4/5. I really enjoyed this volume for a number of reasons: It has reached the climax of the battle against Team Galactic, the main characters were reunited, the previous 10 Pokedex Holders make a cameo, and one of the fiercest and most mysterious villains of Pokemon Adventures returns! This series won't blow your mind but it's such a fun ride.

Pearl is trying to make his way into Veilstone City, but it's heavily guarded with Galactic grunts. Oh, how will he get in? Enter the D and P unown, who let's face it are the true stars here! They take him through the cave, and all the unown come pouring out and cause all sorts of glorious chaos allowing Pearl to slip into the city and the Galactic Building unnoticed. He gives Chatler Diamond's pokemon and sends him off to find him while he looks around elsewhere in the building.

Chatler finds Diamond trying and failing to blend in with the grunts. May I just say, Chatler is such a smart boy. He knows Diamond and repeats phrases he's heard Pearl say. Love him! Anyway, now with Tru and Kit back he can really kick some butt, and he won't have to wait long because the grunt leader shows up and just straight up tells Diamond where Mesprit, Azelf, and Uxie are and about the red chains. Uh, thanks.

Back tracking a bit, Volkner (ugh, not a fan) comes out to help the girls with Jupiter, but when he realizes he would only be training them, he tries to opt out. Platinum does manage to convince him to stay with her determination though. Oh and lookie there, she could be getting the Beacon Badge out of the deal. So, the change in scenery here was a little jolting for me. They were in the snow and now there's grass all over. I had to turn to the end of the chapter to see where they were. (the Spring Path) Fast forward, Platinum gets trained, wins the badge to complete the set, and separates from Candace and Maylene to dash off to Veilstone City where she walks in on the unown just wailing on all those grunts.

And now the pokedexes are setting off their proximity alarm, alerting the kids that they are very near one another. The grunt leader then gets distracted by Diamond's pokedex and starts obsessively rambling about it. Pearl and Platinum follow the alarm and meet up with Diamond in the room where the lake pokemon are being held. All three kids need to simultaneously press the release button to free them, but the grunt leader is giving them trouble, so they decide to distract him by giving up their pokedexes. It was really bittersweet, but their bonds of friendship will persevere. And then, Mesprit, Azelf, and Uxie fly away in a lovely two page full panel. So. that's that then. Team Galactic defeated.

While all that's happening, Cynthia confronts Cyrus, and her silhouette through the broken wall is so epic. She's really the best character obviously after the unown. Ha! They have an awesome battle ending outside the building with a not quite mastered Draco Meteor from Cynthia's Garchomp. When, the lake pokemon escape, so does Cyrus heading off toward Spear Pillar on Mt. Coronet where he can apparently manufacture a second red chain, and carry on with his plans. Aw, Team Galactic not defeated.

Cynthia finds the kids and they all ride to Spear Pillar as well. Yes, freaking finally we make it to Mt. Coronet!

There, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn fight against the gym leaders minus Volkner because reasons, while Cyrus uses the red chains to force Palkia and Dailga to fight causing timey whimey distortions in the area. The gym leaders snag the win and I just couldn't help but feel glad for Candace and Maylene in their revenge against Jupiter. The gym leaders then band together to break the red chains, but the damage is done and Dialga and Palkia are locked in battle. There's this really menacing scene where Dialga and Palkia are looming enormously over Diamond and Pearl.

And then the volume ends with a brief encounter with Sird. This is the climax, y'all.

Me pasó mayormente desapercibida la acción dentro del tomo por lo confusas que son las batallas, el dibujo y las formas de los Pokémon, mi conflicto mayor es que siento que a comparación con otros arcos, hoy para liberar a los Pokémon legendarios de turno es un gran esquema y un instructivo muy preciso de pasos a seguir, lo cual me causa ruido, sobre todo, la razón por la que se sabe todo esto y la manera de "invocarles".

El dibujo es bueno pero caótico, se dan ciertos momentos épicos donde todos los personajes de capítulos recientes se reúnen a pelear contra la gran amenaza. Siento que no hubo tanto espacio de interacción entre personajes y fue más información que otra cosa pero igualmente me agradaron las piezas de lore que dejaron conocer, además de que los efectos causados por los Pokémon Legendarios me parecen muy acertados y atractivos de ver y descubrir.

Reading this volume really puts into perspective how terrible the events could go if the characters we’re following don’t win.

And it’s a lot more interesting than in the games because of how almost all the gym leaders are getting involved in the big fight to save the world. That may make some panels hard to decipher what’s happening but the main events are still easy to follow and I look forward to see how the Diamond and Pearl saga wraps up in the next volume before delving into the Platinum arc after that.

This book was fantastic. The brief mention of the previous holders was sweet, I really liked that addition.
Diamond, Pearl and Platinum are finally all back together, and it has brought a lot of chaos down on them all.
I loved the meeting of the gym leaders, it was beautiful. I don't like Volkner very much, he's really creepy.

I didn't like this much. The way the characters are just catching Pokemon off-screen feels unsatisfying and I would've preferred them to have done that organically over the last many chapters than rush here at the end of the arc.

The As Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum race to save the legendary Pokemon captured by Team Galaxy in the previous volume, the various gym leaders of the region have realized that Cyrus presents a real threat and unite to try and save the world from Team Galaxy's nefarious plans.

While the volume does bring the three heroes back together, they're not given much to do because this volume is mostly fighting. That said, the art isn't particularly exciting and the combat pictures lack energy. Still, it's the kind of volume you'd expect at this point in the series and it is executed adequately.

Not recommended to adults unless you're asked to by your child.
