A brilliant researcher, Sofia must unravel the ancient puzzle of the Clockwork Warrior or her career will be in tatters. Yet the tomb of the warrior is in the dangerous city of Byzantium, inside the harem of the Emperor. She knew she'd have to pose as a slave--but not that her “owner” would be the incredibly bossy, gorgeous bodyguard she's been assigned.

A life of military duty has left Dankyo unprepared for Sophia. He's never met a woman quite like this. She's smart and beautiful, and she's something that he's finding almost irresistible--despite the way she fights against masquerading as his slave, she's submissive right down to the bottom of her soul. And that's bringing out every dominant instinct in his body.

But even as he realizes she's captured his heart, the city explodes into madness. Surviving seems impossible. Can love and a Dom who will never give up overcome sheer bloody-minded evil?

I'm going to appreciate this series for it's innovative tales and perfect blending of genres. Love the concept, the use of clockwork machinery and the world build. This story features Dankyo, the head security guard and second-in-command to Theo Kevonis (we met Theo in Iron Dominance). Here he is assigned to protect Sophia, a scholar. Dankyo and Sophia are on a mission. Dankyo is to guard her while she figures out puzzles and information. To accomplish their mission they need to pretend-play Master and Slave which swiftly turns into an arrangement that fulfills their secret fantasies.

What Dankyo or Sophia doesn't realise is that they were puppets used by Emperor-Bey and Xiang - the mastermind behind the assassination and the assassin. While Emperor-Bey wants to defeat his enemies, Xiang has a past with Dankyo and she wants revenge. The plot was deadly and calculated.

Dankyo was so controlling of Sophia. He needs to dominate and wants submission. Sophia is strong-willed but when it comes to Dankyo's commands she willingly submits who fulfills her dark and forbidden desires. This book includes bondage, BDSM scenes, spanking, mff, ff.

The final entry in this trilogy brings back some favorite characters from the previous 2 books. This plot has a lot more intrigue and double-dealing. It also has a good amount of enjoyable sex scenes, perhaps less painful than the previous books, but just as intense. Also nice, the heroine is not military, just crazy clever.

The ending reinforces the HEA for all 3 couples, which is sweet, but of course there will be spankings.

This trilogy has been one of the most fascinating BDSM series that I have come across. Shying away from the BDSM-club trope, Cari Silverwood blends BDSM with Steam-Punk in an erotic suspense novel that blew me away. None of these books are easy reads; they are complicated, innovative tales that are unlike anything that I have read in the erotic genre.

The world building within this trilogy is the most complicated thing to get your head around as a reader. It is set in a world where clockwork machinery is used to make most everyday of objects (and some not so every day in the shape of a clockwork crocodile!). It is this that makes the world strange, a little bit different, but at the heart of it, as with the others in this series, this is a very sexy love story. Although this is a series, I would say that you only actually need to read the first in the series to be able to read this one. I don’t believe that it works as a standalone, as it is far too complicated, but the second in the series feels very different to both this and the first. In this, our hero and heroine are searching for the truth about an ancient artefact during a period where this very action puts them in perilous danger.

I loved the concept. Sophia, an intelligent woman who was put into position because of her inate ability to solve puzzles, was to be smuggled into the country of Byzantium disguised as the sex slave of Dankyo, a warrior who serves as her protector. I loved Danyko in the first book and he didn’t disappoint in this one! He was introduced to Dominance through the events of book one (which I highly recommend), knows he wants someone to Top but hasn’t found that special someone. Of course, then he sees Sophia in her see though harem outfit and his little brain starts thinking for him. I loved seeing him straddle the line between fantasy and reality. He had to pretend to be her master but he wanted the role for real and he did struggle to reel himself in so she wouldn’t run a mile. He was just so fricking dreamy. When she finally admitted that she wanted him as much as he wanted her he blossomed as a character. He transformed from a slightly smug, playful man who completely owned his sexuality to a Dom who could completely own her sexuality without suppressing her character. The things that man could do with some rope....*swoon*.

Cari Silverwood writes awesome female characters. They are completely sexually submissive but ultimately they are quite feisty women. The lead role in the plot to find the clockwork warrior wasn’t Dankyo’s; it was Sophia’s. She was a woman who was willing to do whatever she had to to get to that statue. She was willing to be someone’s slave, be made to crawl on her hands and knees and be brought to orgasm in a room full of strangers. As long as it got the job done, she was happy to do it. She was also a woman who could admit to her sexuality. Dankyo forcing her to submit, being watched, being spanked; these were all things that she wanted to do. This strength of character is seen throughout the book not least in the scenes where someone makes attempts on her life. I just really enjoyed her character!

