My boyfriend claimed that this volume was less ecchi. I disagree. I HELLA disagree. There is one scene in which two characters are fighting (dueling??) by striping their clothes off...not to mention the hot springs scene.
The plot for this one was mediocre. A little disappointed the chapter about the "forbidden room" wasn't all that spooky. That said, I'm still enjoying the gender swapping shenanigans. Things are getting more queer with the additional characters in the know.
I really enjoyed the second volume of this manga! It's very funny. I'll definitely watch more of the anime and maybe read more of the manga (depends if my friend has more volumes). Though the manga has more subplots but I don't think that that will make the anime less enjoyable.
This volume had some moments that genuinly made me laugh out loud!
The body swapping is in frenzy, more people are discovering it, so there's a lot of drama and antics, and the school council is shady. but I'm wondering, when will the "seven witches" in the title appear?
Even though it's been more than a year since I've read this manga series, I actually was able to hop into this volume with no problems at all. Of course, I did have to briefly skim all of the first volume, but I like how this series is really easy to pop in and out of. At least, it will be for now.
At this point, Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches is still very much part body-swapping high-jinks, part horny teenage comedy (just the amount of fanservice in this volume accounts for the OT and 16+ rating on the back), and part surprisingly tender reflection of the identity of teenagers. Granted, every time a girl (or Yamada in a girl's body, as in the case here pretty much all the time) gets groped, I get uncomfortable even though I get it's supposed to make me laugh, but that's going to be a recurring element of this series that I'm just going to have to get used to.
Regardless, I'm having a lot of fun with this still, and I find myself smiling and laughing at a lot of pages. Yoshikawa is great at drawing all the shocked expressions for her characters (yelling with very obvious spittle flying) and I really like how distinct the designs are for her boys and girls and how when they're in each other's bodies makes for the absolute best thing ever. Their actions are so over the top and ridiculous because the guys think that's how the girls act and the girls are just being themselves in the guy's bodies (Shiraishi reading a book in Yamada's body always gets me). Besides the body-swapping stuff, though, the manga series also has some sweet moments. It makes for a well-balanced series that works well.
I'm looking forward to seeing what Nene's going to throw at the series next volume because we haven't reached the Witches part of the plot yet, and the Yamada and Shiraishi dynamic was oddly lacking this volume even though it's one of my favorite parts. They're just so awkward and adorable together.
(the scene from the manga does not end in a fall but is actually a Shiraishi directed one with a tapping on the shoulder; still, they adapted the choreography nicely)
Although I actually do like the Yamada and Miyamura stuff as well. I find it very odd that Miyamura only really seems to put the moves on a girl when Yamada's in their body, and while I'm pretty sure the manga is trying to make it seem that that's the excuse Miyamura is using to actually be pervy with girls, I have this suspicious feeling that Miyamura may just actually have feelings for Yamada and is also a big fan of the ladies at the same time. My current headcanon is that Miyamura's bisexual. Judging from one of the lines in the final chapter of this manga (which ended last month), I'm going to be keeping with that.
I know I'm going from first names to last names here. My bad. It'll be easier this way because that's how everyone is primarily referred.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
When I first saw the anime adaptation of this series, I know I'm going to read its manga soon. And the time has come, haha.
It's pretty obvious that I love the anime, and my! I couldn't be happier because I love the manga as well. The drawing were so good and those facial expressions were hilarious!
I also love the story line, I know witches idea can be cliche, but I love how the author made this story different. Why it was different? You've got to find it out for yourselves ;)
It was doing pretty good actually until after the part of the first ceremony. I think they just added a twist to it to make it longer and I'm not specially a fan of those lots of memory lost moments. But oh well, the author redeem herself because of that very cute HEA! What more could you wish for eh?
It has a really good pace to it and unlike other comedies, I did not find this to be predictable with very asinine humour. Everything that is done is done within character, and actions often have more than one meaning to them, that isn't revealed to Yamada at first because in all honesty, he's a bit of an idiot, but all of his actions are internally consistent within himself. I can't wait for the third book!
Probably a 3.75 star book. Not quite as good as the first, but still interesting. There is significantly more fan service in this book and it truly is only there as fan service in this book. We pick up a few more significant characters to our cast and it is their interactions which drive this volume. The big goal, to get a budget for the Club. Of course in the process of doing that the reader finds out there is a lot more going on here than that.
What did I read??? This volume was a bit worse than the first one besides the archery club chapter but then again they end the whole plot point in this volume so I’m guessing we won’t see much of the archery president. The kissing is getting overplayed and I’m scared that they’ll overdo it too much where it gets stale and boring

Still has some boys will be boys behavior and some chikan behavior but I am really enjoying it. It makes me laugh and I really like the art. All the characters look different are very easy to tell apart. The plot seems to be moving along well. I like both Yamada and Urara Shiraishi so much. I am really enjoying this manga.
There were more chapters in this volume than in volume one as well as more dense blocks of kanji filled dialogue so it took longer to read this volume. I still managed to follow along with the story but I admit that there were whole passages where I didn't know what was going on.
I'm laughing my ass off. Miyamura just keeps kissing Yamada like it's not a big deal. I'm getting a vibe his bisexual. He keeps harassing Yamada and also Urara chan
Lol there is so much fan service and all the dudes except maybe Yamada suck. But this is so ridiculous and entertaining. I'm enjoying it. It's made me laugh out loud a few times.
