Little red goes on a picnic with her friends and when they hear a weird sound they discover a rabbit stuck in a pond and they help him out.

This story was ok but kinda all over the place.

This is a cute little adventure story about Little Red, her friend Little Blue (a boy), and their pony and doggie as they go on a picnic in the countryside. Little Red is very brave when she hears some frightening sounds from the Lily Pond and, thinking someone might be in trouble, she goes to help. Of course, it's nothing very frightening and they all have a happy picnic (with some new friends) in the end.

The storytelling isn't great, but it's not bad, either. It's a bit rambly, but sweet. And it feels like you are just plopped right down in the middle of an ongoing series (though this is the first book in the series), which has a bit of charm as you feel that the characters are already great friends and you want to know more but is also rather frustrating. The illustrations are adorable, though, and all in all I enjoyed this though I won't be avidly seeking out the others.

I didn't like Little Red's Christmas Story primarily due to the poor character introductions (but also because of it's poor plot) - so I decided to give the original a go.

Well the character introductions are better (as would be expected for the original book in a series).

The plot in this story is no improvement on the Christmas Story, and the illustrations are on a par.

Lovely book, I felt that I was in english pastures and cottages. It entailed Little Red, a girl. Her day at an eventful picnic. My 8yr old granddaughter was most interested that this was written by a Queen. I had to break it to hear and tell her she was just a Duchess.

I loved the photos, but the story was a wee bit lacking. In the end, I enjoyed it very much, and will read it to my great niece.