There is A LOT of sex in this book. From the scene where Danyko has to take her to the orgy at the beginning of the tale (which is sinfully hot) right through to some MFM and FF action, there really is something for every taste. I think the scene where Sophia first independently submits to Danyko is my favourite but the mechanical vibrator scene is one to look out for too! This is a BDSM book at heart; there is spanking with hands and belts, anal play, FF action, ménage action, restraints, sex-toy play, some lovely water scenes and some fantasy play. I loved it.

This book is a great addition to the series. A BDSM book with a fantastic amount of world building, its unique Steampunk twist has made it a series that will remain on my keeper shelf. With a dreamy Dom acting as the Master to a very willing slave, this is a book that cranks up the heat with every single page turn. I recommend that you read it with a very cold drink .....

Well, Cari Silverwood has done it again. This time in the Steampunk, BDSM genre and again she brings us on wild and erotic ride. But, I have come to expect nothing less from her except perfection, hot and steamy sex scenes and a wild story. She brings you to a future that is written with such clarity that you aren’t imagining it, but living it.

Dankyo – even the name brings forth power and dominance. Aligned with House Kevonis and atruegemawardassigned to protect Sophia while she is figuring out the puzzle of the Clockwork Warrior in Byzantium, Dankyo cannot help but wonder what will happen when she finds out she is to be his slave while visiting the Emperor-Bey Constantin. And, why him? Why was he requested to complete this mission by Hellene Nation. No matter what, he will protect Sophia and will not allow any harm to come to her. He failed one woman and will not allow another to suffer.

Sophia White studied at University and wrote her thesis on the Clockwork Warrior. Now, her chance to see it in person and figure out the puzzle that has been plaguing her for years. She has no idea what mystery the Warrior holds but is determined to find out. Now, Dankyo – she must pose has his slave while in Byzantium. How will she handle this, how will he treat her, is she expected to be his slave even when not out in public? So many questions, so many puzzles. She has no choice but to go along with this plan or she risks her life. Donning her slave outfit and the black, leather collar, Sophia ventures into a world that will turn her life upside down, make her believe in love and fulfill her wildest and erotic dreams. See, she’s always dreamed of being held captive and raped She never thought that she would meet a man that could fulfill those desires without it being rape. Dankyo ….

What neither Dankyo or Sophia realize is that this is all a plan of the Emperor-Bey and Xiang, his head assassin. The Emperor-Bey thinks that solving the puzzle of the Clockwork Warrior will allow him to defeat all of his enemies. Xiang just wants revenge on Dankyo – the man that left her to die in a snowy wilderness. The woman he couldn’t save after promising not to leave her side. What they have planned is both intriguing and deadly and their plans all depend on Sophia solving the puzzle. What they don’t expect is that all the best-laid plan can go hay-wire.

Again, Cari Silverwood brings us to a time where machines rule – can be deadly or can be your best friend. I adored Zig-Zag and he plays a major role in bringing the Emperor-Bey down. And, what can you say about Ms. Silverwood’s BDSM scenes? She brings us wild and erotic scenes, with bondage by clockworks, bondage by rope and a F/F/M scene that will have you squirming in your seat. You fall in love with Dankyo from the minute he starts controlling Sophia and bringing her Submission to light. She craves it hard and rough and does whatever she can to make sure that he gives it to her that way. He craves the dominance and control and is more than happy to give Sophia what she needs. The first time Dankyo takes Sophia is a raw and rough scene, it is played out in front of an audience so that they believe that she is his slave. Her submission is sublime and his dominance is calculating and controlled. The uber Dom that will bring you to your knees.

If you have never read Steampunk before, please pick up the first two books of the Steamwork Chronicles – Iron Dominance and Lust Plague. These books set up the story of Dankyo and Sophia and you will not be disappointed. We visit with Theo and Claire and Sten and Kaysana in Steal Dominance – another factor that I love about Cari Silverwoods wonderful stories … she doesn’t let you forget about how it all started and what wonderful HEA’s they all have.

