Whew! I'm so glad I decided to give this series one more shot. This last novella redeemed the whole story for me. Henry will never hold a place in my heart, but he did a lot of groveling, and for the most part, redeemed his character in the end. The fact Elsie finally found her backbone and I end the story with a smile on my face made reading this series worth while. I will definitely be reading more from June Gray (preferably a full length novel next time).

The last installment in June Gray's Disarm series began with me frustrated with the heroine and doubting the hero. I'm glad to report Elsie does have a backbone and it was one of the highlights of this installment to witness it in action. As Henry tries to show his love can be trusted, I found myself softening toward him once again. He's now back on my happy shelf:)

I enjoyed the journey I took with Henry and Elsie. I'm not a fan of serials but Ms. Gray kept me invested until the end. She's a very talented writer and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that her next publication will be a full length novel.

Some of my favorite scenes in this series. I thought I'd put the pictures under spoilers and not fill up your feeds.

As much as I love this series, this by far felt the weakest of them all. I was looking for a little extra something and really special, since it's the last in the series. But unfortunately it didn't happen for me. The storyline felt rush and not as in depth as i would have liked it to be.

3 Estrellas!

A fitting end to the journey for Henry and Elsie.
The story felt a bit rushed to accomplish this HEA but Els made Henry work for it and he was more than up for the challenge.

I think it is well known that I don't "do" trilogies especially trilogies that take forever to be released and by the time you get round to the conclusions "dementia" has overtaken me.

When my eye caught this series and I read the first book I got sucked in to the writing of June Gray but found to my horror that this was not a trilogy but a story in SIX parts! "Big mistake" I thought............but my grumpiness soon turned to happiness when I realized that all 6 books had been released. So this morning I have sat since 7a.m. reading them..........one after the other.

So June Gray what have you done to my heart? It stung, is hurt and my eyes? What is this stuff that came out of them? Tears? Yep that's what your books did to me until I closed the last page of book 6 and sighed.

Elsie Sherman had been in love with Henry Logan forever but to Henry she was like a little sister and when her brother was killed in Afghanistan he steppend into his shoes and protected her.

He was like an overbearing brother, that is, until one night, Elsie stokes the sensual fire that has been lighting between and discovers that the feelings that Henry is harbouring are not "brotherly". Just when the heat is on Elsie finds out that Henry is being deployed to Afghanistan for 6 months and her "sisterly" feelings for Henry combust.

For 6 long months Elsie has waited for Henry to return but your find that the person who left for war is not the same person who returned.

I loved this story and each book just got better to the conclusiion. June Gray has written a well developed story, sometimes it just made my heart sting, sometimes I just wanted to shout at Henry and tell him to waken up and find himself. But sometimes to find out who and what you are you need to let go of the one person you love until you find out what it is you want from yourself.

The 6 stories deal with a number of issues, finding love, letting go, dealing with the aftermath of war, finding a secret. Captured is the last in the series.

My kind of story. June Gray, I am off to find out more about you.

Oh my!! Jezz where to begin. I loved this series. I had misty eyes at the end is all I can say. This story is a series of 6 small books together to make the Disarm Series. It's a total of 697 pages or so. I read it fairly quickly as it just flows so easily and the characters of Henry and Elsie are so easy to like. I love Henry. WOW!! What a man. He is swoon worthy. He needed to do some inner work and nothing else. He was unfailing when it came to his love and how he felt for Elsie.

This book covers just about every emotion I can think. Let see, love, passion, lust, jealousy, anger, fear. The list goes on. I don't want to spoil it for anyone that decides to read it. So, I'll just say that this book has everything that I want in my reads. Characters I can love and their story, enough angst and emotion to draw you in so much that you feel like your're standing right there and it's taking place in front of your eyes!

