The beginning of the volume concludes the duel between Yusei and Luna/Leo while giving us a glimpse into Leo's past. Yusei learns about the duel dragons which if you ask me, was just the writer's way of bringing in the signer dragons. Goodwin, just like in the anime, asks of Yusei's help. Yusei doesn't trust him (like who would?) but agrees to stop the skeleton knight in order to rescue Sect. Kallin and Jack start dueling and their past is also revealed. Both have their duel dragons (Luna and Leo do as well). Yusei gets his after defeating Crow in a very close duel that was probably the best in the series so far. Akiza's not really seen, since her defeat, but I'm sure she'll appear. After all, She and Crow have yet to receive their duel dragons. Overall, the best volume in the series so far.

The good thing in this volume was that all the main characters has some personal reason to battle. Crow wanted his brother to have someone he could look up to during his surgery. Yusei wanted to help "save" his friend.

Sadly, it looked like Yusei was going to turn to darkness while he was winning the duel dragon card. Even Crow thought so.

I'm interested in seeing who wins the D1, even though I'm pretty sure Yusei will.

It’s a very fun book to read for graphic novel lovers. It is very fun to find out what happens in a book. It starts of with the duel between Yusei and Leo, when the duel finishes Yusei gets a message in to his mind about Leo’s childhood and how it was like. The 3rd round of the duel takes place in satellite, Yusei hometown. On the boat Godwin asks Yusei for help to controlling a duel dragon. Yusei faces of with Crow on his first match on the 3rd round. The Battle was AWESOME and it makes you want to flip the page and never stop. Kalin starts a battle with the king Jack atlas. Who will be the King of turbo duelists find out in Yugioh 5D’s

5D's continues to deliver a tight, focused story as the Grand Prix continues and the mystery of the duel dragons is unveiled. Vol. 4. opens up with Yusei's duel against the twins wrapping up. The story then shifts to the second stage of the tournament; to be held on Satellite island. Yusei learns the purpose of the duel dragons and the connection they have to the "shadow miasma" we have been seeing. This lore helps raise the stakes and answers questions. During the new stage we see Yusei and Crow face off in a thrilling duel; as both synchro summon without mercy. Masashi Sato's art in this chapter is terrific. We see some amazing double page spreads and dynamic paneling. Multiple characters also get their duel dragons this volume. The collection ends with Jack taking on Kalin, and we learn the history they share together.

This volume is when 5D's really comes into its own story and character-wise. Each duel the character has genuine motivations which I appreciated and plot threads start coming together. Well worth a read for any Yu-Gi-Oh fan!

I do like that just like in the anime, Yusei had to earn his ace monster stardust. As it feels more special when a protagonist has to earn more powerful cards. I also like that they kept Kalin and Jack shared history and that Crow also has a similar motivation with his anime counterpart being that he does things for younger kids. Also is it just me or does the island they are holding the new round kind of looks like Duel Academy from GX. Also I do like they are better connecting the different series together as the Ancient duels looks like the Ancient Egyptian stuff from DM.