Sophia White, a master cryptologist, is brought in to Byzantium to solve the puzzle of the Clockwork Warrior. Having studied the specifics of this for years she's excited to finally have a chance to do what no one else has ever been able to. Having to put up with Dayko, House of Kevonis, as her security guard is a minor inconvenience until it's explained to her that the only way to get to the Clockwork Warrior is to pose as his slave. As if.

Dayko's skills as a security specialist are legendary so having to babysit a female as she works on a puzzle is not only insulting but a waste of his skills. But things aren't all that they seem as Emperor Bey Contantintin XXV is more than accommodating to Sophia with the goal of solving the Clockwork Puzzle.

In this the third installment in the 'Steamwork Chronicles' old friends and new enemies make this an adventure in steampunk that you won't soon forget. For any fan of steampunk Cari Silverwood is probably at the top of your list. With this book she remains there as she works the steam based world and BDSM erotic action in a way that few other authors can.

The central characters are deeply developed and it didn't take me long to see them as more than fictional book characters. They come alive as they go through the gauntlet of being forced into a situation not of their own making and develop a lust response that won't be ignored. Danko is an alpha Dom who keeps Sophia (and me) in a constant state of sexual tension and arousal until he finally decides to take her as his sub. The resulting scenes deserve "may be too hot to handle" warnings for the reader. They're in depth, graphic, and border the moderate/extreme play level (in my opinion).

As to the premise/plot. This is the third book in this series so a baseline knowledge of the previous installments is recommended. The actual storyline is a standalone though, so if you haven't read any of the previous but do understand steampunk you will definitely be able to enjoy this one just without the flavor of understanding the importance that you would if you had read the previous two. It is an adventure/intrigue/twists & turns/revenge/domination type of read that does what Cari Silverwood has always done: a delight for my mind while satisfying that "adult content" side of me. She provide details in her books that not many other authors do breathing life into this world of wonder and cast of characters. The addition of secondary characters including Xiang, Emperor Bey, Henry, Zigzag, Clockie, Tansu, and others is just another example of attention to detail instead of a superficial tale.

As to the BDSM/erotica scenes. HAWT. It's always fun to see how the BDSM elements are adapted to the circumstances if realistically done which the author did in this case. The mixed theme BDSM scenes do include the mf, ff, mff, exhibitionism, and exteme elements so do be aware of that if you read this book. However, if you look for that in your read grab this one as this author is a master at it.

I really enjoyed this book with it's complex story line and erotic action in a full length novel. As a personal shout out if the author sees this review I do thank you for zigzag's fate. You know that was an issue for me in previous reads. ;)

I am having a hard time reviewing this one, I think because once I complete my review; it will mean no more Steamwork Chronicles. Please Ms. Silverwood, I implore you…COME BACK! I adore this wonderful clockwork world you have created, and want to visit again and again.

I loved this book and this series, and they were immediate additions to my Keeper Shelf. Steel Dominance starts before the end of Lust Plague, and I would recommend reading both Iron Dominance and Lust Plague prior to reading Steel Dominance.

We first meet Dankyo in Iron Dominance, as the head of Security for House Kevonis, second-in-command to Theo Kevonis. In the time that has passed since his first appearance, Dankyo has grown into his Dom identity, and developed some serious kinks. He has been assigned to escort and guard a scholar to the Byzantium Empire, but in order for her to access the puzzle she is studying; she must pose as his slave. What starts off as an assignment for Dankyo rapidly becomes something else when he meets his charge, Sofia.

Sofia is a learned, strong-willed, fiercely intelligent, university professor. She certainly doesn’t think of herself as submissive in any way, but she does have these recurring dreams of non-consensual sex. These are disturbing for Sofia because in the dreams she enjoys it. In order to study the Clockwork Warrior puzzle she has devoted year of her life to, she must pose as a slave to a man she just met, a man who stirs all her dark and forbidden dreams to life.

Dankyo soon offers her a proposition while they are together – submit to anything he desires.

”This is Byzantium, where slaves do as their Masters bid them. Where no one will know if you surrender yourself to me. Not your friends; not your family.”

It swiftly becomes more than an arrangement for both of them, but Sofia believes she is not a great catch, and Dankyo has grief in his past that makes it hard for him to accept the idea of someone in his life permanently.

This is not glitter-kink or sugar-kink, so if anything beyond that is offensive to you, consider this your fair warning. However, if you like the rougher side, this is a book you should try. Includes rope bondage, humiliation, sexual-slavery, Mfm, Mff, impact play, public exhibition, etc.