Henry is a captain in the air force and a gorgeous, sexy man that is tall, dark and handsome.I'll just say that there is plenty of steamy sex in this book. The author does not hold back, gloss over or disappoint. Elsie is beautiful, somewhat plain it seems in the beginning but comes into her own and is a graphic web designer. I liked her and that says a lot as far as female characters go in books. She stands her ground, is her own person and doesn't give up easily. She follows her dreams and knows her heart. She loves Henry to no avail and can not get over him...at all! They are jr high school friends. Henry is her brother's best friend. They crushed on each other from the very beginning.

This book is about their stories coming together, falling apart and maybe just maybe coming together again but you'll to read it to find out!!

"You can never run away from your own truth." Henry

I loved it.

I am having this feeling of deja' vu and I don't know why....I know I haven't read this story.....I decided that I would wait till I finished the entire story before writing anything.

First off, I have to thank June Gray for letting her readers have a glimpse of what military life is for the soldiers and their families. Secondly, I have to thank all of those give up there lives for freedoms we, as Americans, are accustomed too. Because of that I thank you.

Now back to the nitty gritty. Now I am softy for a good love story especially if that story has a man in uniform in it. I am not going to lie that is a weakness of mine. Another this is that what girl doesn't want to have a older brother (if you don't have one) who has a hot best friend she could fall in love with.

Elsie and Henry's love story started when she was 12. It was a love story that started with that simple girl crush on her brother's best friend. Through the years these two have been in and out of each other's lives for many years. They are meant to be together but the seem to be on the roller-coaster ride. I couldn't imagine being in love with someone who has been forced in and out of your life. Honestly, I really don't know if I could deal with that. Deep down I know if I was presented with that situation I would be strong enough to handle it.

Lately, I have been reading a lot of books that have a lot of sex in them, but that is not why I read them. I am a sucker for a love story. Well thats all folks....Happy Reading!!!!

Overall, I enjoyed the whole series though this one seemed to take the easy route in fixing this couple's relationship. We don't see Els and Henry really deal with their issues, rather they just decide to be together.

This review can also be found on my blog.

Henry left for Korea about ten months ago. Elise has finally taken huge strides to her life back on track. She started dating and now has a steady boyfriend who wants her to move in with him. But then out of the blue, Henry calls her. He’s back, and he wants to talk. When they meet, it’s clear that the old Henry is gone. In his place is a more confident man who finally knows where his place is in life, and with whom. Unfortunately for him, it’s beginning to look like the Elise ship has sailed. He’ll have to rely on the deeper feelings they’ve always shared for one another from childhood into adulthood, and he’ll have to work extra hard to win back her trust and her love. When he lays everything on the line, will he finally get what he always knew he needed?

It’s almost like a role reversal with this last installment. Henry is the confident one, and Elise is now plagued with insecurities and fear. Fear that he’ll stomp all over her feelings again if she decides to let him back in. Even more frightening is the prospect that he could just up and leave her all over again. He has three dates to try and win her over, or about a week. During that week, he has a surprising revelation about Jason to share with her. That surprise alone fills some of the cracks in her heart. Some things that needed to be said are finally hashed out. But when she receives an offer of a life time, she will have to choose between the man she has always loved and taking her turn to chase her dreams.

While the build up to their HEA has been a long time coming, I felt that it was a little rushed, and that Henry may have taken a little to much time to try and find himself while being overseas. I think Elise made the right decision, and I liked how the author made both sides understand what was the right thing to do. Head versus heart. Was it tied up too neatly, yes. However, I do believe a love like theirs was simply meant to be. As cheesy as it sounds, I do feel that fate meant for them to be together. It was all a matter of timing. At least in the end, they both knew how the other must have felt at their lowest points. I was relieved when this story ended, but I think some areas could have been drawn out a little bit more.

If you listen you can hear it, Drum roll please!

My final thoughts on this fantastic series, It's hard to put into words sometimes what a story does to you. I think from the first book I was hooked because of the names of the characters--Henry and Elsie are my grandparent's names on my father's side. I never really knew my grandparents but I like to think if they had a love story it would go like this...

Henry and Elsie met when they are young as neighbors and grow up together as Henry and Elsie's brother Jason meet and become best friends and later on go into the military together. What happens is the classic boy/girl next door crush but then it turns serious when the real thing comes along--LOVE!

