*This is an erotic, romantic book. It contains sexy vampires, graphic language, adult content and situations that aren't for the faint of heart. Consider yourself warned.*

this story has been plagiarized on a fanfiction TRUE BLOOD the link of this story is here http://ficlit78.wordpress.com/pretty-... This author is a THIEF!!!!!!!!!!!!
As Stefan and Josie's love continues to grow so does this story as the plot thickens with new twists and dangers surfacing within the council and the past and the future begin to meld together with the entrance of new characters, with their own past stories yet to unfold, along with Josie's ever developing abilities. As always, I'm left waiting with abaited breath for the next installment from this series in wonderment of where this ride is going takes us next. Alexandra Anthony really brings the reader into the world of paranormal erotica and captures you to where you wish for no release. Love this series.
A wonderful Paranormal Historical Romance. I enjoyed reading this great book which is situated in the 1860's during the time of the war. Ty and Sonja are both new to the life of Werewolves. They are learning the extent of their powers and how to control them. They are making their way to Texas with family, friends and strangers. They are being pursued by vampires dedicated to their destruction. A great read. I enjoyed it immensely!
From start to finish this book will keep you on the edge of your seat! The bond between Josephine and Stephan is incredible and unbreakable. Not to mention how much Jose has grown since the first book in her powers among other things. If you love vampire erotic romance novels this series needs to move to the top of your list!
I love this series, and now I have to wait for the next one, cliffhangers suck! It is like the anticipation I had with who shot J.R, lol Not only r books great but the author is awesome she is on FB and really loves to hear from her readers. I look forward to anything she writes.
The tale that began in The Lady in the Mist around Tyler Loflin and Sonja Brooks continues. Waking Up Dead is the second installment of the Western Werewolves series by Catherine Wolffe. Just as I did with book 1, I again find myself feeling uncertain as to my overall connection with this one.
I was glad to have moments where a little more history regarding the werewolf theory in this tale came up, yet it seemed not enough for me. The same with the vampire history in regards to THIS tale. I am struggling with the hows and whys, which is making the story lack a sense of realism for me. There are moments when the flow is great, then it suddenly stops. I am not sure how to explain it really. I found in this book that there was a little too much repetition regarding past events Sonja and Tyler had been through. I would have preferred to see more of current dilemmas or future plans. There is much broad alluding to things, but no set "this is what we see and what needs to be avoided". Where I am usually a fan of romance or foreplay scenes in a book, in this one there were more "wishful thinking" and daydreaming moments than seemed necessary. This is just me though.
What threw me most was how quickly some of the "action" scenes progressed. A LOT of things happened in very short spans of time, to the point of asking "what just happened?" I like a little surprise and whatnot in a story, but some of what goes on in this one is jumpy and sketchy. If it was a movie, it would be strobe light still shots. That is how I felt with it. As with the first book, this e-book also has some writing issues. Names are used wrong in places, mis-spellings, etc. The author may want to consider edit revisions, it could help the flow of the book.
Again this is only my impression, other readers may not see what I have. I AM still intrigued with the general tale, curious to see where the author is going with it. Even though I am having some trouble following her, I DO want to continue the series.
Alexandra has done it again! Another nail biter in the wonderful Stephan and Josephine story. The characters will capture you. Several of the secondary characters have found their way into my heart and I am I am looking forward to Destiny, the next book in the series. I find that the characters linger on in my mind long after I have finished reading as I speculate what if anything awaits them next.
Sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the fourth book now. Hoping for a fast release on it. Love Josie and Stefan. Laughing like crazing at Lukas and Anna from the get go. And can't wait to see what's goes on with Nik. Which is running a close second to Stefan in the sexy category. This series has a great story line with just the right amount on sex appeal. Great job.
Book 4, I need you! This is one of my favorite series! I can not get enough Josie and Stefan.. Not to mention Lukas, Anna, or Nikolaus.... Alexandra has hit the jack pot with this series. I hope there are many more to come.
Alexandra has done it again !! i would for sure recommend this book to all my friends! I could not put it down..A smash hit for sure !! Thank you for sharing Stefan & Josie love story ! cant wait for the next book in the series
Love this woman's writing! I need to pace myself with her books cause I will just read until my eyes won't stay open. They really are too good to put down. Stefan and Josie's love story is just so wonderfully deep and the supporting characters are great. Can't wait for more!
Another lesson learned for these mates. I hope they get to a safe heaven soon. So they can start building the wolf army they are ment to be working on.