Oh and by the way, there is also a murderous assassin out to get our two heroes, a treacherous Emperor-bey willing to do anything to get his way, and a host of fascinating and real secondary characters. Epic battles, treachery, betrayal, heroic acts, self-sacrifice, a loveable clockwork dog named ZigZag, and some amazingly real clockwork devices make this a great read. Add in the wonderfully written BDSM and this is a Five Star read that is impossible to put down.

When Cari Silverwood asked me (quite a while ago - I hold my hands up here) if I would be interested in reviewing STEEL DOMINANCE, the third book of her Steamworks Chronicles series, I was intrigued. BDSM steampunk is not a genre I normally read (let's face it, it's not your standard run-of-the-mill romance genre), but the fact that she referenced Meljean Brook's Iron Seas world when talking steampunk made me think twice. It's rare when I come across a fantasy romance where I completely buy into the fantasy elements. Like wallpaper historicals, a lot of fantasy romances come across as "wallpaper fantasy" for me - they're just there as background and you can easily lift and drop the romance into another setting without losing anything.

My attention was captured from the start - an assassination is an excellent way to kick off a story, even better when we're then plunged into the main story leaving us as much as in the dark as the onlookers. The steampunk fantasy setting added an extra dimension (and imaginative clockwork creatures galore) to the story - and that wallpaper fantasy thing? Wasn't an issue at all - I loved how romance and fantasy were intertwined in this book.

There was a high suspense factor throughout the book, although I did find it slightly frustrating that this was driven partly by a lack of communication (or possibly omission?) between Dankyo and Sofia. If they had actually talked more, the identity of the villains may have had come to light sooner, so yes, I wanted to shake Sofia at times (in her defence, I should say that she didn't realise that she was in possession of significant information).

Romance-wise, STEEL DOMINANCE falls into the erotic romance category, even ignoring the BDSM elements. Add the BDSM side of things - and well. Vanilla this is not. However, while the "undercover as slave" setup had a lot of potential for BDSM play (and this was very definitely used), there was something lacking for me. I never quite understood the why behind Dankyo and Sofia's D/s dynamic - maybe I needed more backstory, but I was just left thinking this was a very erotic romance.

All in all, I really liked the steampunk fantasy elements (in fact, I found myself wondering how Cari Silverwood would tackle a straight fantasy); however, Dankyo and Sofia's romance, although extremely sexy, left me wanting a bit more. This is the third book in a series, but stands fairly well by itself - previous characters make an appearance, but didn't take over the story. I do have a sneaky suspicion that Dankyo would have had more appeal for me if I had read previous books.

Wow, I loved this book and adore the Steamwork Chronicles series. Whilst all three books are set in the same world, with domination and submission at their core, they all were distinct and had their own unique feel. Book 1 was a mix of angst, action and domination, whilst Book 2 was zany adventure and very kinky kink. Book 3 is an amazing journey into submission and opening your heart to your true desires.

I really liked and was engaged by both main characters, though I did connect much more with Sofia.
Dankyo was quite distant and aloof at times, although this was part of his character and perhaps a deliberate ploy by the author. Sofia is an academic whose career choice has led to rejection by most of her family. She is a wonderful mix of both determined and approval seeking. I really liked her character and, whilst the book is written third person, hers is the voice we hear most through this story. Dankyo appeared in Book 1 but in this we learn more about him both past and present. He first appears in book 1 and though you don't need to have read that book to enjoy this, it is a hot read and well worth buying.

There are scenes in this book which border on non-con acts, though ultimately it felt like Sophia either chose them or chose to allow them to happen. I loved the "edge of uncomfortable" this made me. Whilst I'm not sure I'd enjoy my kink to push me that far, I do enjoy reading about it. The kink scenes are very hot and set in this steampunk world just had a different dimension to them.

In some ways the book could be considered a little niche - you need to enjoy both the fantasy/steampunk genre and kink/BDSM (or at least erotica). Personally I loved this book, I feel the story has more depth than a lot of the 'spanked by an alien' type books (which I also love but they are fluffy).

When i got the chance to read Steel Dominance,i couldn’t believe my luck. Because, let’s face it,any story that comes from the capable hands of Cari,is one that you will love. One that stays with you for a long time. And,yes, this was another one of those! Sofia is a sweet girl, one that knows to solve a good puzzle. Hired to solve the ultimate puzzle that was the Clockwork Warrior, she needs protection. And Dankyo is just the man for the job. To do that,he will act as her owner to keep her safe. But what starts out as a cover for her safety, becomes so much more.....With twists and turns, with puzzles everywhere you turn, this was a breathtaking journey. One that i loved,só much....I need to go back to the start of this series!

