Francesca Perry has a deep-rooted dislike of policemen, so when one of her friends introduces her to one of New York’s finest during a chance traffic encounter, she can barely disguise her hostility. But a freak accident soon has her at his mercy, and the gentle manner in which he treats her has her resolve beginning to thaw. Yes, her family has suffered indignities and a devastating loss at the hands of law enforcement…but could it be that all men in blue were bad guys? Suddenly she’s not so sure…
Officer Terrence Gulliver took one look at the slim, curly-haired woman and was instantly captivated. He considered himself lucky that he knew her companion, but Francesca’s—“Cesca” to her friends—barely concealed antagonism tells him he has no advantage. When Cesca is knocked unconscious, he moves to do what he does best…protect and serve. He promptly carries her to his patrol car to get her urgently needed medical attention…and as he holds her in his arms he resolves to charm her into changing her mind…for in her he senses something potentially different…something real.
What a wonderful book! I liked reading the two love stories in this book , and I cant wait to see what happens With Brian and Liv in the next book. Cessa and Terrance story was really good I liked reading how they fell in love and the love scenes are very passionate. I liked the way Terrance persuaded Cessa to give him a chance but I understood her reluctance to date him. My sons have been victims of being profiled by police but as Ms Bettye wrote in this book all cops aren't bad . This is a good love story actually two love stories I loved the way one played put and I can't wait to see what happens with Liv and Brian .
After reading so many books with heavy subject matter, I decided I needed some fluff in my life. This book was a good choice. Except Bettye Griffin stuck me with a cliff-hanger on the last page. It's like waiting for the next season of Scandal. Lucky for me, the next book in the series is already written, and I'll be reading Man of Her Heart.
I thought it focused to much on Liv and Brian. They have their own book coming out and I felt their story could have waited. This should have not been their book. The back of the book didn't even mention them so I wish there was some kind of warning. I skipped all their parts and enjoyed Cesca and Terrence story.