Please tell me Sonja's husbent is dead this time. That guy really creped me out.
I can't believe I have never written a review for this book. I have read it two or three times. I absolutely love this series. I enjoy it more and more each time I read it.
This book is full of so many moments that are more romantic to me then erotic, I loved this book, these books get better and better as they go. This book starts off where the other one stopped and it is difficult seeing how the whole situation with Derek and Anna has affected Stefan. My heart broke when Stefan told Josie about bonding them indefinitely and how she reacted to this at first. The part about her editor was strange because I don't remember any mention of her being a writer since the first book, I forgot all about it, the one think I did like that came from this was how hot Stefan is when he is jealous. I have to say I was surprised at how emotional I got when Anna came around, I was so fearful of what this would mean for Stefan and Josie's relationship. Josie's reaction to how Stefan treated Anna was similar to my reaction and it broke by heart, I would have felt the exact same way if I was her. Here she wanted him to save her but never knew that she would have to share part of him with her too. I am wondering what in the world is going on with Georgia, she is acting weird, will we find out later? I loved how romantic Stefan is, taking her up to the roof, wanting to marry her in a human ceremony, my heart dropped with her answer, but I have to say I was thrilled that Lukas stepped up and put her in her place and then she saw what she was doing and realized where she had made the mistake and then made it right. It was so great that the author had Josie meet someone in her dreams (don't want to spoil)that could make things clearer for her different times in this book. I really like how the author introduces us to new and exciting characters, this time we met Amir and of course I was thrilled when Stefan connected him to Lukas. I was happy that Sofia was put in her place when she was disrespecting Stefan. The showdown between Josie and her father was exciting but I worried because it felt like she was telling him all of their secrets and I thought they wanted to wait and catch him by surprise so I was angry at the same time reading this as I was excited. I did love how the author has Josie being so powerful, it makes it feel like she is becoming more equal to Stefan but in a different way. After this confrontation, man how the author described Stefan's anger and then him showing this through his want for her sexually was so hot, I loved when he said to her "You are not going to stop me now? Suddenly you are anxious for me to control you" Then later he says to her, "You are completely frustrating and addictive. I merely existed before you." I have to say the last chapter was so hard to read, I swear how Alexandra wrote this I could feel Josie's pain, it was so heartbreaking. The way she shows how this bond between Josie and Stefan really is, wow now it is clear that one cannot be without the other. Then how she took care of him and how tender these moments were, I loved it and then the ending, really Alexandra could you make my heart ache any more? I cannot wait until I get my hands on the next book, am starting it right away.
I really like this series. I think part of it is the setting being during the Civil War. Also the vampires are the bad guys in this so that is also a little change up from other books.
Let me start with the villain first. It is revealed at the end of the story just who is behind the vampire attacks in this story. I was very surprised and was not expecting it to be who it was. Not spoiling it for you though! I did like that the vampires were hard to kill. It just made it seem more authentic to me because they are already dead and shouldn’t be easily killed in a fight with a werewolf.
There wasn’t quite as much romance and sex in this story as there was in the first one because of the circumstances present in the story but there was still enough. I like that they had General Jeb Stewart back in this story as well as Sonja’s sister was also in it a lot more.
I did have some problems with this story at times though. It seemed like it jumped around a little bit and it made me get confused and had to re-read it in a couple spots. Also I thought that Sonja was more cross with Ty more often than what she needed however I also know she was frustrated but it made me want to shake her at times. She was determined to show that she could do everything that Ty could do and refused to ask for help.
Even though it still had a couple things that confused me I feel it still deserves a four star review because I feel the plot itself was even better that the last book and that action and adventure was also better. I will continue to read this series. I like where it is going.
*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review.*
Can you give less than 1 star? I enjoyed the first book in the series so much and I was hoping (stupid me) that the second book would be just as good. I shouldn't write this review while I'm angry, but if you want my honesty without the sugar coating, then read on. What a piece of crap! The story was extremely hard to follow. There were only a few flashbacks, but even then I felt like I was reading an entirely different book. The inner dialogue did not follow the storyline, the grammar (don't even get me started - more on that in a minute) was HIDEOUS, the characters that I adored in the first book felt like strangers, there was no continuity from the first story whatsoever, the back story was beat to you know what, and oh, for a happy in love kind of couple, a kiss goodnight would have been nice. Oh, and Miss Lady Author, the bad guy's name is Robert, NOT RICHARD!!