Steel Dominance
Cari Silverwood
Steamwork Chronicles #3

Steel Dominance was a great 5 star read.
I was so excited to get Dankyo’s story and I wasn’t disappointed.

Sophia has a mission and in order to complete the mission she has to be a slave to Dankyo. She is a very strong and independent woman so being a slave just isn’t something she bows to easily. She challenges Dankyo at every turn.

Dankyo isn’t sure how he was brought into this mission but he is really enjoying Sophia. There is something about her that calls to his Dom side and he is ready to explore with her. The things these two do is off the charts hot and steamy.

Am I turning into an obedient little puppy dog? Never, Surely? - Sophia

Of course there are unexpected twists and turns and others with plans as well. Will Sophia be able complete her mission? Will Dankyo and Sophie have more after the mission?

This was a great read, I really enjoyed how Sophia would push Dankyo’s buttons and he is definitely an alpha male all the way. He was excited to have someone who was interested in the BDSM lifestyle and willing to push the limits. There are several erotic scenes that include mf, ff, mff and so much more. If you like steampunk with an edge I highly suggest this great series. Each book can be read as stand alones.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy.

Cari Silverwood puts it all in the dark, intense and hot series book three Steel Dominance. She's created a fabulous steampunk-ish Clockwork world and put her brand of bad into it and I loved it.

I loved all the faces in this book but Danyko I think is my new BBBF. mmmm can you say yum. Cari made the mix of a bit of dark fantasy work with BDSM Themes. The scenes were wonderful and didn't take from the storyline but was part of it and flowed amazingly.

you're going to love Sophia because she chose to be a slave to get a job done, she falls into the role supremely. she's smart and uses it to get what she can to figure out the puzzle of the Clockwork warrior.

She's in a world playing a game and neither her or Danyko knows all the rules. Will they be able to pull it off? Of course, when one takes on a role just for play somewhere along the line you want it to be real. Byzantium is beautiful as it is deadly more so because of an assassin from with a past grudge.

amazing addition to a great series.

It is so easy to immerse yourself in this universe. It feels as if you've stepped into a world full of contradictions, surprises, and after a couple of paragraphs you begin to feel as if you're really there.
The sometimes slightly oldfashioned language, the sophisticated machinery, and the very human traits of treachery and honour, make your head spin.
And then you have an educated woman still trying to impress daddy with her career choice, paired with a strict military man as her body guard. Drop those two into a country where women are kept as pleasure slaves, add their personal, at first unwilling, attraction, have them solve a centuries old puzzle, and wait for the fireworks.
And fireworks there are. You get a sumptious, budding D/s relationship, bombs and spies, murder and cruelty, a pinch of clockwork magic, and lashings of love.
This is one lavish fairy tale for grownups.

Steel Dominance is book 3 in the Steamwork Chronicle Series. It is of steampunk genre. The setting is Byzantium & in an Ottoman Empire. Ancient Greece/Turkey meets Futuristic BDSM Space Fantasy. I have never read anything like this book and that is what I love about reading Cari Silverwood’s book. They are original and I wonder what goes on in her brain to come up with books like this.

Steel Dominance is Sofia White and Dankyo’s story. Dankyo is Sofia’s bodyguard/slave owner as Sofia poses as a slave to be able to enter Byzantium to solve the ancient puzzle of the Clockwork Warrior.

Loved the story! Cari Silverwood sure knows how to write her “kinkalicious BDSM” scenes. I love Zigzag! If you can make a “dog-like” metal robot cuddly, Cari Silverwood can.

I enjoyed Steel Dominance and I can’t wait to see what this author comes up with next.

This is another fantastic book by Cari Silverwood.

It's nowhere near as dark as most of her other books, but that's not a bad thing. It's nice to see something a little more lighthearted. If you've read any of the Pierced Hearts or Wicked Ways series, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Like always, there's amazing characters and a unique plot that will keep readers intrigued. I loved the scenes between Sofia and Dankyo and the chemistry between these two just oozes off the pages and keeps the reader hostage.

