Indulge your Fantasies Knight after Knight....
In The One Knight Collection Samantha Holt has let her imagination run riot in four sensual tales, ideal to read between the sheets, in which many a reader will find at least one of their fantasies take flight! The lovemaking scenes in this author's books are typically on the hot side but in this collection they positively sizzle. :)
The collection comprises four medieval tales: One Knight; Black Knight; White Knight and Highland Knight, all addressing the theme of, if you had one night to prove your love…could you? If you enjoy sensual tales involving scrummy alpha males that quickly get very up close and personal with the heroines you will definitely enjoy this collection! Those familiar with Samantha Holt's work will lap this up and for other readers it is a great introduction to her work.
In One Knight, bride and bridegroom Katerina and Guy are both uneasy at their wedding feast. Katerina sees Guy as stern and indifferent and wonders why he has elected to marry her. For his part Guy sees his new bride as aloof. Can Guy overcome Katerina’s icy reserve and convince her that he is far from immune to her charms? – you bet he can and the characters and the reader have great fun in finding out how!
In Highland Knight, Anna Mackenzie and warrior Niall Sinclair become betrothed, a union designed to unite two embattled clans. Anna resolves that she will be no easy conquest for her bitter enemy whom she despises and Niall, although attracted to Anna, is used to women falling for his charms. Can they both put their pride aside and find love together? The couple only find resolution when they find themselves in a situation where they can explore and learn about each other more intimately......
In Black Knight, Lady Katherine tells her childhood sweetheart James that she is bored and craves danger and excitement. Upon retiring alone for the night to her chambers it seems that someone has been listening.... as she is apprehended by an unknown assailant, a masterful warrior and seduced in the dark. This was my favourite tale in the collection.
In White Knight, Sara escapes her family’s home in the dead of night to avoid her coming nuptials to a man she does not know and has never met. Almost as soon as she has left the keep she is abducted by an unknown and mounted warrior. Who is this man who is determined to see her to safety, yet equally determined to make her his?
Samantha Holt’s The One Knight Collection is full of alpha males and women who are an exquisite combination of innocence and passion who come together in scenes which entertain, tease and delight the senses. Each couple is as unique as the lovemaking scenes which awaken them to each other and the author is creative in her choice of locations and the methods they employ in their unions! I just love the stories in this collection. I had read One Knight a while back and really enjoyed it. I was excited to receive a copy of this collection from Ms. Holt to review. I did have a little doubt that the rest of the stories would not match up to the first one as many authors go on to slightly change their main romance story lines. However, Ms. Holt kept to the same general plot or story type.
Despite the historical setting, there were no villains, other males or females vying for the H/h's attention, or revengeful mistresses to deal with. The stories were just about the Hero and heroine falling in love. And that is exactly the types of stories I love. I didn't think I would have time to read about 25, 000 words so soon but it took me just a little over 2 hours to finish 3 of the 4 stories. I would probably take others a lot less since I tend to read at a slower pace.
The stories are short but we are given enough details to like the characters and get the feeling that we're reading about more than a single moment. The females were strong and sweet and although only 1 of the four males seemed the Alpha male type, their thinking and sweetness towards the females was perfect.
My favorite one of the four was Highland Knight. In this story, the H and h are going through an arranged marriage to stop any further war between two clans. I love stories where the main characters fall in love after having incorrect, negative opinions of the other. I loved the exchange of words between the two, and the heroine's father's amusement of the her opinion of the Hero.
The the story that I would rank as my fourth favorite was an equally enjoyable read. It came fourth only because of the heroine's openness to a stranger. However, it was as good as the other ones.
I would definitely recommend this book to historical romance fans and fans of short, simple, sweet stories. The wording is just as it should be for the setting. I would love to read other books by Samantha Holt.

Phew! This is hot stuff. I'd already read One Knight so I knew what to expect(ish) but these short stories are sexy, sensual and each one gives you a nice dose of romance and a little touch of history. Holt somehow manages to bring a little bit of the medieval world into each story in spite of their length.
What gets me is the characterisation. So many erotica stories just completely lack any kind of characterisation and it astounds me that in less than 10,000 words, she gives us a feel for each character perfectly. Each has a little back story and their own issues.
My favourite was Highland Knight. Warring clans, an arranged marriage and two people set on hating each other. Loved it and the sex scene was smoking!
That said, this is not hardcore erotica. It is still very much romance with a HEA ending. If you're into more hardcore stuff then this isn't for you but if you like your romance hot and sensual, with guaranteed romance and sizzling chemistry then this is most definitely for you.

This was the first of Samantha Holt i had read and found it completely by accident.
but im glad i did!
I devoured all three novellas in one sitting and thoroughly enjoyed each of them! Did make me want to live in "ye olden times" and be a fair "maiden"!
Each story, though similar (girl meets boy, girl doesnt like boy etc) but each was different and fun to read! I hadn't read any kind of erotica in along time, and i wouldnt class this as majorly erotic. of course there are the sex scenes but theyre written so well, it doesnt make you feel like a dirty old woman in a mac, so to speak!
Really recommend these to be read, short and very sweet, and guaranteed to leave a (naughty) little smile on the face!

I purchased this boxed set because I fell in love after book 1 and to read the rest in the series it was cheaper to buy it this way. I love the way the author writes and found it, for the most part, entertaining. I have done my review for each book individually under each book. They are One Knight, White Knight, Black Knight, and Highland Knight. Now that is the order of the series but in this boxed set the stories follow a different order. It doesn't take from the stories because they are not connected to one another. They are complete stories and my love for the authors work is still intact. Enjoy!!

The One Knight Collection is Literally
One knight with a knight.or Sexy Highlander (swoon) I LOVE HIGHLANDERS STORIES.. 4 short stories Filled to the brim with awesomeness. Each tale is entirely different from the last. But each totally captivated me! I think they each got better as I progressed throughout the book!
If I had to pick a favorite hmmm... Maybe the Black Knight?
I would recommend this to anyone who wanted a steamy, sexy,and quick read.

January 28, 2013I received a copy of this book from the author and I'm so glad that I did. Samantha Holt has a wonderful talent for creating characters that you relate to. In these three sexy and romantic tales we have feisty strong-willed women and handsome knights determined to win the love of their chosen ladies. I couldn't pick a favorite. I loved them all.

Enjoyable. A collection of medieval short stories all tied up in a bow and including some sweet but not erotic love scenes.