Seriously, I asked myself a number of times why I was reading this book. Let's talk about the grammar, shall we? We've all seen that sometimes the grammar is less than ideal (was that sugar coated enough?). In this book, sometimes the entire sentence didn't make any sense! Children who have only the basic grammar lessons could have done better. I have to ask myself if this book was written by the same author was the first book. Honestly, it was awful. Moving it to my "And we're done here" shelf.
I really liked this book and now all thats left is the final book in the series which i am so beyond ready for. I read this one in the matter of 3 hours. I couldn't put it down no matter how hard i tried. For a free read it was definitely worth the wait un receiving it. There were a few grammar mistakes that threw my flow of reading off, but i'm not gonna hold it against anyone.
I love that Anna is a vampire now! Her and lukas are so funny and make wonderful friends. The love Jose and Stefan share is so sweet. I hate the part of the book where he ask her to marry her and she refuses at first. In books there are suppose to be subtle character development. Here there is some with the main Character Jose, but that back track there annoyed me. It's been 2 and half books of him confessing his love to her and she slaps him in the face like that. That was the only aggravation I had through out the book. Still lots of sex!
I could barely wait for this 3rd book. Josie and Stefan were meant to be mates.... but What Is She? That is what we are trying to discover. We know she's human and vampire hybrid but what else?? The questions are almost answered.... Her father is the biggest ******* there is and she wants no part of him or his evil ways. Stefan is her Vampire soul mate, to put it mildly. Their love is intense, REALLY INTENSE. But it is also beautiful, while he is a 1000 year old vampire with unbelievable strength, he is also incredibly tender. If you love reading about Vampires but would like a more "adult" version... HERE IT IS!!!! This Erotica is steaming hot while not being crass or cheesy. The story line is amazing and you could almost believe it's real. I think I actually yelled "no" when I got to the last page..... I wanted MORE, MORE, MORE!!!!
Waking Up Dead is the continuation of 'The Western Werewolf Legend' series. The truth, Sonja Brooks understands is relevant. She's a werewolf with a special 'gift' and faces danger at every turn. Now, the bloodsuckers stalk her family and the man she loves.
Tyler Loflin vowed to protect his men despite the cost. He must save them and Sonja from the threat of Yankee vampires. Seeking help from one of them will test his faith in the human he once knew and his own strength as a newly born werewolf.
Escaping to a better place, Ty and Sonja set out for Texas, but will the freedom and safety they seek elude them?
Things keep getting worse, but the bonds keep getting stronger
New horrors uncovered, an old fling coming into the picture, and a family member trying 2 guide the way? What will all this mean for Josey and Stefan? An explosion, veiled and not so veiled thread threats, a new luv that's blossoming, an old fling rekindling, and a scare that may destroy Josey.
I spent all night reading this installment of the series, ands can't wait 2 see what happens next. If u haven't started this series, u should start it now. Don't wait!
This is the 3rd book in this series. I enjoyed the first and second so much I did re-reaed them, plus it had been a while since I read them so I wanted to get caught back up on all the love and action. These books to me were well written, the character's are explained in detail so you can actual picture them in your mind like a movie. I hope if you take the time to read these three books you'll enjoy them as much as I did!
It's tough jumping into a series starting with book 2...but this one seemed especially difficult. It was like you jumped into the series mid chapter and there was no way to go back and re read what you missed. Werewolves, Vampires (that are also Yankees apparently), witches and whatever...I couldn't get through the first chapter because I could make no sense of what was going on.
I have just finished reading all three books in this series and I'm eagerly awaiting the release of book 4. Stephan and Josie's love for each other just pulls you in. I was like an addict reading this series. I couldnt put it down intil i read the last word. I will definitely be reading this again. I highly recommend this book and the prequels to it.
While there actually is a good story line hidden under the overly repetitive descriptions and countless editing errors, this installment of the Vampire Destiny books really left me cold. I'm not even sure that I'll be back for the next, but I am curious as to what Josie's underlying nature really is.
I have to say that I think as of right now, this is my favorite book in the series. With each book Ms. Anthony really has you believing that her characters are living, breathing vampires! Each book leaves you on the edge of your seat until the next book comes out. I am addicted! If you haven't picked up this series yet I suggest you do!
This series just gets better! I love that the story picks up right where the last one stopped. It was wonderful to get to know Sonja's sister, Brinna and how she and a vampire are falling in love. I also enjoyed the way Ty kept building the sexual tension between he and Sonja. They are a wonderful and fun loving couple. I can't wait to read the next book!!