Another fantastic read by one of my favourite authors. This is the third book in this fantastical steampunk world Cari Silverwood has created and I hope it's not the last. I am totally enamoured by this world. There is intrigue, betrayal, spies, danger, a very sexy dominant hero and a feisty, bright heroine. Oh and amazing, steamy, hot sex. This author knows how to write sex scenes. I love how this author writes female characters as well. Yes, they are usually submissive but they are never helpless or dumb. This action adventure, steampunk erotic BDSM story(a new genre maybe) kept me interested right to the last page. Would recommend.

The third book in the series, but all books can be read as a standalone.

I enjoyed the characters in this book. Sophia was smart, a little sassy and also a bit sad, but she loved fiercely.. I loved Zigzag, he was quite the personality.

I liked Dankyo form the first book and was happy to see him again. He was able to be himself with Sophia and I enjoyed his protectiveness.

I would have liked a bit more worldbuilding and background into the story though.

Sophia and Dankyo…finally we have Dankyo's story and it’s a good one….he is a big old kinky teddy bear. Enjoyed the different scenery and the dynamic between the two main characters. Sophia is sooo independent but so wants to be wanted as well….to submit and to belong to someone. An enjoyable read.

Steampunk/BDSM Erotic Romance- I have loved every book in this series and this one is no exception. Steel Dominance is the third in the series. They have been written in such a way that they can be read as stand alone novels. ~However, don't miss out read them all ~
Since the first book Iron Dominance (Steamwork Chronicles, #1) by Cari Silverwood I've wanted Dankyo's story. Here it si yeah!!! Ms Silverwood delivered! This story is well written in a genre that can appeal to a wide range of readers: fantasy, historical, science fiction and BDSM stories. The series are some of the first steampunk stories I have read- I'm now hooked. I love the world in which all three in this series is set- political intrigue and maneuvering, fantasy scifi elements in clockwork animals and warriors, steam powered cars, guns, dirigibles. You'll meet ZigZag who stole the show sometimes I just love ZigZag and want one for my very own. Now remember this is an erotic Romance so... The sex is HOT- if you like vanilla don't come here. If you like to skip, run or jump to the wildside occasionally- this book is for you. There's a little something for everyone- did I mention steam sex toys LOL. Electrical play- mfm, ffm, exhibitionism, bdsm If this sounds intriguing to you- Give it a try- You won't be disappointed :)

I received a free digital copy in exchange for an honest review

Another AMAZING novel by Cari Silverwood, though no surprise as I have yet to read a poorly done book by her. Yay for the dominant male character being Dankyo from Iron Dominance! I loved his character in the first book and I love it even more in this book. The great thing is that even though it is the final book of the series you don't necessarily have to read the other two first to truly become enthralled and understand what is going on (though it's more enjoyable if you have, as there are cameos of the other two books main characters). The plot definitely had twists and keeps the reader on their toes with what is coming. Somehow the author did a great job at making me care for the piece of machinery that is Zigzag. Alas, I want to rave about the book but don't want to divulge any of the events that occurred as that would be a disservice to the reader... therefore read it, you won't regret it!

This is one of the better BDSM books out there... it makes sense to me who, prior to stumbling onto Cari Silverwood's works was a bit of a skeptic on the whole theme. Truly if you have a bit of an adventurous streak when it comes to erotic content give this or any of Cari's works a read, it may come as a surprise but you'll probably enjoy it.

Yum! I couldn't stop reading this book! And I'm can't wait to go back and read the first two books in the series. Dankyo and Sofia were an amazing couple to watch. I enjoyed the intrigue, plot twists, and the overall luxurious feeling of the setting. As always I enjoyed the permutations of what the world might be like if the trappings of "Steampunk" had come to the world as Victorian Englanders knew it. I especially enjoyed the way both chattel slavery and BDSM consensual slavery were woven into the meat of the story.

Review NOT posted on Goodreads from Nightowl Erotica

Top Pick 5/5 Stars "...outstanding erotica with a BDSM theme...But most of all, this is an adventure with all the things great adventure stories have in them; fights, flights, deception and much more." Terri

I honestly believe Cari Silverwood cannot write a bad book. This is the 3rd book in her Steampunk series and my favorite by far. I loved Sofia, I was immediately drawn to her, she is a wonderful charactor whose personality and strength shine through. That is one of the things I enjoy so much about Cari Silverwood's novels - her charactors are real, they have depth, their hope and desires feel real to the reader, there is real romance, not just sex, although the sex is pretty awesome too.

