Jason gets called in for a fire and risks his life to save a family, she discovers the flaw she can’t get past. Jason’s job is too dangerous and she’ll constantly worry. So, after an incredible night together, she tells Jason it’s over. But Jason isn’t going down without a fight. He’ll show Kristen that life is too short to let fear keep you from the ones you love.

2.5 stars. The first two stories are what brought the average down on this book. I really disliked them. The third book was fine and the humor was cute.

I bought this because I am a huge Candace Havens fan. These are 3 loosely connected Miracle on 34th Street type Christmas love stories.
Christmas Kisses by Lori Wilde – Miracles happen when you believe. Grinchy cop Noah Briscoe and defense attorney Alana O’Hara have had one date and parted company. Now they are on opposite sides when Noah has arrested Santa for arson. Sometimes you have to believe in yourself and each other. Can Alana bring the spirit of Christmas to Noah?
Baring It All by Kathleen O'Reilly – Paramedic Eric and Chloe have a past. A past she doesn't remember and that may be all for the good. But out of guilt for that past Eric feels the need to take care of the amnesiac Chloe at least until she remembers who she is married to.

The Wilde and Havens stories were both 4 stars. I felt the connection of Alana and Noah and I was glad Noah found the right someone. Jason was a great guy and Kristen complimented him when she finally let go. Both were nice holiday reads. The O'Reilly story was disappointing. I can't believe these two people loved each other for 12 years. Eric was a jerk when he was a kid, what 16 year old boy isn't. Chloe was an immature idiot. The story (except for the connection of the book)was not sexy at all. Maybe one star for this one novella.

This was a really fun, quick collection of holiday novellas some fun authors. What I really enjoyed about this collection is that each story included a hero in uniform (police, EMT, and firefighter) and they were interconnected stories. They focused on a house fire at a historical home in town; the investigation, the recovery, and the rebuild. I loved how well the three authors blended their voices together and how in such short stories they were able to share some sexy, steamy stories with heart. Fun read and I’ll look forward to enjoying these authors again!

All three stories in this book were good with the first one being the BEST. "Christmas Kisses" by Lori Wilde was the best but of course it was the one that set up the story line for all three stories. All the stories tried into each other. The other two stories are "Baring it All" by Kathleen O'Reilly which is the 2nd story and "A Hot December Night" by Candace Havens finishing it out. Both Kathleen and Candace are new authors for me and I enjoyed their writing enough that I'm going to check out their other books.

I'm not big on anthologies for the series romances. The stories are just too short for me, but I wanted a little more Christmas Blaze so I decided on this book. The stories were sweet, but I found myself reading faster just to get the book finished. I think one of my New Year's Resolutions will be to stay away from anthologies.

This book was pretty much mindless reading. Characters were good. I found it interesting that the stories sort of interlocked; same town setting, several main characters worked in connection with each other (police, EMT, fire). Looking for a book which will hold your attention but doesn't take a lot to follow, this is your book.

I enjoyed this read. I enjoyed the fact that all three authors centered their part around the same incident in this town. I loved the fact that all three enjoyed Christmas. Although 3 seperate stories, they all flowed together. Great job ladies.

This interesting set of three short novels set in a Virginia winter combines crime investigation with Christmas romance as a mansion is burnt down and a woman is found injured inside the ruin. The firefighter, police officer and EMT all benefit from some Christmas romantic magic.

stories were too short a Harlequin Blaze is not the right format to try to pack in three seperate stories. I have to say that two of them were pretty good, but one was just plain bad.

nice holiday romances, good for a quick read. I think the men were a little too similar because all three had a problem with Christmas. I enjoyed them for the most part though.