With that LOVE comes all the things that can make or break it. Elsie's brother Jason is killed while on a mission and that starts the chain of event's that lead to Henry and Elsie letting their feelings become real. Which in turn sends Henry into a tail spin. His best friend is gone and there is Elsie who at first takes his place in a sense but then once feelings surface--this very passionate loving relationship begins and Henry starts to question who he is and what he might of been, it starts this huge ball of discontent to know himself. While not wanting to hurt Elsie, he does, breaking up with her. I thought I was never going to finish Capture at first I kept going slow on purpose because I was scared that I would not like the ending, crying and holding my breath I finished it because I had to know. It was heart breaking at times when you hear Henry tell Elsie he loves her but to go away and leave him alone. Elsie's anger and pain is raw and then there is her current boyfriend who has asked her to move in. Will she do it or will Henry and Elsie fight for their love?! I thought the Henry Sessions part was the deepest part of this story, getting to hear Henry tell his secrets and all the things he questions about himself, his life...

There are a few surprises along the way as you hang on by a thread wondering. Amazing story!

Overall I would give the series 4 stars! This final book was a great conclusion to the story of Elsie and Henry! And I'm so thankful that they found each other in the end. I'm also glad that I read these all at once--I don't think I would have enjoyed the story near as much as individual novellas. I also didn't think the sex scene we were super hot. Some yes, but most were not descriptive enough for this to be considered erotica. Mature adult--contemporary yes. Overall I did enjoy the story as a whole and the authors writing style. Hopefully her next book will be a full length novel. :)

Well I have to start by saying thank you to June Gray for writing a brilliant series. It captured me right from book 1 all the way to the end. I really couldn't put my kobo down and finished the entire series in less than a day (I must apologize to my kids and hubby for ignoring them while I read this!). It's not often I get that involved in a book and in the characters that this happens so you bet I'll be keeping track of June's other books and reading those also! Finding West here I come :-) keep up the great work June!! I fell in love with Elsie & Henry and am so happy with how they made it to the end together...

I've really enjoyed reading this mini series.
Not going to lie, I wish it was one book instead of having to wait for the next installment to be released. It took away a little of the excitement of seeing what will happen next, I'm not a very patient person :)
Having said that I did enjoy them and I'm happy that Elsie and Henry found their Happily Ever After.
I'm rating Capture 3.5 stars but as Goodreads doesn't allow for the .5 I'm giving it 4.
Thank you June Gray for writing and sharing your story with us.

To be fair this 6 parter is the first of the type that I've read that has definite breaks to it. (not just stopping at the end of chapters to make more out of us)

They're at the right points in the story so for instance reading The Henry Sessions it was a book in it's own right.

I can just about give 4 stars across the board for the Disarm series (3.75 really) .25 was the HEA!

Okay this was my favorite book in the series...it made you feel so many different emotions for both characters. I was so happy with the ending of this book, I am a stickler for happy endings. Not to mention little Will, I was ecstatic that Jason lives on within Will...and him being the best man in place for his dad's best friend was a teary moment.
I am so happy I decided to stick through and read the rest of the series...

Ahh!!! I don't know what to say! I absolutely adore this series! This must be the best series ever! I can't describe how much I felt for these short 6 books. Lots of emotions and problems were involved between Henry and Elsie. Yet they could still be together and got their well-deserved happily ever after.

I really am looking forward to more books from June Gray. Such a fantastic author that creates a fabulous story. I want more!!!

I literally spent all day Sunday reading this book, it was just too good to put down and then spent most of the morning talking about it to my friend who recommended the book. This is definitely a must read. I brought the first two books/downloads before realizing I could buy the boxed set. It was so good I'll be reading it again.

5 stars for the series. I loved it. Although I didn't like certain events that occurred but I realised this series shows the reality that could happens in a relationship . The story felt very true and real unlike most romance relationships displayed in other novels . This book doesn't display any sort of made-up-only-occurring-in-books romance, its reality.