The mishmash of oriental/middle eastern cultural mis-appropriation was disturbing, especially because the plot centered on sexual slavery. It’s the worst of the stereotypes that westerners have foisted on cultures of “the east.”

Greek, Turkish, Chinese — probably more, but I couldn’t read any further.

I love a good power exchange romance, but I refuse to read books where the author is not respectful of the people and cultures that are a part of the story. Even better if the author understands it in a personal way.

The Black and interracial kink romances written by Rebekah Weatherspoon are a great example of the good stuff.

Meljean Brook is my go-to author for sexy steampunk romance.

“Scary sexiness, thy name is Dankyo.” -- Sofia

Cari brings us back to the amazing steampunk world filled with sexy intrigue, even more intriguing men, ever present dangers and characters that always leave you with a sense of a new member joining the family.

I cannot put into words how much I absolutely loved Steel Dominance! Really some fan girl squeals need to be heard gasps of awe and overall excitement to cover how much I loved Steel Dominance.

As always Cari’s characters were very well written. Dankyo and Sofia capture your attention and as we delve deeper into the plot and world they truly come alive.

Dankyo, who we first meet in Iron Dominance,
exceeded all of my expectations of him that was drawn from his previous roles in this series. He was pure male—determination, dominance, extremely protective to those he pledged himself, and a whole bunch of alpha-male-sexy.

Sofia is out looking to prove herself, to be the one who solves the ancient puzzle of the Clockwork Warrior. It will not only, she hopes, stick it to her father but guarantee her career as well. To get to the Clockwork Warrior, though, she must go into Byzantium as a slave and Dankyo as her owner. Sofia had no intentions of doing anything besides pretending but Dankyo brings out all of her secret submissive desires.

The sex scenes while scorching hot and kinky were at times beautiful. When Dankyo took Sofia and though doubtful at first and not really understanding the way she wants to give in to him, Sofia gives herself so freely to him. The emotion, the rightness of it—it was lovely to see her trust for him grow and form, and that made those hot, kinky sex scenes come to life in ways that made them beautiful.

Characters from past books pop in on the story at points, while they do not stay long it is enough to get a sense of how they are doing now which I found wonderful. I always love it when characters from past books pop up; it seems to solidify the world they live in to me.

Overall Steel Dominance is a wonderful addition to the Steamwork Chronicles and a must read for anyone looking for a great BDSM romance read. While this book could be read stand alone I think, I would recommend reading book one and two in this series.

Please tell me there is going to be another book!

*I received a hardcover/paperback/eBook copy/ARC of this book for free to review from the author/publisher/tour site; this in no way influenced my review, all opinions are 100% honest and my own.

Alas, the final review for the Steamwork Chronicles, Steel Dominance is the final one. So many loose threads, such a world to explore… The world building really picks up a notch with this final installment and Steamwork Chronicle’s Earth becomes much more real since we learn a lot about its history and political landscape. I also highly recommend everyone who has not read Iron Dominance and Lust Plague first should do so. It adds a lot to the enjoyment of Steel Dominance, since previous events in the Steamwork Chronicles are referenced.

One of the central characters is Dankyo whom we have already met as head of security for Theodore Kevonis back in Iron Dominance. He was my favourite character in that novel and he is here, too. I had hoped he would hit it of with Kirsten, but she is only a footnote here.
Instead, he is on a mission to Constantinople as bodyguard of a scholar named Sofia who is on a quest to discover the secret of the Clockwork Warrior.

The exotic setting at the court of the Emperor-Bey of Constantinople and Sofia’s cover-identity as Dankyo’s slave leads to everything I have come to expect from Cari’s novels: A lot of exquisite, believable erotica, with a real story that makes for a page-turning, steaming read.
Character development is also excellent. Dankyo starts out as a slightly bored and annoyed slave-handler, who is just doing it because he is on a mission and becomes a loving, caring dom. We also learn very interesting details of Dankyo’s backstory that was not even hinted at in Steel Dominance. Sofia develops from a head-heavy, very nerdy scholar to a very hot submissive while still keeping her sharp tongue and brains.
Dankyo, my friend, you have your hands full, I am sure.
The two are in their way very evenly matched and even though the roles in their relationship are clear, Sofia is not just a doll, not by far. Apart from the chemistry and carnal desire (and action) between the main characters, Steel Dominance is the most steampunk of the series. I found the adorable mechanical dog ZigZag and the crab-like clockwork propaganda devices particularly charming. I wonder were the trend would lead if there were any more Steamwork Chronicle stories in the pipe.

We also meet some very believable side characters and two villains who are really worth your ire. One is a hired assassin, we meet her right at the beginning, the other one. To reveal the identity would be a spoiler.

Alas, there was one thing I did not like: Sofia. For some reason I found her character terribly annoying. I cannot quite put my finger on it but I did not like her almost from the start. Maybe because I had hoped for a Dankyo/Kirsten story.

Steel Dominance is book three in Cari Silverwood's Steamwork Chronicles and it is daring and gorgeous story of love, courage and transcendence. Cari's steampunk and historical erotica consistently sets the highest mark for her genre. Her exceptional tales are anchored in excellent world building. The characters are complex, flawed and yet never caricatures and were the erotica removed they would still be evocative, fascinating and well drawn tales.

Dankyo is back from his brief yet scorching appearance in Iron Dominance. Steel Dominance is first and foremost a love story...one full of adventure and danger for Dankyo and Sofia. It is a satisfying cocktail of bold eroticism and cautious vulnerability. Cari Silverwood does not rely upon the cliches of the brooding man to define Dankyo. He is a strong yet elegant character and defines the finest qualities in a literary dom. While he is quiet and focused, he lacks the broody, selfish and aggressive petulance many author's utilize to create the wounded warrior or bereft lover. Sofia is an intelligent, driven, talented and strong woman who engages as a sub for the first time. Her character is sexually curious, eager and yet she is able to set limits for her heart and self-esteem. It was a pleasure to watch these two characters fall in love and evade their significant and elaborate obstacles.

This is my second time ever reading anything by Cari Silverwood and oh my! Steel Dominance is a first experience in my reading history, yes, a definite first indeed! I've read steam punk. I’ve read erotica. I've read romance and yes, I’ve read BDSM, but NEVER a combination of all four together. It was insanely intriguing, exciting and sensual. I loved it! A definite must read for any fans of the genre :)

Sofia is a very lovable, smart and beautiful woman that has her mind set to accomplish a goal in her life. Things take a bit of a turn for her, in a way. She finds herself in a position that she cannot back out of and she finds that she really enjoys it and the man that now has her under his control, for now…

Dankyo is one amazingly hot, sophisticated, intimidating, desirable and mysterious. He’s also an intense lover and an amazing warrior. This man leaves many women wanting with just a mere look. I pictured him as a modern Bruce Lee with a more risqué appeal as I was reading. Yum!

The build, chemistry, characters, setting and all around everything completely rock in this story. I found myself laughing many times over due to the antics between Sofia and Dankyo. A perfect match in my eyes!

I couldn’t wait to read about Dankyo when I first met him in the first installment of the Steamwork Chronicles series. I’m so glad he got his HEA!

Dankyo and Sofia embark on an adventure as he accompanies her on a mission to solve a puzzle. Their interactions are scorching, Dankyo commands her submission in such a way that she can’t help but submit. Her curiosity and vulnerability as well as light humor make him yearn for more than their temporary arrangement.

I’ve only read a handful of steampunk stories and Cari’s is a definite read. She handles BDSM amazingly, while being hot and steamy also very sensual and raw. The characters are brought to life in vivid descriptions, seeing them fall in love was truly a wonderful experience.

The last of this trilogy, enjoyable although a bit draggy in places. Plot and characters were unique. A bit of mystery and intrigue laced with historical flavor topped with HOT bondage kept me twitching throughout the journey. Spanking for discipline may be wrongly stated, when discipline turns into pleasure. There are six locations where spanking is specifically stated (1314, 1818, 3120, 3148, 3387, 4825). However, there are many more inferred spanking episodes with words such as, redding her butt, making her butt pink...pink...pink, etc. There was even a scene of f-f-m menage, while different than my preference, was enticing. Overall, this selection met many criteria for a bedtime story.

Dankyo and Sophie's story. Haven't read book two in the series, but I enjoyed the first book more, for whatever reason.

"Any woman who reveled in swimming enough to get her hair wet, and who was impulsive enough to dive into a lake with a clockwork crocodile, was the woman for him. Sure, he'd told her the creature was safe, but this was a whole other level of feistiness. Sofia was crazy, but the right sort of crazy for him."

There was piercing in one scene, but it was super quick and not described in any detail, so I was able to get through it.
